Reviews
### POSITIVE POINTS:
The hotel is reasonably close to the airport, and we can easily take a direct bus there. It is also near several restaurants and convenient stores, which can be very handy for anything we might need. The room is of a good size, and the double bed is excellent with a super comfortable mattress. It also has a nice balcony with a view of the pool and the sea.
The beach is right in front of the hotel with sun loungers available, unlike the beach next door where you have to pay
The receptionists, like Ms. Jota and another gentleman whose name I forgot, are very friendly and helpful, as is Elfi, the lady from the pool bar. The pool is also very good, with a maximum depth of 3.50 meters.
### NEGATIVE POINTS:
As a young person, I am not very demanding since I consider myself quite flexible, but there are some things to reflect on.
The bathroom is not very good, the shower is very small, and it's hard to move around without knocking over our hygiene products. If you are a couple and want to shower together, forget it because there is literally no space, it’s small and cramped. They also do not provide shower gel, only shampoo, so you end up washing with shampoo on your body. The room also does not offer a kettle for making tea or coffee, which didn’t matter to me since I had breakfast included.
The pool closes early at 6 PM, it could close at 7 or even 8 PM to make the most of the sun and good weather.
The internet could be better as it has some issues.
Despite bus stops being near the hotel, the buses that pass by are often full and don’t stop at the stops. I recommend waking up early to catch the bus if you want to see the center of Rhodes. If you want to rent a car or a scooter, that’s also possible and quite affordable.
As for crosswalks, I don’t know why, but drivers there don’t feel obligated to stop. If you don’t step into the road, they won’t stop, and even if you do, you have to be careful when crossing.
I was on a half-board stay (breakfast & dinner). The breakfast, although a safe and OK positive, was limited. It had bread, croissants, cheese, ham, eggs, butter, and 'Nutella.' Some of those croissants were hard due to exposure time, which is normal. Besides that, the breakfast was also targeted at the British people: beans, mushrooms, bacon, sausage – things they eat which I am not a fan of at all.
As for dinner, I would say it is below what Greek food is, one of the best cuisines in the world. Unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired. The food was also limited, and there wasn’t much choice. Always two types of meat, like turkey and pork, and a fish – that’s it. There was also pasta that varied according to the day, but even that was disappointing, with only two days where I had a good cream-based pasta. Other than that, it was disappointing. There were dishes that seemed like leftovers from lunch or the day before. They weren’t very tasty, not well-seasoned, and I was unfortunately disappointed.
### OVERALL:
Given the quality-price ratio, I can't complain much as I stayed for a week and overall, it was pleasant+ staying. The main disappointment was the dinner. However, it was an overall pleasant experience. I would give it a 3 if I had to rate it. Would I return to the hotel? Most probably not.
The closing of the pool is early. Music everywhere around the pool. Noisy road in front.
The beaches okay but with stones.
Take room Nr. 408. It’s off the road, but you can see the sea.
Staff that work there are very friendly and do a great job which are the only thing that hold this hotel up.
Bedrooms are fine & get cleaned everyday if you request, bathroom is horrible and old and needs urgent renovating.
We went with the bed & breakfast option only (luckily) & the food was the most basic you can get with the same exact things meaning eggs, beans, bread and pancakes every day. The fruit options are limited to only cut apples and oranges doesn’t look fresh at all and the snacks don’t either.
If you decide to go with all inclusive apparently you can only start getting alcohol drinks from the bar after 18:00 which is just poor.
If you are planning to go on a trip here with children I warn you DO NOT book this hotel and book something better, the price may look good but I know for sure if I was ever to come back to Rhodes myself I’d pay extra and go elsewhere.
The hotel is not really child friendly doesn’t offer any activities or things to do. If you are only planning to sleep here and nothing else then yes, I guess this would be a good option if you get a good price.
Lastly check out was at 11am and my flight was at 9pm, when I asked if we can leave our bags and suitcase in their storage they said if I want to use their storage I need to pay which is a joke.
One minus is street in front of hotel. But the noise was not so bad.
Staff is very nice and helpful.
Food was good. You can choose and offer were changing.
When I wanted to use the safe in the room I had to pay extra 3€-4€ more per day.
Breakfast in the hotel is okay. Ate lunch once.
Sadly, we could hear the neighbor apartment and when they move something in their room it sounds like someone is trying to open your door. It startled me a few time.
Overall, my stay at Lito hotel in Ixia was a really nice experience.
Food's really good at the cantina, sweets too. Drinks are usual but OK. The music is mighty fine, mixes and not only of known songs, classics and new. In some evening there singers and bands with dancers bringing you a good time at the pool. The latter isn't opened for swimming after 19.00 sadly.
Rooms are clean and the water pressure is really good, toilet paper being too thin for my taste. The downside is the walls aren't solid enough and noise cand be heard from neighbours. Also, there's a weighing device at the reception but it costs 1 euro per measure. Ah and the safe inside the closet costs about 3 euros per day but the issue is it can't fit your laptop in if it's bigger. However, you can leave stuff at the reception.
The staff is generally nice and helpful.
Overall a really nice experience and a lovely place overall.
