Hotel Continental Genova

Place is pretty fabulous. Built-in 1876. It is still very much just as beautiful as it was in the beginning. I'm talking classic classic marble everywhere. Beautiful architecture. Has the original elevator still working that you have to use all the time. It's like stepping back in time. I loved it. I highly recommend staying here and the people are great. It's absolutely charming ,whimsical, Historic and playful. It makes you wonder who has actually stayed here over the past one hundred and thirty four years. Absolutely enchanting.

Lovely hotel which links into the adjoining hotel. Rooms were very cosy and was near the train station. Bathroom not that large but the showers were very good. Shutters on the window allowed the window to be open but gave you privacy. Staff members were very attentive and the room service personnel were very good at cleaning the rooms. We had breakfast included which, although the selection wasn't as large as other hotels on our trip but was still very nice and the staff were all very helpful. Lots of nice restaurants around and good bus routes nearby. We stayed for three nights and will be staying with them again. Hotel had maps for the local area as well as things to do. They have a beautiful old English lift which was nice to use and see.

The breakfast buffet, which is supposed to be available until 10:30 AM, was already being cleared when my family and I arrived at 10:00 AM. Despite seeing us starting to serve ourselves, the staff continued to pack up the food and coffee, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. This was quite frustrating and put a damper on our otherwise enjoyable stay.

Stayed 1 night en route from Italy to France because of the hotel’s convenience for Genoa Principe station and was pleasantly surprised by the standard of this hotel. It is linked to the Grand Savoie hotel next door and shares facilities like the rooftop bar, restaurants and spa. Sadly the much praised breakfast by other reviewers was a bit of a let down with cold congealed scrambled eggs and watery orange squash instead of the freshly squeezed juice served almost everywhere in Italy. Good sized quiet well furnished rooms and a beautiful old wooden lift. Reception on arrival was a bit frosty but other receptionists were friendlier. Overall I would recommend this hotel for value for money. Also a nice dinner in the Continental’s Trattoria restaurant with local dishes at good prices.

We were delighted with our selection of hotel. Located right next to the Principe train station and at walking distance to the city center. The room was very comfortable and very clean. Had the availability of many amenities if needed. The breakfast was delicious!!! Staff spoke English well and were very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend this hotel.

We had a couple of great nights there with a lot of party on the streets. The restaurant on the roof top of the partner hotel is ridiculous though. Waiter has too much to do and the drinks weren’t good. Not even the espresso.
The wifi in the room wasn’t sufficient so the front desk gave us a mobile router which worked perfectly! Great service level!
Regarding parking, reviews got completely crazy about it but we stayed over the weekend and there is free parking right outside of the hotel, at least in weekends 🙌🙌🙌 so no problem at all

Great place at great location

We were upgraded to the one next door so it was a nice hotel, nice rooms and great roof top bar. Staff at the front are fairly nice snd helpful except Valentina who knows nothing of customer service and was quiet rude which was a shock, she definitely needs some training how to speak to and deal with guests at a 5 star hotel. Hotel is near the train station.
