Hotel San Rocco

We had 2 night's here and things just didn't really work out well for us. On arrival we followed the signs to the hotel but we still couldn't access it. There were some road works going on making entry to the marina difficult. In fairness the hotel did email 24 hours before but some screw up with mails to the the agent (expedia/hotels.com) meant I didn't see the warning. It took us 35 minutes driving and walking around to get to check in. In order to get to the hotel car parking you need to go through multiple barriers, pressing the "call" button, waiting a while for someone to answer and open the barrier if you are lucky. On a couple of occasions the security people were quite sceptical and it took a bit of persuasion to let me in or out, sometimes they didn't answer for a good few minutes. Yes the same crazy procedure is required to exit. Security here is tight.

The hotel wasn't very busy as it's out of season but the lady on the front desk did fire up the espresso machine for me even though the bar was closed. (Thanks)

The room and bathroom were spacious but the electrical outlets were a bit hit and miss requiring a magical combination of the plug and wall switches which wasn't that obvious.

You can quite easily walk into Muggia port in around 15-20 minutes so location is OK (barriers aside)

I suspect events just conspired against us but there were just too many small irritating issues for it to be a totally relaxing stay. Prbably very different during the summer holiday season.
