The owner seemed to be helpful until unexpected problem with check-in forced me to contact him and ask for a favour. He stopped communicating and took my money. Never again.

The room was disgusting! Wallpaper peeling off the walls due to damp. Bathroom was filthy. Didnt shower as wanted to be out of there asap. Mouldy damp on walls. Noisy. Pillows flat and we didnt dare check the mattress as there wasnt a mattress protector. Felt itchy all-night. It definitely wasnt near to the station. Area was also not the safest.

Do Not Book 5Keys Apartment! Upon arrival, we immediately got a bad feeling about the place. It looked unclean and poorly managed. We would have left right then, but we had already paid for the accommodation in full. The woman at the reception didn’t speak any English, and even Google Translate didn’t help. We eventually got our room, but it didn’t match the pictures at all, and the apartment/hotel is far from deserving its three-star rating. At best, it’s a one-star establishment. Our room had a moldy mini-fridge that we had to remove ourselves after opening it. The bed was uncomfortable, with just basic sheets, the bathroom was moldy, wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the air conditioning unit was leaking water into the room, we could hear all noises clearly from the hallway, and there was barely any toilet paper. When we asked for a hand towel (since the Booking and Google pictures showed that the room includes both bath and hand towels, along with coffee-making facilities and some small snacks on the table), we were told it would cost an extra €5. We pointed out that most accommodations provide something to dry your hands, to which the reply was, "You should have gone to a four-star hotel." We are used to various levels of accommodation, with our budget typically being around €100 per night, but this was the worst experience overall, both in terms of room quality and customer service. The stay cost about €70, including tourist taxes (which you have to pay in cash, with no receipt provided). The service was rude and unhelpful, and I do not recommend booking this apartment. The star rating is far from what it should be. While we were out exploring the city, the fridge we had moved to the lobby was cleaned, but during this time, we still didn’t get any extra toilet paper. We had to ask for more again. In a place with at least a three-star rating, there should be an extra roll of toilet paper, and the towels and amenities shown in the pictures should already be in the room as promised to the customer. Overall, this was the worst accommodation experience we’ve ever had. To top it all off, on our last night, the power went out three times, and the water stopped running. I cannot recommend this place, and this entire experience soured our visit to Pisa, which we have no plans to return to.
