This hotel is what I dub "village tourism." It's a hotel, it has plenty of visitors (maybe 20 or 30 rooms, if that?), it has a pool and a restaurant, a bar, reading areas, WiFi - everything a great hotel has, except it's not a sky-rise. The views are beautiful and serene. The hotel staff is welcoming and kind. Our dog was able to walk the property and our room had lots of space. The room was clean and had amazing views of the countryside. The breakfast was nice, but limited choices. The hotel is a short drive to the city center but feels as if you are in the middle of nowhere.

Restaurant is very good with a good quality and quantity. You will enjoy local food with local wine, altogether with a stunning view over San Gimignano! Friendly staff and great terrace. I will recommend to eat outside on the terrace to have a better view and atmosphere.

Wonderful experience in this superb hotel. Feels like going back in time with all the stone hallways and the old style room. The terrace is a very quiet and cozy place to have a break during the sunny and busy afternoon of San Gimignano. Absolutely loved this place! In the heart of San Gimignano, great price and great people. The owner, Marzia, is a lovely woman, always ready to help and to give you advice on the hottest spots of the city and surrounding. The rooms are spacious and always very clean. There is fast Wi-fi and I never had problems with it. I also loved the cozy backyard, ideal to relax while reading a book.

This is a functional, clean B&B ...and if you want a simple place to stay then it is very peaceful, with good WiFi, and a reasonable, but not extensive breakfast, with lovely views

The hotel is old, but this gives a typical charm. The rooms are small and air-conditioning doesn't work perfectly. The rooms nevertheless are very clean. Breakfast is ok. The best is the pool and the amazing view on the Tuscany countryside. Within a 10 minutes walk you can easily reach the old town.

Very pleasant stay. Beautiful view of S. Gimignano from our room. We preferred the newer building with a smaller balcony rather than the older side with the larger balcony. Clean, safe and tranquil. Very cordial staff and excellent breakfast. Evening drinks on the terrace was very cozy and romantic. Very clean pool and surrounding area with flowers, trees and sounds of nature. We will return.

Rooms are dated - rust in the bathroom, still tolerable as you can tell it’s from normal wear and tear. Breakfast is very good but dinner food was unremarkable, I suggest to avoid. Nice hotel with a nice view next to the wonderful San Gimignano village. Friendly hosts and nice Spa. One opportunity for improvement is the water at a price in the room. Please put complimentary water for people arriving to the hotel.

4 star hotel. Clean, but not well located.

La Collegiata is a former monastery converted into a glorious bourtique hotel on expansive grounds about a 1.5 miles walk (uphill) to the center of San Gimignano. Rooms are full of character and the beautiful grounds make for a lovely area to sit and dine during the summer months. Can't recommend highly enough, just remember, it is a good 25 minute walk into San Gimignano.

This was an exceptional stay at an exceptional location with exceptional staff. There is an amazing view of San Gimignano which is perfect for an aperitivo before dining at the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, which can be seen by my attached photos. We took our Dog with us and the staff went above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of. We had a wonderful time here in June of 2019, staying one night while we were "on the road" through the Italian countryside. Our dinner on the terrace was delicious, and we loved the gorgeous view of San Gimignano across the fields. May I add that our room was beautiful and the the landscaping invited us to take a walk around the grounds.

Great property, location and staff. Everyone was really helpful and nice. The restaurant has a great menu and is very good. The pool is a bit cool and refreshing. Many German people made this their holiday location. The only thing I would change is the bed, it was bowed in the middle. A new mattress would fix it... My final tip, bring a bit of bug spray for dinner (ankles) and at the pool..

The location of the hotel was absolutely exception! What a view. The hotel staff were really kind and happy to help. The room has everything you needed, including a fridge, even if it all was a bit dated!

Nie and peaceful location

Hotel is spotlessly clean, the host/owners are friendly and very helpful and they have a beautiful pool with knockout views! The hotel is in a great spot if you want to be just outside the busy San gimignano but within a 15 to 20 minute walk which for us was ideal. Really love this place ...would highly recommend!

We had been driving around Italy for a few days and arrived at San Gimignano without a hotel reservation. There was a festival in town and we were concerned we would not find a place to stay. My husband remembered he had seen San Michele Hotel as we were getting into town. We turned around and were lucky they still had space available. We enjoyed this amazing hotel near San Gimignano. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel has a shuttle that takes you to San Gimignano if you don’t want to worry about finding parking. There’s also a Michelin Star restaurant on-site, which serves delicious Tuscan food for a decent price. The owner and his family are great people and We will definitely be back soon!

Stayed here in July 2021 after staying here back in 2000. My how things have changed. The hotel got an update but it only feels partially done. The location is great, but be aware of the drive to get into the hotel. Amazing view and highly recommend a room with a balcony to enjoy the marvelous views of the Tuscany hillside.

We were so happy that we had booked this hotel for the two nights we stayed in San Gimignano. This is the very best place in town. Of course, you cannot park inside the walls but you can drive to the hotel to drop your things and get checked in, and then park in one of the convenient lots outside the walls. No problem. Great location with super helpful staff. There are rooms overlooking the Piazza as well as the Tuscan countryside. Can be noisy sometimes on the Piazza side but not necessarily to an excessive level.

We recently spent two weeks at the end of May at this delightful hotel. Authentic family run hotel. One of the best kept secrets in San Gimignano . Beautiful gardens, great location, delicious food friendly helpful staff. A lovely charming and old fashioned feel. A definite 10/10. Thank you to all the staff who made our first time in Tuscany a wonderful experience .

Couldn't have wished for a better place to eat on our last night here in Gimignano. Our meals were superbly presented along with fantastic professional service. Absolutely recommend this beautiful hotel, a reason for this being their fine selection of fish dishes unavailable in most of the other restaurants in the village.

Very good traditional Italian and Toscan restaurant using excellent product and serving original dishes which is good once you have spend several days in Toscana and tested already all the specialties. Simple place and decoration, the most value is in the food and the service.

Wonderful staff - very accommodating and helpful. Clean comfortable room with an excellent view of the city. Easy walking distance to the city - but just far enough to be quiet at night. Lovely breakfast indoors or out in a covered courtyard. Free high speed Internet that is actually fast. We will return.

Good food and reasonable prices. Service was a little slow but the waiter was very professional the food was delicious. Excellent selection of well priced local wines. Excellent for dinner if you are staying at the Relais hotel next door. Managed to get in without a reservation on a busy Tuesday night, probably need to book in the season.

This place is designed with a third eye. From the windows, to the bathtub, to the honor bar & library. I would do anything to stay with Baker & Christian again. This B&B was the absolute best part of our stay. The views were excellent and the hospitality was second to none. Anna and Alessandro are such kind people; delays to our travel plans left us stranded at the train station in Poggibonsi (about 12 km from the hotel) and they came to pick us up in their own car in the middle of the night! Although I did not stay here, I walked on the property and was greeted by the owner of the B&B who was extremely friendly, gracious and hospitable. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Small b&b (just 3 rooms, I think). All rooms looking out over the tuscan hills and the owners vineyards and olive groves. The owner and his family were very friendly and his wine is delicious. Breakfast is served in the owners apartment and is plentiful and delicious. Only a 5 minute stroll into the city. Wish we had booked more than one night.

I Coppi is without question one of the best B&B's I have stayed in. The location is within a few hundred meters of the main village in San Gimignano. One of the most beautiful places / hotels I've ever seen especially considering the price. The only thing I could critizise is that the sound isolation of the rooms are not the best and you can hear the neighbours sometimes.
