Hotel Pocho

The staff is rude. The food is absolutely expensive and small portions and not that tasty! I can do spaghetti a lot better! It was spaghetti with octopus, but only 4 pices of 1cm of octopus on the entire plate! The room is under the ground and is very humid inside and there is a bad sewage smell coming from the bathroom! The shower drain was plugged and had to do 1 minute shower in order not to get water in the entire bathroom! The view is nice but the value for the money not worth it! Overrated and overpriced! Will not come back again!

Disappointing. We ate and stayed here, and both experiences were a real let down. From rude, cold staff leaving us feeling uncomfortable, to our babies 'mattress' being a broken lumpy and completely unusable piece of foam. The pictures of the rooms are very deceptive, they are small and worn.
The pool is a great plus, with a gorgeous view and it's well kept.
Sunset on the terrace is also beautiful.
We paid a ridiculous price for the room and for dinner - neither was worth it.

Surprises can be good. In fact, they can be amazing. Low expectations, or no expectations can spawn turn around that dazzle. Here, sadly the opposite was the case. I booked for Sunday nights only offer "cous cous degustation". I was psyched. Cous cous in these parts is a fine, sand sized pasta that is as common here as tomatoes are in napoli. The fish cous cous is everywhere, and usually excellent. Tonight starts with the local chick pea fritter...except this may have found its way from the kitchen sink, not stove. Limp as a dead man's wedding tackle. The fish cous cous is where they get their second star. It was pretty good and quite well cooked. The sorbetto could have come from any of the great gelaterias within 5km of here...alas, icy and dull arrived. The "main course" consisted of 2 heartbreakingly nondescript cous cous apologies. Directionless, and edible only in the most perfunctory way. Dessert had some goal in mind, and best described as not a failure. The wine list featured 1 half bottle, which was very good. The service was friendly, though our waiter believes that covid 19 eminates from chin hair, and not nose and mouth, signified as that was what was protected.
But the kicker was the price. €40 each for a fish dish worth €12 at best, with the other courses generously valued at about €10 altogether. This may be a good idea to tell those who book.
