Grand Hotel Duca Di Mantova

Hotel is nowhere near 4-star quality.

No pool or gym.

Fridge was not working.

Rooms are small, poorly furnished, and lack balconies.

Hygiene was subpar.

Location is 20 km from Milan city center with poor connections.

Also, minibar had no visible price list and items were not electronically tracked.
Management does not respond to complaints.

Avoid this hotel completely – it’s not worth your time or money!

Room 2018 (18 June, 2025 at 10:30PM check in, the hotel is full) Refrigerator is not working, was reported to from desk but they can't do nothing. The same happens with the TV, is not working. Shower stand is broken and the toilet paper holder is broken. The worst thing is the Air Conditioning is not working too. It is too late to change to other hotel.

I stayed in suite.The room was alright. Some parts of the room were worn out but it’s still better compared to other hotels that we have stayed in Italy. The breakfast was okay. However, the service was TERRIBLE! On the first day, we needed to go from the back door as coach was not allowed to drop off in front of the hotel. The favourite saying of the receptionist was “I don’t know” for almost everything. The location was great as there is a bus stop just outside the mall.

This hotel is full of thieves syndicates, never stay at this hotel because the thieves syndicate works together with the hotel staff to deceive guests.

Hotel staff is not helpful at all, very not recommended hotel

Because the location is not good, pickpocket syndicates should have difficulty accessing the place, but they get access easily, of course there is support from hotel management/staff to make it easier.

All recent reviews are correct.
Lots of things are broken at the hotel. They are running it to the ground, almost seems deliberately.
No shower hanger in our room. Looks like the hanger was broken years and years ago. Every single mirror is broken along the corridors if you want a point of reference.
I also had the worst hotel breakfast coffee here. Which seems shocking for Italy. It is so bad that Italian tourist order the coffee to be made separately for them, and they end of getting the same crap since they use the same terrible burnt beans.

I came here with my class hoping it would be nice as this hotel somehow has 4 stars. First it took long to check in. We went to our room and found that we dont have a door handle inside(i will let post photos). The shower keeps turning hot and cold on its own.The air conditioner goes on from its own and its very hot (we cant turn the temperature down). We found bl00d from an insect on the wall. When you open the window there are dead wasps. Tv is not working and the internet is bad. The breakfast has a very poor taste and not a lot food to choose from. Our bedsheets are very dirty and smell. The dust was not cleaned for a long time. On the last night we noticed an animal in our room(not sure if it was a rat bc it ran away fast) we told about everything to the staff and they just told us that they will check but they didn’t. It could be a nice hotel if they took care though.

Terrible hotel, I was there two days fridge was not in function AC was working automatically turning on, TV broke after the fridge overpowered and flipped fuses down… workers are terrible liars and won’t do anything u ask them to do,there is no hot water Every minute goes from hot to cold… Do not waste your time on this , this is a scam they will only take your money! The only good thing in this hotel and it was not so much good but it was solid it was the food (7/10)

I came with my family to this hotel expecting a pleasant 2-night stay costing €577 btw, including the city tax. Very quickly we ran into problems:

1) The TV was not working. We even reported this to the reception and got someone to have a look. They tried a few things but were unable to get a signal. I personally wasn't too bothered by this to be fair even though it's meant to be part of the facilities they offer.

2) The Wifi in our room was so bad. We stayed on the 3rd floor and the Wifi was basically none existent. I found this quite annoying given the amount of money we were paying and especially because we don't live in Italy and so we have a limited amount of mobile data. Noting was done about this whilst we were there.

3) There was a power cut for over 6 hours on our second night. This was quite annoying but it was out of their control which is fair enough. What was most annoying is the way they handled it. There was not so much as an apology and we had to come down to the reception to complain and demand a refund. The offered a measly 20% refund which, in my view, was inadequate given the multiplicity of issues we had with the hotel. Nothing less than a 50% refund would have been acceptable for us. We pushed on this but they stubbornly would not budge. We ended up wasting a whole day of our holiday, trying to argue with them for a 50% refund with little sleep as the AC was not working.

In summary, I personally will not be using this hotel again and I strongly discourage anyone who might be consider staying here from doing so. The customer service is terrible.

Old and shabby next to an outdated mall with few open stores hardly anyplace to eat Locations tha force you to eat at their own restaurant not a Michelin one.
Location no good far away from downtown Milan 80 euros more or less round trip. Patronizing front desk employees. Not recommend it, personally not choosen I was with a tour. Nothing notable about this hotel just a cheap overnight stop for many Asian and other tourists groups like mine.
