We enjoyed a great week there this September. The location is great with easy access to the town, the gondola to the beach & the bus station for trips out. The rooms are typically old Italian style but the views from the rooms and particularly the breakfast restaurant terrace are just terrific. The real gem of the hotel is the pool & poolside bar area. These are spacious, not crowded with a huge pool and lots of sun loungers. The nearby bar served lots of cold drinks & tasty lunches. Definitely worth a look if you need a reasonably priced hotel in a great location.

Location is ONLY good thing, I’m sure this was a great place 50 years ago. The lobby is only renovated area.
Well aged banged up furniture, shower barely worked, what looked to be mouldy tiles, just old, dusty and dirt everywhere. Air conditioning barely worked in 40 degree heat, the lobby was nice and cool. indifferent front desk staff when I asked about the AC. Ladies at Breakfast were great. Way better options for the same money.

Great location, near enough to Taormina without being right in the hustle and bustle. Disappointed when I first saw the rooms, dated but clean. We had a fantastic terrace. Staff were great apart from 1 male on reception, breakfast had good continental style choice .
No replacement of tea, coffee, sugar and milk unless you asked which was a pain.
Lots of stairs and our room was in like a basement. Nice pool with nice food. Would possibly stay again as the location was perfect for me.

We stayed here for 3 nights in September 2023 with a last minute booking.

The hotel is well priced for a hotel that has the perfect location. You are 5-10 minutes stroll to Taormina and well located to walk down or get the cable car to the beaches. The hotel has a beautiful location on the hill with lots of good views.

The hotel has a nice pool area with a bar. It is a lot of steps down but it isn’t too bad. The sun came in the morning and in the afternoon the pool area was in the shade.

You get free breakfast with your room which has a decent enough range. All the breakfast staff are great.

The rooms are fine. Small and basic but has everything you need and the rooms were tended for each day.

I recommend this hotel due to value for money and the location!

We only stayed 1 night and left, our room was dirty, hair and dust all over the furniture and bathroom was not clean at all with black mould in the shower and a rim of dust and human hair all along the tiles, the pool had a green line of dirt all around it! Pillows, linen and blanket very poor quality and old, the furniture is all marked and well beyond its use, sockets handing off the wall by the bed , the staff on reception were brusk bordering on rude, we managed to get another 4 * hotel for the rest of our holiday as there was no way we were staying in the Miramare
Avoid ! needs complete renovation

This is an old hotel with old furniture, it has been slightly renovated, but some areas being missed here and there.

Go at your own discretion, I would avoid for a longer stay.

Positive:
- fantastic view, can't beat it, it alone deserves the stay
- staff was friendly and nice
- close to city centre
- parking is a bit tight but manageable, would not go here with a large car anyway.
- breakfast was ok and tasty
- beds were comfy

Negatives:
- walls between rooms are a joke, I was sneezing and my friend from the other room would say "bless you".
- seriously lacking sockets to charge electronics
- could use some hangers for clothes and towels
- parking is narrow, the access is narrow, so don't count on it with a large SUV or sedan car.

The room was old and disgusting. Curtains were dirty, the bathroom was also old and not very clean. The outside was not well maintained. The pool had a green ring around it on the liner. The scrubs were over grown. The staff at front desk were not very friendly. Would never recommend. Left after one night.

Had a wonderful stay, the hotel is old in places however the views are sensational, we could watch the sunrise from our room in the morning. The steps up and down to the pool aren't for anyone with walking difficulties but perfect for anyone looking to burn off all the pasta and gelato! I would definitely stay again. Staff were lovely and very helpful, we had a late flight home and they let us use the shower room at no extra charge. Perfect location for access to the town (which is fab) and the cable car to the beach is next door. Car park is a bit tight, we had a mid size lexus and were fine, if you live in the UK you'll be used to little carparks like this.

Beautiful hotel on cliff overlooking Taormina and the sea. Close to town center with walking. Breakfast was delicious each day. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was great, some of the most beautiful views I’ve seen. The hotel itself was nice, clean and good size rooms. Breakfast had great selections and really good, with also a room service option.

It’s close to everything you’d need. A 1-2 minute walk to the buses and a 5 minute walk to the cable car, or a 10 min walk to town where there is tons of shopping and dining

Only thing I was disappointed in is that the restaurant closes at 4. Such a shame to not have a dinner option at the hotel with those views.
