Nice hotel! I had a very late check-in after they closed the reception. Very strange! I chose a hotel with a 24/7 reception! They left me a note with detailed instructions on the hotel door. It said that I would find the keys to the room in the door, but they were not there!!! My sleepy brain could only think of going down to the empty reception and picking up the keys from there. Everything was perfect except that the balcony faces the main street where cars pass by at night and it makes a lot of noise. There are also garbage containers nearby and it makes a loud noise when they open them from 6 in the morning. The rest was good: clean, nice views, located near the center, good breakfast.

Although the facilities are quite old, it is a good place to stay due to the friendly staff and the location close to the downtown area!

This hotel has the best views in Taormina—sunrise over the sea from our balcony was unforgettable. The breakfast room and gardens are beautiful, and it’s just a 10-minute walk to the center. Parking is easy (€25/day). The room could use a few updates, but we’d stay here again 1,000 times over. A truly special place.

Our ocean view room with Terrace allows for a wonderful sunrise view in the morning with a sunset in the afternoon. Plenty of fresh air ventilating through the main doors and side window. Bed is a little hard, but it works for such an outstanding view. Wonderful breakfast, possibly the best choices of any we’ve seen in Italy over the last month.

What an amazing property! The staff is very professional yet polite and helpful. They parked the car for us and handled our luggage. Our room was amazing with great views out two balconies! Perfect location to walk to town or get down to the beach. The gardens are beautiful & relaxing! From the outside, it doesn't look like much because it is on a cliff but once inside some rooms have a beautiful view of the seas. It was very clean & the help was great! We walked in without a reservation, and were given a beautiful room with a sea view. A relaxed, comfortable ambience, and very helpful and courteous staff (thank you for helping us with our onward travel arrangements!) . This place exceeded my expectations after reading all the negative reviews. It had a beautiful view from our balcony and was close to all the major attractions of lovely Taormina. Hotel Sole Castello is above Taormina and just below Castelmola with fabulous views of Naxos, the coastline, Etna which is fuming every now and then. The northern coastline to the rear. Very cute boutique hotel with great view and amazing host. Hotel is located 2 min it’s from cable car to Taormina great restaurants and promenade. Just a little problem for the people who has claustrophobia- to get to the beach you need to use small elevator , but this is problem if all hotels on the top of the hill.
