4 star hotels in Taormina

We recently stayed at this supposedly 4 star hotel. It was booked by a travel agency that used the on-line photos plus the 4 star rating. What we found was the hotel photos that didn’t match the real thing. Also, the carpets were filthy and threadbare on the stairways. We heard the hotel had been sold and that management is aware of the carpet problems. I feel our travel agent was misled and...

We loved the fact that this hotel was full of 'oldie worldie' character. We didn't mind that the antique carpets were worn in places. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. They provided shampoo/conditioner, hairdryer & safety deposit box. The Breakfast buffet was delicious. We had a choice of cereals, fruit, yogurts, breads, ham, cheese, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, bacon and sweet pastries...

Family room was excellent. As advised in advance, it did not have a sea view but it had two bedrooms and plenty of space. Coming down to the breakfast room with it's panoramic view was a high light every morning. Similarly the pool had an amazing setting and view. WiFi was very poor (so 4 star for the room) in our room but I saw plenty people on laptops elsewhere around the property.

A bit pricey for what you get. My room was on the basement floor i think and you can smell a bit of the sewers not pleasant. Basic breakfast. Plenty of options around for lodging.

I originally booked a 2,000 yuan hotel next door which was very bad. I came to this hotel for a last minute room search. It was half the price and very clean. If it wasn't so old, it would definitely be a five-star hotel.

This Hotel was a perfect location for me. Close to the town either using bus(a short walk to stop) or cable car(the same short walk) & beaches especially Isabella. Well located between 5-10 mins walk from the famous isola Bella. Great restaurants nearby. They offer a private beach deal with shuttle service very nice. WiFi is okay not the greatest and same with room, maybe a bit overpriced. I only had breakfast included it was mostly bread and cereals, not too many options.

Best place with amazing, frendly staff and superb views!! The location is also perfect since there are all the needed services near: restaurants, atm, mini markets. It's very easy to take the cable car to Taormina that's 5min walk away. We would spend days on the beautiful beach Isola Bella and go to dinner to Taormina. It was the most perfect holiday. I can't praise the customer service enough here...

We can read lots of positive and negative critics for this hotel. I just left this hotel after a stay of 10 days and would like to bring some objectivity. The ratio price / quality / luxury is in the local market range. Of course, this is in reality not (anymore?) a four star hotel if you compare with northern European countries. Travellers must also consider the local culture that partially determines...

Overall would definitely recommend staying in this hotel. We only had 1 night here so didn’t need much, but we were very happy. The rooms a little outdated but definitely added character to the place, staff were so lovely and helpful, beautiful views and walking distance from everything you can need!! :)

Second stay. It is the first choice for Taormina accommodation. Convenient transportation. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful, clean and quiet environment. The staff are very enthusiastic. If my family and I go to Taormina for the third time, we will definitely choose here again.

We had a last minute change with my husband and my father (52, and 83) to Taormina and so it was a challenge with very little prep time where to stay in a vertical place with my elderly father who is in good shape but challenged by long walks, inclines and extreme heat. We did it all-- close to the bus station (4 minutes), Corso Umberto (8 minutes), the Antico Teatrico and the view cannot be beat...

Very nice hotel located just outside Taormina, nevertheless 10 min Walk to the city centre. The pool with its fantastic view on the sea is the strong point of the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Could not say better things about this place. The views from every angle, either mt etna or the water. The courtyard and garden were immaculate. Room was extremely clean. The best part for us though was the staff. Everyone behind the desk was so accommodating, helpful, and kind. They remembered our names and room number when we would walk in. 10/10 would recommend this place

This is a lovely, small boutique hotel with the best location in Taormina. Sadly doesn’t have a pool but they have deals with local beach clubs who pick you and take you back which we did for one afternoon. Take beach shoes as the sand is too hot to walk on and extremely pebbly and painful too!! The breakfast has to be confirmed night before and is a little disappointing. 10/10 experience. Quite possibly the friendliest warmest staff of any hotel I’ve ever experienced. Beautiful property in excellent location, gorgeous views from the rooms, right in the middle of the heart of Taormina. Breakfast and breakfast staff were amazing as well. We can’t wait to return.

Oldest, privately owned hotel in Taormina (1905?) - beautiful art-nouveau decor and incredibly well tended garden - like a mini Kew Gardens - with fascinating array of (labeled) tropical plants and turtles! Very central (but tucked away from the chaos of the main street) and has its own parking garage (v reasonable cost). The area where the Hotel is located is perfect. We had the "low budget" room No.103. The interior of the bedroom was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. But then the disappointment came. Room was magnificent however cleanliness and hygiene leaves much to be desired. Bed linen was dirty, toilets were not cleaned and full of pubic hair left from previous visitors. Also fruit basket ordered with prosecco was also not up to standard. Otherwise staff was very friendly and helpful.

The room has 2 bathrooms, which is really convenient for people traveling together. It is clean and sanitary. The store will recommend delicious restaurants. They are very local and delicious. If you are lucky, you will meet cute kittens for breakfast.

The hotel is a 110-year-old castle hotel, located at the ancient city gate, with excellent service, good environment, and very exquisite. The hotel window is the sea view and the castle scenery. The hotel layout is very exquisite.

The hotel could not be in a better location with views of Etna, the town of Taormina and the sea. I had a single room. It was very small and only had a partial view which was a bit disappointing but I didn't pay much. The location is at the end of the main street. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the bus station to the hotel. The hotel room height is relatively high, about 4 meters. The service attitude is good. However, the photo of the Ctrip hotel is wrong. There is no outdoor swimming pool at all😅

It is a unit in a 3-star hotel complex. There is no pool at Villa Bianca, which is actually called Pequeno Príncipe. I was in the best room (911) and the heated towel rail was turned off. The light board was exposed behind the curtain and there was an “X”, indicating that it was not to be turned on. Fortunately, all I had to do was move the switch and it was heating up in no time. Good laundromat nearby. Hotel is a bit of a hike up sets of stairs, but nonetheless convenient to the main area of Taormina. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Carmelo. Our room and the hotel in general had fabulous views. We enjoyed watching the smoking Etna from afar, during our second breakfast.

My stay at this hotel was like no other! I stayed here for 3 weeks and never felt so much like home. The hotel staff are incredible itself, super nice and hospitality is amazing. The balcony had an amazing view of Mt. Etna and the city. We enjoyed the view a lot, but there were downsides. The beds were super uncomfortable compared to other locations we have been staying.
