Hotel La Roccia

yesterday 4 people at my table did NOT get any food in the evening, simply because there was not a lot of food on the table. Also the portions are way to small for us, when we were skiing all of us were hungry. The portions weren’t even the same size, one person got double the amount of the other.

The owners where very ambitious, but that was not enough to make a neat and cozy place out of this hotel. The room was quite cold, the blanket on the bed seemed to be old and we didn't want to use it. We had dinner there. My girlfriend is vegetarian. They offered her a vegetarian alternative which was very nice. We would have appreciated to have more vegetarian alternatives, also with vegetables. The fish and potatoes that I had where quite good. To us, the whole style of the hotel could have been more modern, with natural wood, less pink color, less christian statues and more contrast in the design. For example with big, dark tiles of nature stone and white walls, combined with natural wood. It would have been great to have better light installations, some parts where quite dark. And the best would have been to be able to look outside the window and enjoy the great view, which was not possible from the breakfast table. After all, its a family business for 40 years and the family is quite nice and appreciates to get an advice what they can improve. And they are very cooperative! So if you think about staying here, make sure that you would like to spend the night in a place that feels a bit old fashioned, even if they tried to renovate it, but is managed with love.
