Hotel Tropis

If you want to stay in a resort hotel which could be anywhere in the world then this is fine. If you prefer to get a real taste of Tarea then don't.

Our visit started with a great welcome from Benito on front desk on arrival.

Room decent and clean with comfy bed but there were water issues and our toilet didn't flush one morning and then the cistern ran incessantly for the 2nd day and night.

Restaurant offering was mediocre for both breakfast and dinner and lacking in atmosphere. Although the restaurant manager was excellent.

Decent size pool but gym was not available and neither was the wellness suite.

I enjoyed a really excellent massage with Maria who was superb, but my husband had the worst massage (with another therapist) that he has ever had. It should have been 40 minutes long and full body. But he was back in our room within 30 minutes. When I complained, I was told by the male receptionist on duty, after he disappeared that it had been a 40 minute massage and that my husband had started his massage at 17.50. I showed him a photo of me and my husband in our room at 17.55 and told him that this was a lie. No apology, just a shrug!

We checked out the following morning and had been given a 10 euro discount. We were advised by the receptionist on duty that they had checked and reduced. It helped, just a little. But we would not return and we were going to bring a group of 10 people in the Spring.

Having run hotels in the past, this was a fine example of how to ensure that a customer left with a pretty poor impression.

The property including swimming pool was really clean and at a good standard. Breakfast offered a good selection and the staff were very efficient.
