This hotel is completely over rated! The food is horrible and the free alcohol is watered down. The pools are not heated including the hot tubs. Everyone smokes everywhere. The beach has no sand just sharp rocks. There is no adult pool even thought their website states it’s an Adult Resort! Babies and kids everywhere. No Concierge service and limited elevators.

We stayed in a room with a sea view, a gorgeous view. It's a bit of a walk to the beach, but acceptable. The only thing is that there was no free water in the room. The room was clean. The hotel staff was friendly. The breakfast was filling.

This hotel is located just outside of the town center. It is about a three minute walk to the middle of Tropea. The hotel is very nice and well-maintained, it has a large pool and is very quiet.

We loved our stay at Hotel Borgo Di Santa Barbara. Easily communicated with hotel manager Martina throughout the duration of our stay through WhatsApp - scheduling transit and shuttles from Aurelio (staff). They were extremely nice our entire stay. We had to stay at this property unexpectedly after our other accommodations fell through and we discovered a gem! The owner greeted us and checked us in early upon arrival. I don't understand the glowing reviews here. Our room was old and didn't look like the pictures. The linens were soiled and the phone didn't work. We kept having to go to the front for whatever we needed and half the time the staff didn't even fulfill our request. They said they would fix the phone and didn't. Great place for the budget conscious whilst still within easy reach of the main areas in Tropea. Rooms are simple and clean. Only negative was our room was a little smelly from the bathroom drainage traps, and the shower was extremely small and hard to wash in. Otherwise good enough for a short stay.

Room and rest of the building was absolutely spotless clean. Spacious room with big bed, TV, wardrobe, AC, small dining area and a bathroom and fridge. Romy picked us up from the train station and took us back when we left. She also supplied a huge breakfast for us free of charge (and catered to our vegan diet). The hotel is nice, reception staff let us check in earlier but they tried to charge us €20 to borrow beach towels.. what hotel charges for beach towels in Tropea??? Not even a deposit, the full amount just to use a towel for a couple hours and return it… cheaper to buy a new one and keep it.

I loved it been around a lot of places in the world this one was amazing . The owner and her daughter in law run the place great people the room was clean good size , everything I wanted . Its in the heart of the old city , can walk everywhere and would stay there again next year when I go back with the kids

My general experience was around or a bit below 4* - the hotel location is okay (close to the centre and to the railway station, but no nice views around), old but clean furniture, comfortable beds with uncomfortable pillows. Street noise was quite noticeable, earplugs were needed. Breakfast was okay, too. I'm giving the 5th star for the courtesy and kindness of the hotel staff :) thanks!

Great location, close to everything, and the restaurant attached was absolutely fantastic! All was great except for the toilet issues, it would flush and not stop and sound like it was going to fall through the floor. Otherwise having access to a van to get to the beach was nice after a long day in the sun, and it was a nice atmosphere, quiet and just off the busy road so not loud at night with people...

Nice hotel, great location for town centre, clean & with its own private access to beaches below via a vertiginous stairway down from the hotel. NOT for fainthearted though, given its vertigo-inducing gradient. Breakfast is poor, terrible coffee from a Nescafe machine, always breaking down & with queue of guests to get coffees, & limited choice. Never had scrambled eggs as poor.

Nice cosy place. Owner is nice but be a bit patient. In the winter time he was the only one there so he has quite much to handle. Breakfast is decent: butter, cheese, ham, sweet stuff and fruits. Rooms are decently sized, pretty clean. Access to the sea is good. Overall would recomend but do not expect luxury.
