Tropea is a wonderful small town with beautiful historic buildings. The beach is clean and the colour of the water is turquoise. Breakfast had a great choice of foods. Hotel is very good, friendly staff and a great view on the beach. Room was comfy and the AC worked well.

So far the best hotel of this trip in Italy. Large, comfortable room with safe, great Wi-Fi, pleasant temperature, as well as climate control. View from the hotel and room -directly over the sea, it is possible to see the Stromboli from afar. I spent a very relaxing week at Hotel Rocca Della Sena in Tropea. The location could not been better, very close to the historic town centre yet very quiet. The terrace has a superb view to the sea. Breakfast was lovely, varied, and the staff extremely friendly and professional. It was a pleasure to spend time there and I will certainly be back with the family or alone!

We stayed for two weeks in July. Quiet place, five minutes by car from Tropea and within easy reach of all the most beautiful beaches in the area from Capo Vaticano to Zambrone. Fantastic staff, really friendly and welcoming. Always helpful. Relaxing environment. Great breakfast options in the morning and great food at the restaurant in the evening. Amazing service, lovely rooms with a nice pool to relax by. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Big bang for your buck. This gem offers excellent food, outstanding service and breathtaking views. The rooms are modern and well kept but the building's envelope needs some major work. As I understood it’s family runned business. They stuff is very kind , however doesn’t speak well English . More than a simple B&B! The hosts are very welcoming and super helpful and are capable of making you feel at home. This hotel is completely over rated! The food is horrible and the free alcohol is watered down. The pools are not heated including the hot tubs. Everyone smokes everywhere. The beach has no sand just sharp rocks. There is no adult pool even thought their website states it’s an Adult Resort! Babies and kids everywhere. No Concierge service and limited elevators.

Big rooms and nice pool I would have given 5 stars but our AC was broken... Hotel is on a hill so expect to walk a decent amount into town. The shuttle is $30 to the beach.

Lovely pool. Staff are excellent: helpful and friendly. Everywhere is spotless. Room and breakfast were ok. Had to reserve spaces on the minibus to the partner beach (Lido Alex) the day before. Had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Tropea. I have celiac disease so it's always lovely when a place can accommodate you without worry. The staff at the hotel and restaurant went out of their way to make sure everything I ate was safe and that I had options. The dinner was fantastic. The small hotel was clean and in fairly good condition. Rooms are of variable size. Hotel staff was helpful though slightly lacking in language skills. Location is ok but it tends to mean frequent excercise to the old center on top of the hill.

The hotel is nice, reception staff let us check in earlier but they tried to charge us €20 to borrow beach towels.. what hotel charges for beach towels in Tropea??? Not even a deposit, the full amount just to use a towel for a couple hours and return it… cheaper to buy a new one and keep it.

My general experience was around or a bit below 4* - the hotel location is okay (close to the centre and to the railway station, but no nice views around), old but clean furniture, comfortable beds with uncomfortable pillows. Street noise was quite noticeable, earplugs were needed. Breakfast was okay, too. I'm giving the 5th star for the courtesy and kindness of the hotel staff :) thanks!

Great location, close to everything, and the restaurant attached was absolutely fantastic! All was great except for the toilet issues, it would flush and not stop and sound like it was going to fall through the floor. Otherwise having access to a van to get to the beach was nice after a long day in the sun, and it was a nice atmosphere, quiet and just off the busy road so not loud at night with people...

Stayed for 11 days at la roccette mare at the end of June. We booked a hotel room, but got an apartment instead. The apartment was really nice looking, recently renovated and had all the necessities you need. The staf at the reception is really friendly and able to help you in English. Nice hotel, great location for town centre, clean & with its own private access to beaches below via a vertiginous stairway down from the hotel. NOT for fainthearted though, given its vertigo-inducing gradient. Breakfast is poor, terrible coffee from a Nescafe machine, always breaking down & with queue of guests to get coffees, & limited choice. Never had scrambled eggs as poor.
