The Staff was nice, the room old and a little bit moldy, the view from the room was nice, the breakfast was fine, the eggs a little bit too much. The view at the breakfast was just awesome. Furthermore the Location is great, you just walk out of the hotel over a bridge and you are standing on the Piazza San Marco.

Very disappointing hotel. I do not recommend staying here. There are many other hotels in good locations in Venice. This one isn't worth the money.
I booked here because it had a good restaurant and a bar with appetizers. As a single woman on my 1st night in a strange place I like to eat and drink at the hotel. Then with daylight the next morning explore the area.
When I arrived I was told the bar would open at 7. It didn't. The restaurant is closed except for breakfast. There appeared to be no place to buy food other than the Hard Rock Cafe. Not my kind of place so I had no dinner on my 1st night in Venice.
The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible. I looked forward to the breakfast which turned out to be mediocre. The "omelet" was rubbery. The croissant was warm but soggy inside. Tasted sweet. Did it have some sort of filling? Not sure. The fruit salad was not very good. The coffee was not strong. Now I understand why some reviews mentioned going somewhere else for breakfast and that is exactly what I am going to do tomorrow.
Today after exploring the city and going to a concert I returned to the hotel about 8pm. No bar again. In my room: no water. Front desk is calling someone. I realize this is totally out of their control but it is beginning to make the stay in this overpriced hotel into a nightmare. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location-literally across a little bridge and you are at St Mark's square. What you get for your money is just a room. Absolutely no service.
I will not return to this hotel again.

Over-all a nice hotel. Very good location, located just a few metres from the San Marco square. We didn't have any warm water in our room and the WiFi didn't work, but the rest was all just fine.

Very nice hotel. Extremely good location and quiet. We loved the view from the room on the canal, breakfast was good and staff was super kind. I would definitely go again.

The staff here are very rude and when I asked to change my room they insisted I pay extra after having paid an extra 70 dollars a night already. They did not approve my refund request before even staying an hour here so I was required to stay in their hostile environment. The front desk only felt more threatening after all of this occurred. The location is great though, very central and perfect to walk around. Way overpriced for what you get here.

This hotel was in an excellent location. Walking distance to San Marco Square and restaurants/cafes. My husband and I stayed here with an open mind as it is one of the oldest hotels in Venice. And the pictures on the website advertised very beautiful rooms that went with its old era. However, we were very disappointed. The front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming. The room was extremely small, when opening the door to the room you almost hit the bed with door. The air conditioner is merely a blower fan that circulates the warm air in the room. The shower was so small you hardly fit in it without your shoulders hitting the doors. For the age of the hotel it looked clean and well maintained. The buffet breakfast was good and does get crowded if you go after 8am. Overall, I believe it's over priced (the most expensive of the three hotels we stayed in during our travels in Italy) and would not stay here again.

Lovely hotel, looking onto the back of marks square. Great choice for breakfast.. Hot and cold food available. Perfect location for your visit to Venice as you can find the hotel easily and return in the evening without pulling out a map . certainly will come back and stay here. FYI google maps won't work here as the streets are so tiny. You could be 20' off but that's a different street. Amazing

Our room is spacious, clean & nice with some beautiful artifacts. The bathroom has been remodeled and is very beautiful & functional for Italy. No AC cause it's to early in the season, days are mid 20's C so room is a bit uncomfortable till evening. Breakfast buffet is very nice & the food is hot!

This 4-star Hotel Cavalletto and Doge Orseolo of Venice overlooks the Orseolo Basin which is one of the most famous and enchanting places of the old town centre, with an exclusive access to the splendour of Saint Mark's Square only 50 meters or so awa and the Doge's Palace which is a must visit when open. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and well maintained through the building. The rooms of course are Venetian styled as you'd expect and perhaps not as large as you'd expect but very comfortable. However, you will definitely enjoy the relaxed atmosphere throughout and with impeccable service provided by the friendly and attentive staff who are always at hand and willing to help and advise. A number of rooms have great views and you simply pass the time by watching the Gondolas and other boat traffic pass by. A great choice for a hotel in which to stay if you are visiting the historic city of Venice.

Great location. Almost next to St. Marks Square. Great service. Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast. Room faced wall opposite but it was worth staying there for the location. Room clean and beds comfortable.
