Petra Nights Hotel in Wadi Mousa

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, and it seemed like there were no other guests, we were 20 people. The first surprise was that some of us were given rooms on the 5th floor and the lift only went up to the 4th. As for the rooms, there was everything, some carpeted, others tiled, but they were all very dusty, the furniture and doors had not been cleaned, and they were very small. The first meal was dinner, which already indicated what awaited us, a fair dinner, and very, very weak, the desserts were awful. Breakfast was very weak, everything was very sparse, salads with leftovers from the previous dinner. We spent that day in Petra, on our return dinner was exactly the same as the day before, we had dinner in shifts, as some were going to the Petra Night show, they even told us to have dinner at 7 pm so they could close the dining room earlier, dinner was from 7 to 10 pm, they said no. The good things about the hotel were: - The lobby, which has been recently renovated, looks different than what you find in the hallways and rooms. - The terrace on the street where you can have a coffee, tea or whatever you want. - The bar, pub-like.

Very expensive hotel for very poor services. It is located on a busy main road, therefore noisy. My room had a small window overlooking a sordid wall and a construction site. Very dark. Unbearable smell of septic tank in the bathroom. Bed in a bowl…. And staff who were barely friendly. There are so many good addresses elsewhere, and the Jordanians are normally so welcoming… all our other hotels in Jordan were a success, only this one was a fiasco! Advice: run away!

We entered hotel restaurant because of good reviews but at the end we were so disappointed..
The waiter did not speak English well and he could not find the menu (or he didn't want to show us the menu).
So we could choose between chicken with rice and pizza (margharita or vegeterian).
We ordered two pizzas (margharita) that were small and without taste and two Cokes (he had Pepsi) that we payed 40,68 euros.
So overpriced for what we got...

I spent just one night in this hotel, thanks god!!! The room #409 was in horrible condition, see pictures I have made (black mold in bathroom, damaged door rim, screws sticked out from door knob, dirty carpet,....)

Not a modern structure, poorly maintained, it seemed like they had put me on the fifth floor (in reality with the elevator it was the fourth) but I had to cross the restaurant room and get to another staircase that seemed to be the former floor where the employees slept! When I went down I asked the girl how long it took to get to Petra, she answered 20 minutes! I arrived in Petra in 35 minutes at a good pace and looked at the distance on Google Maps 3 km! One will say, did you pay too little?!? No 55 jod equivalent to 70/75 euros! The next evening I found one, cleaner, and only 1 km from Petra, for 45 jod! I do not recommend it

As only positive reviews were found about Petra Nights Hotel, we put our trust in the rating system and booked a room for one night with them. We were happy to see that there was a last minute discount, as well, however if we would know that was a misslead, we would rather pay more for a proper room elsewhere.
We reached the property at midnight. Unfortunately the room was not even close to the pictures and reviews what was mentioned on your website.
First of all, we were informed by the front desk staff named Ibrahim that our request for a double bed could not be accommodated as they were fully booked and had no other rooms available, therefore they never replied to our request, what we accepted.
However we were escorted to the forth flour by another staff, later on we got to know that he was the owner of the property. He led us to the dark restaurant from the elevator and pointed at a door in the back and told us that our room number was 403 and wished us a good stay and left. We passed the door and to our shock we found a broken staircase leading to the attic of the building. Since we were very tired after coming from a long hike and that they already mentioned that they had no other rooms, we continued to see the room. After entering a filthy, dark corridor, we found the small door with our room number.
The room was advertised to be 34 m2, however we entered to an approximately 15 M2, dark room. The smell of the room was already awful, it smelled strongly like tobacco, which for a non-smoker was already a disappointment.
The furniture was out worn, old and mostly damaged, the walls had a bit of mold. The toilet was almost touching the walls both sides and it was visibly broken. The shower was tiny, water lines were not connected to the tap, did not have a door or curtain and was really close to the toilet. Mold was around the bathroom. There was no hot water, only luke warmish, and the next day, only ice cold. The toilet was not flushing properly and was observed to be blocked... The temperature in the room was difficult to be controlled, because it was either too warm or too cold. There were mosquitos around the room and it was almost impossible to sleep, as there were just too many. There were no plug ins around the bed.
Since all this happened in the middle of the night and we were really tired, also knowing that it was high season and would not be possible to find another hotel, we stayed. However in normal case, we would never book in such a filthy property. I am in a state of shock that the mentioned hotel stated to be a four star hotel in your website! As a frequent traveler, i would not even give one star for the same.
The next day, we tried to talk to the front desk staff about our experience, when she mentioned that she cannot do anything for us, and suggested that we should not accept the room the previous night. She also added that this issue is often and blamed her colleague named Ibrahim. She mentioned that as today was weekend, all the managers were on holiday, so she could not inform anyone about our issue or to provide a service recovery. When we were leaving a couple approached us and mentioned that they had the exact same experience.

As an update: we were contacted privately from the property and offered 50% refund if all our reviews were deleted. As I refused to delete, no further communication was received from the property.
