Reviews
Great hosts in Jelena in Goran.
Villa exceeded our expectations in everyway.
Perfect for a family stay. There was 5 of us and we had lots of room.
All the 5 star reviews are a testament to the owners.
Karl and family
Rooms are 5 stars no question, and the host was nice enough to buy us some food because we were coming late after traffic from a car crash.
Only thing that I can complain about slightly is the location of the villa because it’s in a very steep spot up in the village. Though this is not really an issue because it’s still in the lower area in Montenegro.
Really poor breakfast, incredibly loud, no blankets (just some kind of plaid for two!), view from balcony was horrible (to a construction wall - random people working outside in front of the room/balcony).
Normally I go to a villa prepared for disappointment, I can see how they used a wide angle lens, or how its basic or how there is noise... generally I quickly find the problems and can be let down.. I'm back from Villa Dub and I can honestly say this place is the exception.. it was considerably better than advertised.
We were met near the villa by Goran who is a lovely friendly Gentleman, he took us to the villa and gave us a tour of all the amenities, no key safes here!
Goran and Jelena had thought of everything, providing a LOT of essentials so we could just start relaxing, even providing a wifi dongle so that we didn't need to pay for a Data Sim while out and about..
The house itself is palatial, nicer amenities than at home, beautifully and carefully decorated with every utility and item you could possibly need.. even bath robes and towels for the pool.
At the pool there was a fridge, a nice fan, beautiful gardens. There were so many 'little things' that had been thought of and included, slippers, cotton buds, lots of toilet roll, shower gel, even a juicer and smoothie maker. It got to the point where we discovered some new really thoughtful thing and our reaction was 'wow, but why am i not surprised?'
Most places you get a 2m wide pool and it looks stretched in the photos, the photos here do not do this justice at all, it was big enough to exercise in even with a swim-spa-jet for those who want to exercise in the 33'c heat of July in Montenegro.
The Gym and recreational areas were immaculate and Goran shared some family history based around the Villa which was really good to hear and it made a bit of a connection to the area.
The evenings sitting on any of the multiple balconies or terraces were amazing.. watching the sunsets are memories that will last a lifetime. It is amazing to watch all the private jets of the rich and famous coming in below the height of the villa and land at Tivat.. It is close to the airport, so I couldn't fly a drone, but not noisy enough to be a disturbance, the flights were from about 8am-8pm so no night time flights either.
The Villa is on a rural road which can be quite narrow and nerve wrecking the first time you drive on it, but having driven once it becomes not an issue. Its conveniently located close to the over-hill route to Kotor which is now one of my favourite roads in Europe, or you can go down to Tivat along the main Road, or cut through an industrial estate to the Kotor Tunnel.
Throughout our stay we had relied upon information supplied by Jelena for a boat tour, some good parking tips and tourist information, all was spot on and perfect.
A car is essential, but that is the case for anywhere in Montenegro if you want to see the sights and make the most of it, In the vicinity of the Villa are a number of supermarkets, filling stations, bakeries, pizzarias etc.. the Kotor Cable car is 5mins away.
This was a holiday to remember, one where no-one wanted to leave and where everyone commented that they want to come back again, 100% no regrets.
In short, it blew away my expectations and the warm welcome we received continued to exceed all expectations.
Thank you Goran and Jelena for making our time a wonderful holiday to remember.
Villa Dub is the best place to stay in Montenegro, and is perfectly situated to easily explore everything you would want to see by car. Thank you Goran and Jelena!
Great location especially for calm and relaxing.
All you need are available in the villa.
Above all of that, hosts Mr. Goran and his wife Jelena were friendly, helpful and amazing.
Thanks a lot to them.
