This has come to be my favourite hotel in Penang now. Very close to the beach (though not recommended to swim at the beach). Well kept room. Friendly and warm staffs. Will surely be back whenever i return to Penang.

Very good services provided by every staff in the hotel. Break fast is good with many choice and seafood buffet at Friday/Saturday night is good too but bit slow in restock the seafood. Room is spacious but view not very good as booked the sea view but the view is blocked by trees. Asked to change a room and reception also happy to assist and bring us to check the room before change

I had a delightful two-night stay at Shangri-La Penang! The lush greenery and big old trees provided lovely shade, creating a relaxing atmosphere while I sit near the pool or beach. The beach offered nice sunset view, but I am unsure if it’s swimmable
We stayed in the Rasa Wing room, which came with lounge access and complimentary cocktails in the evening. The staff were warm and friendly, making us feel right at home.
While the hotel shows some age, it’s clear they’re working hard to maintain everything. Overall, it was a wonderful getaway, and recommend 👍🏻
Our Rasa Garden room had some water flow / plumbing noises (from the ceiling), even when we are not using the bathroom. Not sure if it’s because of old age building / old building design.

Very Nice hotel and staff, the front desk upgrade our room from garden wing to rasa wing which is more spacious and have prestige lounge and swimming pool for rasa wing guest. Really an excellent experience

Overall, we had a good experience at the resort. My child loved exploring the beach and pool, and the resort environment was wonderful. We even received a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room! However, I was a bit disappointed with the food—the taste just wasn’t up to standard.
The only major issue was with the toilet blind, which needed repair. While I appreciate the technician coming to fix it promptly, I was shocked that he entered our room and bathroom wearing outdoor shoes, leaving dirty footprints behind. I had to clean the floors myself afterward. For a 5-star hotel, this is truly unacceptable—basic hygiene and respect for guests’ space should be a priority

Excellent stay. Gorgeous room offers privacy and fantastic sea views. Buffet breakfast with a good spread and best of all the staff was attentive and friendly. Efficient service throughout and the beautiful grounds were well maintained. A little dated but still a 5 star rating. A special mention for a special staff, Ms Revathy. Courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and genuine.

Beautiful resort with impeccable service
The rooms are nice and clean, our room had a balcony which was nice.
The pool is clean and wasn’t overcrowded during our visit. There is also a deep end to the pool. The beach is small but very clean and has amazing views across the sea.
