I booked this hotel because it was advertised as “dog-friendly,” but unfortunately, my experience didn’t reflect that at all. I don’t mind paying extra for my dog to stay with me, of course, I understand there are additional cleaning costs. What I do expect, though, is to feel welcome and to have the same experience as any other guest.

When I arrived, I was told that dogs are not allowed in most of the hotel’s common areas, including the breakfast room, the restaurant, and even the bar. While I completely understand that places like the spa or pool are off-limits, being excluded from breakfast (which I was paying for!) was very disappointing. It left me feeling like the hotel charges a pet fee but doesn’t actually want dogs around.

For me, being dog-friendly is more than just allowing pets, it’s about providing an environment where guests who travel with their dogs can feel included. That could mean a designated section in the breakfast area, clearer communication in advance, or even small touches like water bowls. Without these, the “dog-friendly” label feels misleading and more like a way to make extra money rather than a genuine effort to welcome guests with dogs.

If you’re traveling with your dog, just be aware that while they’re technically allowed here, you may not find the stay as dog-friendly as advertised.
