Radisson Hotel Szklarska Poręba

I booked this hotel because it was advertised as “dog-friendly,” but unfortunately, my experience didn’t reflect that at all. I don’t mind paying extra for my dog to stay with me, of course, I understand there are additional cleaning costs. What I do expect, though, is to feel welcome and to have the same experience as any other guest.

When I arrived, I was told that dogs are not allowed in most of the hotel’s common areas, including the breakfast room, the restaurant, and even the bar. While I completely understand that places like the spa or pool are off-limits, being excluded from breakfast (which I was paying for!) was very disappointing. It left me feeling like the hotel charges a pet fee but doesn’t actually want dogs around.

For me, being dog-friendly is more than just allowing pets, it’s about providing an environment where guests who travel with their dogs can feel included. That could mean a designated section in the breakfast area, clearer communication in advance, or even small touches like water bowls. Without these, the “dog-friendly” label feels misleading and more like a way to make extra money rather than a genuine effort to welcome guests with dogs.

If you’re traveling with your dog, just be aware that while they’re technically allowed here, you may not find the stay as dog-friendly as advertised.

Polite and helpful stuff. Restaurant has an inspiring menu - a taste has been always a matter of the taste. Tiny bar in a front of reception - does not match the hotel size.
Cosy interior pool, being packed in afternoon hours due to its size. Large area around the hotel - averagely maintained. Half of rooms with a view on construction area and parking lot.
All in all - positive, but doesn’t seem to be a „Radisson Standard”.

My stay in this hotel was just one step off my trip, but gave me a perspective. I took the mountain view apartment, and it was nice, spacious & clean. One small comment though, instead of having two showers in the apartment one bathroom could have a bathtub (handy if you are traveling with a 4 year old). Hotel is new, however located 3 km from city centre a there’s no shuttle bus.
Serviece? True story: I’ve arrived in the evening and asked for additional blanket for my daughter. The reception deck acknowledged it each time, I gave up after 3 asked and eventually ended up with sleeping without a blanket at all in the 300 eur apartment for a night. When you complain each time you get safe response: I’m sorry we have high season. Can I checkout later? (I have premium status) I’m sorry we have high season. The elevator is not working- I’m sorry we have high season. Etc.
Generally you feel like you are here for the staff (so they get their compensation) not they are for you.
Although the hotel building is nice and the views are astonishing, I will never visit it again, for two reasons:
1. Level of service you get for the price is terrible (even in high season) , and have example from my other stays in the last couple of days
2. You simple don’t feel here like home ( in to a degree you actually can feel in a hotel like in home of course)
