I booked a 3-day spa program at Absolute Sanctuary and after just one day I’m already blown away. The whole experience has been amazing so far.
The staff are so friendly and accommodating – nothing is too much trouble. They’re happy to adjust the schedule to fit in extra treatments, which makes the stay feel really flexible and stress-free.
The food is a real highlight. Every meal is included in my program, with plenty of delicious vegetarian options. You get to choose two dishes for each of the meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), plus a fresh juice with each meal. I also got two extra juices (or can be swapped for one protein shake) from the Vitamin Bar each day. Everything tastes fresh, clean, and nourishing – no additives, just really good food, juices and teas.
The whole place has a wonderfully calming atmosphere. It smells amazing everywhere, it’s easy to relax, and as a first-time solo traveler I’ve felt completely comfortable and at home. There are plenty of activities to join in on, but it never feels overwhelming. They even include trips to nearby night markets, which is a nice touch.
Overall, Absolute Sanctuary is living up to its name – it truly feels like a sanctuary. I can’t wait to experience the rest of my program!

I went to the restaurant for lunch. It was a big disappointment. I paid $12 (twelve) for what turned out to be a thimble size serving of a “health” drink. It tasted like it was cold water and macha powder. After drinking it I was left with a lot of sediment at the bottom of my glass. Hopefully it wasn’t all the “healthy” bits of the drink. I then had prawn rolls. They normally will have lots of flavor of mint and other herbs but they were tasteless. They came with a sauce that is normally served with satay. I then had chicken breast rolls with spinach that were equally tasteless and came with a sour cream sauce. Both dishes were served with cucumber and carrots that were dry and tasteless. I was left hungry and totally underwhelmed after paying $36. I think that meal was a tasteless and deeply unsatisfying rip off.

I was looking for a retreat that combined fitness and wellness, and Absolute Sanctuary truly gave me more than I hoped for. My room was spacious, beautifully designed, and had the most calming sea and pool view. It was gorgeous at any time of day - and even on rainy evenings I loved drifting off to sleep with the sound of raindrops falling from the palm leaves outside. The whole place feels peaceful, hidden away from the main road, so you can really switch off. I was impressed by the variety of classes and the knowledge of the teachers and wellness experts - there’s so much to explore that every day feels enriching in a new way. The staff made the stay even more special. They were warm, attentive, and seemed to notice the little things I liked without me saying a word. It really made me feel welcome and cared for. The rooms were kept spotless, always fresh and clean. The food at The Love Kitchen is truly healthy - perfect if you want to slim down or feel lighter. Moments by the pool, sipping fresh juices from The Vitamin Bar, were amazing. Coffee lovers, though - you might want to bring your own, or try going without and embrace the detox (I’ll admit, I still needed my coffee 😉). I’d love to return, and I can definitely recommend Absolute Sanctuary if you’re looking for a place to recharge and take care of yourself.

All in all, I give the hotel 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars. Minus 0.5 stars for the water bottle bill. "Peaceful" and "restful" are the main words I'd use to describe my stay.
The Thai staff here, like all Thai people I've met, are extremely kind. Everyone smiles, and it instantly fills me with joy.
I came in september, and I don't know if the resort is normally this empty, but it felt at times that I had the whole damn thing to myself. Semi-private yoga lessons, the whole pool area.
The only downside was my bill at checkout. Every water bottle in the room was charged at 100 baht (about 3 USD) per 500 ml, with no sign or note warning that they weren't complimentary. Naturally, I drank them, thinking they were included. When I raised it at reception, the staff smiled politely but simply added another charge for the last bottle I had just finished. Not exactly the ending I had hoped for.
Food: The menu is big and diverse, so it should suit most personal tastes. The food itself is a bit mid and lacks the strong flavors I found at other restaurants on the island. I'll give them a pass, since I assume it's optimized for health (less fat, salt, spice, etc.).
Room: Spacious, peaceful, and clean. I had very pleasant sleeps. The only issue is the lack of a clear note on the cost of the water bottles in the minibar.
Yoga classes: The classes were magnificent. Jana is very kind, professional, and clearly talented at her job. I'm a beginner at yoga but also joined the advanced classes, and she supported me through them. At the end of my stay, she even made a personal effort to share tailored tips and advice based on her observations of my practice.
Massages: The ones included in my package were decent. The aroma massage was good, but the Thai massage was below average (or very gentle) compared to the many others I had in Thailand. This was made worse by the fact that it wasn't done in the spa area, because of noise from temporary construction below, but in the jungle room instead.
Despite the disruptions caused by the construction, no reduction in total price was given.
On the positive side, the hotel provided complimentary shuttle buses to nearby beaches and night markets, which was a great add-on.

Absolute Sanctuary is truly a place to relax and recharge. From the moment you arrive, you are warmly welcomed, and the peaceful, beautifully designed setting immediately creates a sense of calm. The rooms are modern, comfortable, spotless, and equipped with everything you need for a restorative stay. The food, also with weightloss and detox menüs at the restaurant is absolutely outstanding – healthy, fresh, and full of flavor, making every meal a highlight. The vitaminbar provides healthy frech juices and shake. The yoga, fitness , pilates and wellness classes are excellently organized, with professional teachers and a great variety that suits both beginners and advanced practitioners. The entire team is attentive, caring, and always willing to help. You can really feel that well-being, health, and mindfulness are at the heart of this sanctuary. A perfect place to reconnect body and mind – I will definitely be back!

An amazing escape to get out of your day to day grind. The place is super comfortable, rooms and facilities are immaculate. The staff and the service are 5/5. I came for a reset, to get myself into a daily routine of exercise as I’ve been missing this with work and travel. It has been fantastic, the Yoga teacher Jana and Pilates teacher Kevin are super amazing, the schedule works really well, you can increase classes or massage if you need to do more. I would highly recommend this retreat for anyone needing to reset and focus on you and your health. The wellness kitchen has a great variety of food and drinks. After 8 days of pilates, yoga, meditation, salt room, steam and massage you are ready to go back to reality with routine and health. Thank you Absolute Sanctuary it has truly been AMAZING!

I booked this fairly last minute - just two weeks before I arrived - and after completing the pilates bootcamp I cannot emphasise enough how much I loved the experience and how grateful I am that I did it. From the moment you arrive at Koh Samui airport, you are looked after by the team and the professionalism and kindness of everyone in the AS team is felt throughout the resort and experience: The rooms are simple and spotlessly clean with a really lovely bathroom space The meditation and yoga classes are treat - don’t skip these in the morning: they are a great way to start your day. Kevin the pilates instructor is incredible and taught me so much about the practice and my form. I’m a vegetarian so I loved all the food options and the team in the cafe are super friendly and efficient. The pool is the perfect place to relax between classes - get the pineapple zinger juice whilst you are there. The spa treatments are a nice inclusion and after doing so much exercise are a welcome addition to the itinerary. I travelled on my own and the majority of the crowd there was also made up of solo travellers. I am already planning my next trip - hopefully in November.

Enjoyed my stay and will be back! The team were fantastic, and loved the 7 nights yoga program.

This place is absolutely AMAZING!
I did a 8 day program and everything was super well put together.
The staff is super nice and the instructors are highly professional.
The facilities are well maintained and the equipment is new and high quality.
