Chi Samui Resort in Bophut

Very disappointed. AVOID..this is a catfish hotel. I have lived and worked on Ko Samui for many years and within the high end hotel industry. This is a very poor hotel..it has a lot of potential but is very unorganised and fits the definition of a catfish. Please avoid at all costs..I have lived in this area. Bangrak and Bhoput in a number of different properties. This advertises a beach club as its main picture and its off the ghost road next to the tennis club down a dirt track and past thai houses and rundown views. The apartments have fully fitted kitchens but no utensils not even a knife or fork. No plates. They have toasters and microwaves but its all for show..the check in was poor and confusing..the hotel has some beautiful aspects and good design hence the catfish title but its taking it slightly to misleading..they advised we couldn't smoke on the balcony and we had to stand on the corridor but they kept removing ashtrays meaning there is no space in reality to smoke. The shower gels and bathroom items had not been filled up prior to check in..no one explained anything. In the morning they tried to charge me for brekafast although I had prepaid..the staff have poor english and gne whole system is unorganised and on the hoof..I paid 180 pound per night. Truly hoodwinked..we went out after breakfast which was awful and poorly run. We had coffee. We also had coffee at the pool bar which were around 12 pound for 2 poorly made coffees. The food was overpriced and severely underwhelming. After returning to the hotel at 5pm after a whole day out at the beach returned to the room not cleaned or fresh towels. Walked to reception to ask for room to be cleaned. After waiting 45 mins I went back down to reception to complain. It was past 6pm and we had no towels.. for 180 a night im sorry but house keeping is a basic not a luxury. If you think im a complaining whining guest check my reviews. What im saying is for this amount I expect clean towels and a bed made..the duty manager came out and apologised and listened to what I was saying and said he would speak to the manager and get back to me..last ever seen or heard of him but they did send a cleaner to clean the room..they close reception before 9pm and state they have a 24 hour contact via the APP..not even going to mention the difficulty in the app but simply state no body responds when you message via the app. They have a beach club on bangrak originally and was popular and presume purchased land and tried to extend or brach out the brand. If you know samui ull know that both the chi beach club and bangrak beach is not the best that samui offers. I would try chaweng beach clubs..or nikki beach or sala or Amari or ozo etc... cheaper ones on chaweng and more premium in tbe better names..either way all.cheaper than here..the pool.was closed in the beach club.. it was genuinely like a carry on movie..avoid this place guys trust me..it won't last long with the service and issues..im perplexed at some of the reviews for this place..authenticity check probably required..im an easy going guest and my history of reviews shoes multiple regular hotel stays with positive and meaningful criticisms. The idea is to share good service to gain its recognition a d highlight poor to allow others not to make the same mistake..this is severely overpriced. Poor location. Poor facilities and is very misleading. I gave the hotel opportunity to rectify but fell short by not even responding. Do not waste your momey here.. the rooms are positioned facing each other and the net is see through meaning that you let everyone see in at all times or u keep curtains closed at all times. The stools in the room are too high..the bed is uncomfortable the TV complicated to use.
The pool is good..the air con is cool..the rooms are bright..the sauna is great but must be requested to be turned on prior. They provide an hourly tuk tuk to the beach road.. needs booking 9 years prior.. Will not return and very disappointed to waste this amount of money in a few days in samuis most premium cat fish..

I checked in today and, frankly, I am not impressed.

The marketing images are misleading. The hotel prominently shows images of a pool located next to the beach; however, this pool is not part of the resort. It belongs to a separate beach club and is not within the hotel grounds. Several guests raised this same issue during check-in, which suggests this is a recurring and well-known problem.

In addition, staff consistently agree with concerns when they are raised but fail to follow through. To make matters worse, one of our suitcases has been misplaced.

We also specifically booked a twin room, yet were given a room with a single bed to share. This is unacceptable.

At this stage, the experience feels misleading and amounts to false advertising. We would like to understand why a twin room was confirmed at the time of booking, only for us to be required to share a bed upon arrival.

The hotel is nice, but manager Nikki very impolite person. When she wait your money she will smile for u, but if something going wrong, she show her real face.
