Maehaad Guesthouse

Probably the best hotel I've been in Thailand. I'm talking a very powerful AC (most AC's are to weak to cool down the badly isolated room) . Super calm/silent area. A nice big bathroom with good water pressure in the shower and a big fridge with a freezer box inside. No pool or fancy facilities, just all you need for a good night sleep. Maybe a more soft bed would nicer but that's just my taste.

If you prioritize your health and therefore sleep. Don't sleep on this opportunity. 😊🙏

Were nice and cosy place with friendly staff. Big clean room with bathroom and aircon. Quiet area would 100% recommend.

Best place I've stayed so far in Thailand. I stayed a week- unpretentious, comfortable, easy stroll to each with great snorkelling, good shower, air con and desk made it easy to work from here. The women who run it are really kind an helpful, and it's a nice quiet spot.

Rooms seem to have been updated recently. Very clean, large rooms. I don’t think you can find much better for the price.

Small hotel with 10 rooms, all on the second floor (downstairs there's a small reception /office, the family residence, and a shop - check in the shop if there's no one manning the office).

Rooms are spacious and clean, with large fridge /freezer, plenty of storage space including a large desk, good lighting and AC. Comfy bed. Friendly staff, and can organise reasonably priced (for the islands) taxis. Wifi worked fine in my room. Good value.

Location is excellent - within a couple of minutes walk to the beach (either coming out of the hotel and turning right, to access from the harbour and Ko Ma side, or turning left then immediately right at the crossroads to access via Wang Sai's restaurant. (Note: most hotel rooms in Mae Haad don't walk out directly onto the good section of beach as most of the main beachfront is taken up by one pricey resort, so unless you can afford to book the most expensive rooms at that pricey resort, you're not really losing out by opting for a hotel off the beach).

There are a handful of restaurants nearby (the one next door is owned by the same family) as well as a well stocked minimart on the corner, and a water dispenser machine 1 minute walk down the street (towards the harbour), so you can refill your water bottles.

Nice and quiet at night. As one of the other reviewers noted, rain on the roof can be quite loud, but it only rained during the night once in my 4 night stay, and the rest of the time I slept like a baby.

Nice spacious room in Guesthouse with 6 total rooms. A/C and Fridge Available.
WiFi only really works downstairs in the Lobby with a ton of Moskitos.
Restaurant next door has nice breakfast.
Everything clean, sink was leaking tho.
