Location: 5 km from airport, 40 km from the centre of Patong beach on the West coast of Phuket, in the Bay of Nai Yang, on the coast.
Consists of a set of seventeen 2-3-storey buildings and villas.
Total area: 141640 m2.
The hotel has 259 rooms.
Beach: private sandy beach and adjacent to the public beach 50 m away (1 coastline). Between the hotel and the beach is the promenade. On the beach "Côtémer Beach Club": umbrellas, sunbeds, mattresses, towels – free of charge.

The multiple pools were a real highlight! The cold towels, fruit skewers etc throughout the day by the pool too were amazing!
Overall we really enjoyed it and would definitely return
The only downside was that the adults-only pool was almost always full, so it wasn’t easy to enjoy a quiet swim.
The only thing that left me a little disappointed was the security guard at the beach gate. He kept asking if I was really staying at the hotel when I returned from having dinner with friends nearby. I completely understand that it’s his responsibility to ensure guests’ safety, but simply asking to see my room key or hotel card would have been sufficient
Despite that small incident, everything else was wonderful — great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely love to come back again!
The rooms are spacious and spotless, and the facilities are amazing: three different pools, all surrounded by nature. There are several restaurants inside the hotel and the food is delicious. Plus, you have a well equipped gym.
The location is also great, right next to the beach. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay - highly recommend!
We always choose a Private Pool Suite and were delighted again this year. Great room and a great garden with a private pool. The garden is partially covered and has a wide daybed, so you can enjoy the outdoor area even when it rains. The garden and pool are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.
The restaurants in the complex are of high quality and can be recommended without reservation at ultimately acceptable prices. I am already thinking about returning to our “second home in Thailand” in 2026. Once again, many thanks to the entire team and especially to Peter from Inga and Andreas
We always enjoy coming to The Slate and are already looking forward to a future stay. Please keep up the good work at this high level. We enjoyed it very much once again.
Let's begin:
Breakfast: trying to get the eggs right is something I eventually gave up on. One would imagine that the person preparing the eggs can get the order right even if English is not their first language. Seemed impossible for them
House keeping: a new first for me was that they refused to make up our rooms. Yes we did ask for it on the day we checked out, but for a five star hotel one would expect that this is possible. Turns out it is not
Bogus Room charges: we got random items delivered to our room and they attempted to charge us for it. Same for our "nightly free drinks". We managed to clear it up in the end and weren't charged, but was a total hassle. Staff should not continuously make mistakes like this.
So my strong recommendation is to ditch this place. Stay at the Marriott just down the road. We stayed there before as well, I would strongly recommend it over The Slate now.
We felt like they continually went above and beyond for us.
I need to deduct a star from my rating though because we had to contact the front desk every single day about a problem with our room. Our door never locked so our room was always unlocked. We told the front desk about this but we only got a temporary fix. Our other problem was the air conditioner. It went out 3 separate times in our 4 night stay and it required staff to help fix every time. I hope the staff addresses those issues with our room before the next guest stays in it.
Last thing I'd mention is that sometimes other guests can be rude. There are 2 adults only pools on the property but one family had their toddler in the pool for an entire afternoon and staff didn't ask them to follow the rules. So sometimes the staff can be a little too nice and nonconfrontational.
Overall it was a good experience though and I'd recommend the hotel to friends who don't mind a few issues with a room occasionally.
