Reviews
the wifi connection is terrible and I got really exhausted in my 1 week stay in here trying to connect to the internet.
the food was not that bad, the only positive thing about this place is the location, being near to the beach and local market.
The phone in the room did not work on all four days. Maybe that way it works for the hotel, since they can't be reached, they are less bothered.
Very limited signal strength, which made wifi access impossible.
No holder for soap, shampoo, and foam in the shower area. Shows no thought has gone into it.
They mostly hire students as interns during summer. As a result, they are mostly clueless. The hotel does get staff super cheap that way.
One day, we found the housekeeping chaps had left empty beer glasses after consuming beer while cleaning the rooms. Guess they forgot to clear their own glasses.
They switched off the wifi sharp when the clock struck 12 on check out day. And if you can believe this: even the power was shut in one of our rooms two hours before checkout time.
The hotel does not take well to complaints. If you share a concern 2-3 times, be ready to face a rude manager who will emerge from his office and address you the way he treats his interns.
Be sure that your complaints and concerns will fall on deaf ears. They seem to have a "take it or leave it" attitude that shows when you demand service.
But not all is wrong. The location is super. Barely 5 minutes walk from the beach, market, and restaurants. It is very well located.
We're really surprised how the hotel managed to get 5 stars...
Rooms aren't spacious, furniture is quite old-fashioned, toilet has no ventilation. The worst thing was mosquitoes biting you at night, it was unbearable!!!😤😤😤
Spa is far from what you would imagine 😆Hamam is hardly warm, the so-called fitness centre is a room with 2-3 training kits. The swimming pool inside was never available for all 10 days((( The only thing which was good was sauna and massage (for which you should pay).
Food: the first 3 days they served beef in big pieces for dinner, there were numerous desserts for breakfast. But! When more and more guests started arriving, the situation radically changed: beef became rare, for breakfast they served only lucum, dry cookies and jam... But at least they did have fish every day, thanks for that!
Now to the negatives, room were not clean at all, I mean they didn't even bother sweeping under the tables in the room, toilets were so outdated and dirty, never cleaned with a brush or bleach, only closed the toilet lid everyday and left a towel on it. The taps were not even wiped once to clean the watermarks. We were living in our own germs in the toilet for a week as I refuse to touch hotels toilet brushes to clean. Room service staff are so young and all male that they were too busy checking their phone constantly rather than cleaning, some days rooms were not cleaned until 6 pm.
Staff don't even have a hoover a brush and dust pan, very old style.
Sheets were stained and not changed properly, one day they didn't even bother making the bed and just left the sheet folded up on the bed, this was the last straw and we complained, management were quick to send someone to sort it out.
Food was varied as I said but the hotel kind of shot themselves on the foot here as that meant they couldn't manage everything and salad was not freshly made everyday. Watermelons were not cold or placed under a cool area at all.
Service was slow and long queues for food everyday.
Staff didn't speak a word of English, which is a very negative point for an international hotel, this made it very difficult to communicate with them and at some point impossible.
Cocktails and alcohol were not good quality at all, white wine tastes like vinegar, only effes beer was good.
Turkish tea was just Lipton tea bags in a massive pot, not a proper tea.
Another huge negative point was that we booked the hotel on the proviso that kids club is included as was advertised on their website, only to be informed by them on arrival that there is no kids club.
Not a five start hotel at all. I would give it two stars and that's for the pool and spa.
The reception was caring and welcoming and very Serviceable they helped us get around the city
The staff was professional and kind and very serviceable They were also fast and efficient and respectful especially room service and waiters who were energetic and sympathetic
The hotel was nicely disposed, the pools were relaxing and well entertained except you need to wake up early to have a great spot by the chill pool, the garden was also very pretty
The rooms are really nice and clean the beds were okay but they feel very comfy after a long day of walking 😂
The rooms by the pool have a nice view and balcony and they were pretty spacious
The food was great and drinks were nice, the food had variety everyday and really everyone gets it to his taste the restaurant was big and spacious and had some animation from time to time...
Except the fruit juice and coffee weren't as good
Aside from the good quality/price rapport and the good food for days where you're too tired to go out or that you don't want to spend more going out
(Food in restaurants very expensive in bodrum)
The hotel has a very nice emplacement it's very close to the city center and beach without being too close to be too noisy , we loved the calmness of the hotel ! Everything was 5 minutes away and even the autobuses we're close so you could access everything from other cities to malls
The hotel had access to Leon bar and the fitness center and spa were nice
The wifi and safe box were free too
AC was working perfectly fine and the bathroom was clean and didn't smell , they cleaned changed the trash and towels everyday aswell as refilling the coffee and water bottles
thanks to the staff and manager of mandarin hotel we spent amazing vacations in bodrum, if you are two people or a family I really recommend this hotel
