1. The ambiance is fantastic! 2. The main restaurant's chef seems Indian, and we had a rather terrible dinner. Luckily, we switched to BBQ the next day, which was a bit better. Bookings at the other restaurants aren't easy. You have to book a full day in advance to be sure. 3. The beach party on our check-in night lasted until midnight and was incredibly loud. I made several complaints starting at 10 a.m. Since we're used to going to bed and getting up early on safaris, this was a very unpleasant experience. 4. There were mosquitoes in the room. Unlike staying in a luxury tent, where the housekeeper does daily pest control, I swatted mosquitoes as soon as I entered the room. There weren't many, only about four or five. But I was still worried about being bitten and catching malaria.

We had the most welcoming experience in Melia Zanzibar. We were met by management, chefs and many brilliant staff members. Place was clean and we were comfortable with our stay. Would like to give a mention to some staff members we had dealt with most of our trip. With their kind hospitality and service. They were all good at what they do and very helpful. Restaurant staff - Gidion, Paul, Lucia, Andrea, Bruno, George, Hamis, and khalfan. Recreation activity staff were all very good. A big thank you to Prosper - guest experience agent went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous. He is dedicated to his job and does it so well. Another big thank you to the spa team. Starting with the welcoming manager Marciel and her great team Era, Neema and Boke. Had 3 treatments whilst there and all therapists were amazing. Enjoyed all my experiences there.

This Adults only part of Melia Zanzibar was amazing. Fahad at the pool was the most friendly attentive host! We really enjoyed our days at the pool with him! The rooms were incredible and the slippers so comfy! Only one bad experience at the bar and the Jetty restaurant … we were charged an exorbitant amount for a cocktail and an entre ( we had an all inclusive package, but they were not upfront about the up sale) we did bring it up to management Ashwala and she said she would look into it and correct it, but that never happened… so that did leave some disappointed to an otherwise great end to our African trip.

While we had a few issues, like a bathtub plug not working, Melia was quick to resolve issues and make sure that our stay was enjoyable. The snorkeling excursion we planned through the hotel was wonderful. The variety of food at the restaurants and buffets was a nice change after having a very limited choice on our safari. The pool was very enjoyable. I also enjoyed meals at the pool bar. If you are lucky enough to have Bahati as your waitress, you will feel truly welcomed!

Very good location, service and rooms. We enjoyed the lovely scenery and lovely staff. The only thing that could have been bettrr is the food, for a premium price we paid we expect premium and more variety on the buffet. More exotic fruit, more fish options , better dessert, ice cream... But overall experiemce was great.

Visiting with family. Great resort, helpful and genuine management, many things to do with the family but it's also just nice to stay in the resort. We had a rough start of our vacation but greatly accommodated by the resort for what we are very thankful.

It’s been a week since we returned from Hotel Melia, and we already know we’ll definitely be coming back! It is the best place to relax and connect with nature. The hotel is perfect for those who want to escape to a place of pure relaxation. It is located right by the water. The hotel has many walking paths and areas for observing wildlife, such as: land turtles, donkeys, monkeys, and many others. Everyone can find their own spot, whether it’s by the pool with an ocean view or on the beach. The hotel offers 4 restaurants (one main one and 3 scattered throughout the hotel). The food was most delicious at the Jetty restaurant with a view of the ocean, but each restaurant offered great food. Everyone can find something to enjoy. I think the smallest selection was at breakfast, but as I mentioned, there is something for everyone :) From this trip, I remember two people who made me feel at home: the waitress Bahiti, who from day one showed warmth and kindness, always helpful and smiling, and a huge thanks to Prosper from Guest Experience. There wasn’t a day when he didn’t stop to chat with me and my partner. When we had issues with our room, he tried to resolve the problem and was always helpful, asking how he could assist. He is a person who did everything with passion and always had a smile on his face. The only issue I had was with the room we stayed in. At night, there was noise, making it impossible to sleep, and the decor was outdated with many things breaking down. From the very beginning, we struggled with night-time noise (unfortunately, we never figured out the cause). It sounded like construction work. After our second complaint, we were offered a room change, but by then it was the end of our stay, and we consciously decided not to move. Nevertheless, the hotel is worth recommending, and despite the shortcomings, the views and the people made us want to come back again :)

We stayed for 5 nights at the Melia Zanzibar The Level in a Beach Pavillion room category, and chose an all-inclusive package. Our room was a stand alone bungalow (#56) set amongst lush tropical foliage with a large private balcony overlooking the beach. This was the perfect place to relax and be pampered after a hectic week long safari. We had the most luxurious, pampered experience from start to finish. The resort is absolutely lush, well kept, and beautiful with picturesque photo opportunities all around. The staff have excellent customer service skills, with nearly every employee we encountered asking us how everything was and if we needed anything. The resort has a separate reception building, pool, restaurant and bar for The Level, and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner there. The beach is also on The Level side, which was very convenient. (Guests staying in the main hotel area could take a tram ride over to the beach on our side). The beach itself has a private area for Level guests with plenty of lounge chairs set among the shade trees. Beach bar service was excellent and the Gabi Beach restaurant was a delicious place for lunch. We are beach people, but we also enjoyed some time around the beautiful infinity edge pool, where the staff were there for anything you need. I had my 60th birthday during our stay and the staff helped my husband arrange a special romantic dinner where the staff sang and danced a fun birthday song, and when we got back to our room, it had been decorated with balloons and flowers. There are a few staff members who made our stay extra enjoyable - Lilian, our server would bring us a second round of drinks without us even asking and felt like family by the time we left. Ana at the beach bar was excellent. Raymond, the room service manager, stocked our room mini-fridge with a lot of Coke Zero since we told him we preferred that beverage. I had a wonderful massage in the beautiful spa and found the price to be quite reasonable. We have stayed at some 5 star luxury resorts such as Eden Rock in St. Barths and the St. Regis in Bora Bora, and this experience with the Melia Zanzibar The Level ranks right up there! Thanks for a wonderful experience!

My experience with this hotel was incredibly positive ( I've been here nine and still maintains the level) . The cleanliness and attention to every aspect at the highest level immediately caught the eye, from the lobby and the entire main building (shisha zone, shops, indoor pool, bar, games zone e.g. billiards, etc.), including SPICE MARKET, clean, comfortable, with the possibility of eating outside (two zones for non-smokers and smokers would be useful), full of various delicacies, but practically unchanged, but able to satisfy with their dishes everyone will find something for themselves. TAMU resturant ....SUPER food it's a pity that guests avoid it because it's worth eating here, maybe it should be promoted in some way life cooking ?? Happy hours? Through the gardens, which were raked and pampered daily, the sounds of frogs give a unique atmosphere. Further on, there is a beautiful, very large, irregularly shaped swimming pool with a cascade, numerous sun loungers with umbrellas, there is also a bar, in the evenings once a week a disco, everything is neat, clean, but the bar needs renovation, but as the hotel manager Mr. Vikram Cheekoory,( you can clearly see that he is very, very engaged) I met several times a day, explained to me, you can see that he pays attention to quality and guests at every step (thanks a lot for showing, some of the rooms after renovation are beautiful, comfortable and deserve 5 *) part of the facility will be renovated from May 2025. The beach, it is vast, clean, cleaned every day, fully functional sunbeds. Still, here a SMALL MINUS the sunbeds cover the entire area, because part of the beach is for LEVEL guests (I fully understand and respect that LEVEL guests must have their own area and there should definitely be no other guests there). Still, such a large number of sunbeds on the MELIA side does not provide comfortable rest, the sunbeds are too close to each other, a big plus is CHILI music in the background, but if there are sunbeds with guests talking loudly, the spell of rest is broken and this causes great discomfort, as well as smoking cigarettes or cigars next to it is not comfortable for others.L A larger zone should be created with a greater distance between the sunbeds. Plus there is a zone for games, e.g. volleyball, board games and cards. The rooms do not disappoint with their size or hygiene, as well as their general condition, which is at a decent level, cleaned really regularly and moreover carefully. An interesting solution, separate areas of houses/rooms with their own pools with plants and frogs, beautifully lit sidewalks pleasantly surprise and add to the atmosphere. What must be emphasized is the incredible work of the entire team! Incredibly full of energy evening performances, who try in many ways to make everyone's time more pleasant (big thanks to CX Ana María Walls Gómez). Waiters, cooks, gardeners, cleaners, service people, who despite being tired always with a smile on their fa

We stayed for two days, from February 13th to 15th. We booked rooms in different locations to experience different views, and both the garden and the ocean views were beautiful. The staff were all friendly and the food was good. However, we had to check out at dawn on the 15th, so we asked the reception, and the staff at the desk during dinner treated us very disappointingly. They made fun of our English pronunciation in a comical way, even though we live in a non-English speaking country. They also told us to go back to our room and get another card because the Mastercard logo was on the card machine, and when we asked them to try paying, they sarcastically asked if it was the right card. Of course, the card machine recognized the card and the payment was made perfectly. I didn't know that it was the management policy of this resort to make fun of customers who are not good at English and treat them like thieves. If I had known, I wouldn't have made a reservation, but except for that problematic staff member, all the staff were friendly and the facilities were satisfactory. I think I need to think more about whether it is worth enduring the ridicule.
