Cristal Resort

Cristal would be a great resort so long as you’re not there on music night - the pounding music started before 6pm and was supposed to finish at midnight but actually finished at 2am. All this was less than 50 metres from both the restaurant (making conversation difficult) and from a number of rooms including several for our group (so struggled to sleep). And all for less than 20 people.
And to make matters worse the manager kept his phone turned off and didn’t appear in person for the entire 2 days after we first complained.
Also the following night, the African feast (quite nice) included music and dancing which might have been nice for up to an hour but went on for the entire time we were there (nearly 3 hours) and was so loud that we had to shout to hear each other, so gave up trying (as did everyone else) and ended up going to bed at 9pm just to get away from it.
Also it’s an extremely windy location, perfect for the kite surfers but less so for anyone else.
The main plus is the very nice female staff who were friendly and helpful.

Is marvelous. Staff, overall was good. Only management was very disappointing, since we stayed in a room cheaper than we were supposed to, and they didn’t want to put the exceeding amount of money in our tab and tried to play us around.

My opinion is that this hotel, is the best in Paje. The view from every room is amazing. Instead of building a huge building in front of the coastline like everyone else, left the front free and from every room you have the view of the palm trees, the white sand and the blue lagoon. Unique... you won't find something like that around. The price is high in general, but fair for Paje. Everything was very clean. Super safe place, I was sleeping with the door open. Owners are locals I think, something that makes me prefer this hotel. Better to give money to locals I think. BUT. Because of the attitude of the owners and some people from the staff (especially the lady in the breakfast) I was feeling that they are doing me a favour that I am staying in their hotel. And this was really uncomfortable for me. You go for vacation in a such magical place, you need to chill and relax. And not have people from your hotel to make you feel like you are doing something wrong everyday. The conclusion is that I would choose again this hotel..if they would approve me as a guest 😂
