Montage Laguna Beach
Laguna Beach, 30801 South Coast Highway 🧭 Map
Montage doesn't really need any more five star reviews, but I'll write one anyway. The hotel is beautiful, clean and the staff is exceptional. What you're really going for, though, is the location which is simply stunning. My wife and I love this place!
What a gorgeous place. It was an amazing time here at Laguna Beach and the Montage is an incredible hotel. The food was amazing and the bar was great. The folks were very helpful. We came at a time where it was a hot streak so the building and room was hot. The air conditioners don’t work well, but 99% of the time you don’t need them due to the great weather in Laguna Beach. I highly recommend this...
The location is beautiful- the stretch of beach this hotel sits on is stunning. The rooms are okay, but a little surprising for what you're paying. Very tiny shower and slippery floors in the bathroom. I found that the young members of staff were very accommodating, attentive, and kind, while some older ones were cold or snobby or outright ignored me. I have fashion colored hair and I think that's...
The Montage is unbelievable. Amazing view when you walk in. The rooms are super nice. Most impressive was the level of service. Everyone was incredibly nice and were willing to bend over backwards to accommodate you. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back!
The best room service of all time. That department hits it out of the park! Really enjoyed my high tea experience. Loved my stay and would definitely return. Felt like my room/bathroom could have been a little bit cleaner and paying to park when you are a guest is annoying because it is not cheap on top of an already expensive room.
Very beautiful coastline. we enjoyed the walk slowly for about 45-60 mins. Very well maintained plants and flowers. Unfortunately most of my pictures were my mom that I can't pose. There were some painters painting. It is one of the places I love the scene.

charming hotel and spa. Take the provided beach bag, blanket, towels... borrow some chairs and head to Victoria Beach 😊
Service & Staff are incredible; they go out of their way to make guests happy, and were full of surprises. Great rooms, though a tad on the small side. You can opt up for suites. Breakfast (free) (and food in general) was fantastic. Views are great. Property is cozy and unique. Walkable to beaches and town. Highly recommend.
My sisters and I loved this place. We were treated with respect and kindness. Since there were three of us and because we're Muslim women, they gave us the most secluded room. We were able to relax, take off our hijabs, and enjoy the beautiful breeze outside, hidden from everyone else. Breakfast was perfect. It was simple, elegant, and healthy. The view, of course, is breathtaking. The staff was so...
Got in at eight pm for checkin and was greeted very professionally had an over night stay with massages the next day that vere very professional and polite. Was there for a birthday for my girl who said she had the best birthday in a while. Would definitely recommend this location in the future
My husband and I had a road trip honeymoon and spent a night here. By far our favorite hotel out of all the hotels. We really enjoy our stay. Jon who check us in was very personal and eductated us on the hotel. The updates are beautiful. Wish we spent a longer time here.
We went here for a short get away to celebrate our anniversary. Upon check in, we were upgraded to a mini suite. The decor is beyond beautiful! You feel as if you have been transported to a quaint European Inn. Our room had a view but you don't go to this hotel for the view; you go for the ambiance which is so charming. Attention to every little detail has been thought of from the exquisitely soft...

Lovely rooms, close proximity to the beach/shops/restaurants. Coffee in the morning, wine o’clock and cookies before bed were also an added bonus.
Awesome place to stay on the north side of Laguna. It keeps you close to town but without all the traffic. Walking distance from everything you’d want to do. The hotel itself is cute and well managed! All the staff members we extremely polite! Annette and Chris we very helpful on recommendation on good places to eat and chill at the beach. Lovely place to stay and we will definitely return to stay...
We absolutely loved our time at LBH! The staff were so kind and helpful. We loved the complimentary coffee, warm cookies, and wine throughout the day. Our room was spacious and clean and the pool area was well-kept as well. We were a 3-5 minute walk from the beach and great restaurants and shops. We would 100% recommend to anyone looking to stay in Laguna Beach!
Even better in real life! We stayed here for five days at the end of a road trip holiday. And it was PERFECT for relaxing and unwinding. The rooms are big, well looked after and the beds are very comfy. Staff are great and the pool / hot tub are great if you don't have time for the beach. There are MANY beaches, restaurants and bars all within a 15min walk. My only suggestion for the owners would...
I rarely remember people's names. It says a lot when I say I remember Kristopher's (with a K, not a C) name. He is officially our friend. It's the people that make any experience amazing. Whether you are on a subway, a flight, lost and needing directions, or staying at a hotel. He has a kind personality, fun demeanor, and truly looked like he loves working here. If he loves working here then the hotel...
We stayed 2 nights in room 114 and it was so fun. The front desk staff ladies and gentlemen were absolutely great. We were treated like family. There is wine at 5pm and cookies at 6pm. What a great time. We had to leave in a hurry for San Diego and could not thank the team properly. Thank you so much to the team! This is highly recommended for all to stay. Thanks

We had a wonderful experience at Seaside Laguna Inn. The room was clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Our room also faced to the ocean view which is really great! At the back of this hotel there is a stairs where you can use to get to the beach. Highly recommend you stay at Laguna Inn if you're around Laguna Beach!
Love this quaint hotel and its location. The ameties for the price could be better. You pay for the balcony and the view so I would expect that the patio furniture be more than cheap plastic. The TV needs to be mounted on the wall so that the coffee and microwave look tidy and clean. Maybe coffee upgrade, i.e., Kurig or Pod type. Everyone who works here is beyond nice and accommodating.
Highly recommend!! This is my favorite place to stay in Laguna Beach! Whenever I've planned a trip for Laguna, I always book this place. Not only is the location top-notch, with the ocean right behind the inn, but the room is comfortable, cute, and cozy. I've read more negative reviews about the service/room amenities, but when I actually stayed there I had nothing but a great time! The price was...
A beautiful little inn not even five minutes from ocean access! It was so lovely staying there. Wonderfully modest and a very nice price. The friendly lobby pup was an added bonus. Free breakfast. 5-10 minutes away from shops and restaurants on PCH. Will be back whenever we're in Laguna.
Booked a room for about $150 a night over Thanksgiving. It said ocean view, but I was blown away when I entered the room and realized I had a complete balcony where I could sit outside and look right at the ocean. Clean. Quiet. Nice staff. Amazing prices. The beach is accessible from a path a half block away.
Clean, parking ,very good location. Even a peek a boo ocean view from the back window. We stayed in the Standart Queen Room. We will be back.

fantastic location, free parking under the hotel, free (simple) breakfast, all day coffee, lovely staff, free use of boogy boards etc. Just a really nice and welcoming place
You get what you pay for. I've stayed in multiple rooms at this hotel and all are very different. You buy the nice room, it is beautiful. You buy the cheap room. It is exactly what you'd expect. Still better than a cheap hotel but nothing too luxurious. I love this hotel, it had become our regular stay when in town. Staff is always beyond amazing and that stands above any complaint I could ever have...
Took a day trip to California and last minute decided to stay the night. I was thrilled to find the Art Hotel at Laguna Beach. It was updated and very clean and the robes were the icing on the cake! So happy we found this little gem we will definitely come back for a longer stay.
Everything Perfect!!! Wonderful Place to be. The staff ist very friendly! Very top renovated an clean Rooms! The Beach is up tp 5min away. Wonderful. Little Breakfast included! We would come back every Time!
We loved our stay here. The rooms were nice and clean. My sister and I loved the bathrobes. The beach was in walking distance and the hotel provided buckets and umbrellas. What made this hotel was the amazing staff, they had great suggestions and even helped us find restaurants with amazing gluten free options. All and all we had a wonderful stay and would come back if we are in the area.
Very fine place for the price we paid. The staff was very helpful and there's a private parking for guest. The beach is very close by and the food street is about 30 min. walk (so an Uber is the most simple solution for that in case you don't want to drive)

My favorite place in Southern California! Love love love this location, the view, the beach access and walkable to everything in Laguna. Been coming since 2017 and seen this place improve so much! Piece of Paradise on Earth!
Hi My family has been staying at Laguna Riviera since 1979. We absolutely love everything about it. (We are the DERISO family) We can’t wait to see you the week of the 16th in April. My mom and I always stay in 302 and my brother and his wife always like 508. We are so excited to see the remodeled rooms. I spoke to John the other night when I made our reservation. He was telling me all the remodel...
Amazing location, we stayed in the king room with balcony + patio. Close to a lot of great food places, Ralph’s was down the street, friendly staff! Remodeling was not loud at all, one thing was we got charged for amenities the day we left even though we never used them. I think this should only be charged if it’s used, hopefully this is something that can be adjusted in the future. We will be back
We had a perfect last minute getaway here. The staff was super friendly and helpful with minor things that came up, as well as recommendations for around town. Sunset is absolutely stunning from just about anywhere on the property! We also really enjoyed spending our evening in the enclosed heated pool and Jacuzzi; floating around watching the hanging plants sway above you with palms swaying along...
Love this place! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The room was more like our own apartment with all of our needs exceeded. We spent more time at our place than we ever have before, having a beautiful view of the beach, ocean, and sunsets. We easily walked to many of our destinations and took the trolley to others. Beautiful location, beautiful place, great staff. Highly recommend!
Room was larger than expected, there weren't enough photos of the Oceanview suite when we booked. Good ocean view. Sofa bed was a little uncomfortable. Staff were very friendly.

Beautiful hotel lobby. I didn't stay here but I did have dinner at Larsen, the restaurant found in the back of the hotel lobby. Beautiful downstairs. Gorgeous. Hotel Team was very friendly and professional. Welcoming. Valet parking just outside or street meter parking available.
Went to the restaurant inside. The decor was fabulous, the location is centralized to everything and there is valet parking on the side. The outdoor balcony had a great view of the ocean, perfect for tourism. The menu is limited and the food was just alright.
I was here for a business event on the outdoor patio. The venue and views were beautiful and the catering staff were great. The restaurant and beach club are open while the hotel is being renovated. Great place for a business event or wedding.
We had our early mother's day dinner there last Saturday. I have known Hotel Laguna for many many years. The new ownership/management did a wonderful job with all the changes they have implemented. The bar opening to the patio is such a great idea. The fun and positive vibe is so welcomed at the restaurant. Thank you for giving us, Orange County residents such a great option for dining and having...
Cool new hotel in Laguna Beach, steeped in history. Reopened just a few months ago. Definitely worth a visit. The restaurant, Larsen looks good. Great views or the beach.
The hotel is pretty outdated but has really pretty views. It is pretty hot as there is no air conditioning and only ceiling fans. I was there for a wedding I was in, the coordinator was fantastic however it was an invreadbly stressful day due to a fiasco with the rooms. My bride was supposed to have the bridal sweet the night before and night of her wedding. Something happened and the bridal suite...

We stayed her for over a week for our honeymoon and it was absolutely superb. The service, food, amenities, and everything in between was 5 star. This is a deluxe resort for a relaxing and beautiful getaway. Each meal for all of the restaurants were delicious and fresh. The staff went above and beyond and made us feel special. We highly recommend!
Oh this place is absolutely breathtaking! From check in to check out the staff made sure there was not one want/need that wasn’t met! We traveled with a very large group & the check in process was so smooth for the number of people checking in. Upon check in they had welcome cocktails & water. The rooms were decorated very nicely & very comfortable. Turn down service was Greatly appreciated as well...
Everything was great until the checkout. I had purchased my brother a gift card as a wedding present December of 2020 for $1,000.00. When he presented the card at checkout he was told it was no good by Daniel at the desk as this was now the Waldorf Astoria. He proceeded to tell this to my brother multiple times and was quite rude. He called me and I could hear Daniel in the background. I explained...
Great hotel and fantastic service. The resort, the room, restaurants, bars, pool and even the hallways are extremely well maintained, clean, and very welcoming, but what stands out the most in is this resort are the people who work there. Everyone that I had the pleasure to interact with from the front desk staff, bartenders, restaurant servers, pool assistants, house cleaners are truly the best....
Their is no words that l can that has been said of the resort extreme friendly and go out of there way to assist . I was disappointed with meal. Wow the way they resolved it was to make sure l was extremely satisfied. How many resorts would train their staff the priority goes to the guests. Kudos to management and staff.
This is one of the greatest spots in dana point. The views are outrageous. The staff is super nice and very helpful. The only part that I did not like was that a water bottle cost me 7 dollars. Other the that, it is a great place. Hopefully next time I have more time to golf. I did see that they have GPS on all the golf carts. It was very cool. The ballrooms for meetings were also very large and beautiful

Very seldom when you travel does a hotel exceed your expectations. The Blue Lantern and especially the wonderful stuff accomplished this. My wife and can’t wait to return. Thanks again for making our stay so enjoyable. CJ Demos
My recent stay at the Blue Lantern was my first experience with the hospitality industry since covid that has been positive. Everyone was exceptionally conscientious and accommodating, not to mention genuinely friendly. The rooms were perfectly clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet had a wonderful selection of delicious food- especially the eggs benedict! The location was quiet and private and felt...
Our third time visiting, breakfast included great view. There's a lot of busy noise from the street and inside the hotel
Wow. Comfy and cozy bed and breakfast inn. Private and clean. Friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious breakfast. Great marina and ocean view. Just a stroll around the corner for fine dining and the Lantern District shopping.
Love to stay here until the prices skyrocketed, my wife and I used to enjoy staying a couple nights here on special occasions, for us the best rooms were always with a ocean view! Great breakfast, cookies and wine in the evening! We recently visited Ca, after moving away 4 years ago, we did stay here only because of the price increase, as a matter of fact we haven’t stayed here in probably 8 years...
What a great little hotel. Room was awesome with great views. Awesome free breakfast and wine and cheese happy hour. And if you have to work a lovely library lounge with a big screen tv so you can watch March Madness while answering emails

I DJ weddings & special events here often. The ballrooms and staff are the best. The food & service are excellent. Views are spectacular and the guest rooms are very nice. Highly recommend.
Very nice resort! Beautiful location close to beach and marina with 2 pools. Most rooms with patios or balconies. Top floor rooms have bay windows. Has a lot of charm with contemporary and updated rooms and public spaces. Top floor rooms have bay windows. Friendly, attentive staff! Great place to spend a weekend away from the crowds. We will be back!!
Okay, so we love this place. However, this time on my July 24 birthday we were woken at 3:30 AM by super-loud and obnoxious hotel worker picketers! They banged loud drums and screamed over megaphones from 3:30 to 10:00 AM. Apparently sheriffs came, but couldn’t stop them. We got nearly zero sleep. Nothing past 3:30. Worst hotel stay I ever experienced. The manager agreed to comp us for a future stay...
The good, bad and happy ending. Good, overlooking Dana Point Harbor, seeing the ocean, hearing the seals but at a distance so their barking sounds pleasant. NO CARPET which is a must for me as I am allergic to carpet and so few hotels understand this need. Pleasant room. The bad was a loud event planned just outside my room window when I returned on day 2 evening, and even with window closed the music...
I stayed in two different types of room - one is one king bed located in the other side and the other is two queen beds with ocean views located in main building. My experience was the room in the main building is kind of lack of maintaining - flood in shower room, no the clean, wifi signal weak and stupid functioning of air conditioning while the king bed room in the other side of building shows better...
Wonderful location and property. All the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. When we checked in I was asked what brought us to the hotel, I replied that we were in town for a friend's wedding and that it also happened to be our wedding anniversary weekend so we were very excited for the weekend. I simply chalked it up to friendly small talk, but the next day when we arrived back to...

We stayed here 6 years ago and we loved it them and we love it now Good location. Great bfast. Lovely staff good size room.
Wonderful staff doing great customer service. From the front desk staff to the breakfast room team to housekeeping, everyone made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Walking distance to the beach and the harbor, and close to places to eat. We will return.
very nice hotel, everything well appointed. should be a 3 star, not 2! walking to beach and restaurants. nice complimentary hot breakfast. 3rd floor suit was very nice also with everything new and modern. only down side is right on PCH, hear allot of traffic.
So we came in as part of a very long vacation, it was one of our stops. We stayed for three days when we got there, we realized our room is quite small for five people.. what more we only had two queen beds .. we have three teenagers with us so this is logically impossible.. when we ordered the room we made sure to put in all the kids ages because we know we need a bigger room with bigger beds . We...
Nice location, downtown Dana Point. We have stayed 3 nights in May 2023, it looks like the hotel is still in the process of renovation: lots of workers, constant noise, walls and and spots are painted as you pass by, and of course the smell is awful. Stuff is trying to be helpful, but for example the receptionist just could not figure out how to print a receipt. Room is nice but far from sound proof...
I had a wonderful stay and will definitely be staying again. I had the room with spa tub and was very pleased. Nice hotel and staff. Decent breakfast, pancake machine was cool and they tasted good, only wish there was a protein like bacon or sausage (typical breakfast staple) not chorizo and egg. The TV kept glitching no matter the channel so that was really annoying. Bed was stiff but still a decent...

I stayed here after reading all the reviews about the family run location and the positive interaction with the staff. While we only stayed a night and arrived at 10pm, Phil and his wife were all smiles upon my arrival, told me all about the beaches and things to do. He also mentioned his wife's secret coffee recipe, which I had the following morning and it was wonderful. Pleasant experience, no...
My husband and I stayed here for 2 years in a row for our anniversary (married for 11 years) and it was the most relaxing vacation/stay! First time we stayed there we had the jacuzzi tub room. The second time we had the ocean view room with balcony. Both stays were soooo memorable. Phil, his wife and staff have made it more than perfect for us. If we could, we would make it a tradition here every anniversary...
Just remember this is on the opposite side of the highway as the ocean and the train tracks. We stayed in one of their newly remodeled rooms that was oceanfront. It was definitely as close to the ocean as you can get in that area. But it is still across the street and the train tracks from the ocean. The view was still very nice especially in the morning. The management and staff were wonderful friendly...
The size of the room was great, it was clean, parking is easily accessible and staff was very friendly. Really cool little hotel, close to the beach and relaxing atmosphere despite the road in front of it.
The room we stayed in was recently redone, spacious with a beautiful view. However, the best part was the warm staff that manages the hotel. The (I think) husband and wife team were extremely friendly and went out of their way to add little touches to the stay such as warming up the room before we arrived in December. We will definitely stay here again when we come back down to visit family.
I stayed in an Ocean View Room with a balcony and the view was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is directly across the street from the beach and there was no obstructed views. I also like that the hotel is a smaller more intimate environment. The room is modern with really nice decor. Everything thing is set up nicely (including fridge & microwave) to fit the room perfectly. I felt like I was at...
