Reviews
Pros: I like that they try to keep the local vibe in the decor. It felt cozy and urban. The breakfast burritos were on point. Housekeeping came everyday (unlike the usually every other day touch up which has become a more standard practice). They did not skimp on pillows.
Cons: Road noises were a bit of a problem. The high top desk was the only area of improvement for me furniture wise', mostly because I was here for work and needed to do some writing. They did have big tables in the lobby I used in the mornings. The bed was low, like Japanese style, that was fine for me, but might be a concern for someone with back issues.
Neutral: The hotel didn't have their own parking, but the garage next store worked fine. It is older and rough looking but had no issues. City parking prices but didn't feel gouged.
The room was definitely not what we expected from a Hilton. To say it was small is a huge understatement!!! There was NO Closet, No Dresser, No Mini Fridge, and my favorite part of the room experience is that the bathroom is floor to ceiling frosted windows that are open to the room so every time someone goes to the bathroom in the middle of the night the automatic lights turn on and light up the entire hotel room like an airport landing strip!!!! On the website they brag about the beautiful views from the windows but our diamond member view was a brick wall that we could literally touch if our window opened. Thank goodness we had shades to pull down that had giant eye balls staring back at us all day and night…. Can’t make this stuff up!!!! $3800 for three ridiculous nights at this hotel unbelievable rip off
I also loved requesting cleaning services in the morning only to come back and find it not done three days in a row. The water pressure was nonexistent and Luke warm at best for shower.
There were two pluses… The beds were comfortable and the rooftop was nice…
The room is small, doesn't have a closet and the shower is a low water pressure "waterfall" type head. Not a great experience.
I asked the front desk for more towels, which they never sent and calling down to the front desk only leads you to the reservation system, which isn't on site. There is also no in room coffee.
The rooftop bar area is beautiful, but the service isn't. The wait staff can't wait to not be there and the food is overpriced for the quality.
Overall, lacking in any real amenities, poor service and really not bringing any value I would say the property is not one I would invest time in seeing.
The vibe is funky, eclectic, urban, and bright. They have a speakeasy, a rooftop bar, serve organic coffee and high quality ingredients. I spend 100+ nights a year in business hotels, so it’s always refreshing to stay at a hotel that matches up more with my interests.
I always talk about how you can measure service by how a property handles it when something goes wrong on their end. My stay was a good example of when the customer makes a mistake, and how the service team reacts. I accidentally booked one night instead of two (I’d been doing seven 1-2 days stays in a row, so my brain was a little fried). When we got to the hotel at midnight on a Friday, and found my error, Mark was quick to find two open rooms and get us booked for our stay. There was 5 minutes of panic, but Mark took awesome care of us and we were able to check-in and get a good night’s sleep.
