Hampton Inn East

TLDR- Dirty/poorly maintained location, unsafe because of rowdy guests in surrounding properties and foot traffic. Car breaks ins are normal in this area. Other guests will disturb you and staff will not stop them. Management/staff will falsely accuse you of things you didn't do in an effort to extort more money out of you. Stay away if you are looking for a relaxing vacation/business trip at a safe, clean location.

Full Review: Terrible recent experience. Service and quality of location has gone severely downhill. I was falsely and baselessly accused of something I didn't do. When asked for proof, management refused to provide it and started making prepostorous claims. The manager Lincoln Wakefield is doing an extremely poor job and he has a nasty attitude to boot. If anyone at Hilton/Hampton corporate is reading this, I would seriously urge you to retrain Lincoln in basic customer service skills or ideally replace him as he is ruining this location.

This place used to be my favorite place to stay in Portland for years but my most recent visit after a hiatus has been extremely disheartening. I will not be back unless Hampton/Hilton assure me that this location and management/staff have been reformed. Years of loyalty to this location and the Hilton/Hampton brand all ruined by one seriously bad experience.

This location is now poorly maintained/dirty, many things are broken/not functional like door locks and card readers. Employees are writing on the walls, walls in general look extremely worn. Floors and hallways are dirty and often smell funky.

In the room itself, bedsheets and covers have stains. The AC unit was very noisy and made the room smell funny anytime it ran. Poor sound insulation in the room that I stayed in this time. Stains and unsightly wear on furniture items. Floors are dusty. The knobs in the showers have it so you either get burned by the hot water or its too cold. Other guests stomping and screaming in the room above mine and hallway outside my room disturbed my sleep multiple times.

Breakfast was also just okay at best, the eggs and sausage weren't fresh or as hot as they should be. Coffee tasted watered down, the dark roast more than the light. Selection of items was not great compared to before Covid. Best part of breakfast was the scones. Worst part was dealing with other people's misbehaved kids jumping on the new furniture and screaming at other guests like myself trying to enjoy breakfast while staff watched and didn't say/do anything.
