Grand Hyatt Union Square Hotel

Price a bit high compared to the services.

This was the most affordable yet still somewhat upscale option for us when I was planning a trip around a concert at the Warfield. It's clean, it doesn't smell, you can open a window in the room to air it out, the bathrooms aren't mildewy. There are 24/7 doormen keeping the place safe and also making me feel fancy by holding open the doors for us. They gave us complimentary water on check in. The housekeepers were very friendly and quite kind, we saw the same lady on our floor all 3 days and she was great.

It's also right next to union square which makes Waymo pickup and dropoff incredibly easy AND it's a very short walk from the BART. There's also a 24/7 McDonald's literally around the corner and it was an easy and safe walk to and from the Warfield, even late at night. It was also an easy walk to China town. Really walkable.

All in all we're already planning another trip to SF and will absolutely stay here again. It was pretty much perfect.

These photos are the view from the 24th floor. The $15/night upgrade for a higher room with a city view felt worth it in the end.

Edit: by the way, I have a notoriously bad back but I slept like a baby all 3 nights. Wasn't even really stiff. No complaints about the bed.

The hotel was nice. Breakfast was not included but free as a globalist. It was pretty good. Gets busy and has a small dinning area so arrive early. Texting the staff was the best way to get info. They responded very fast.

This hotel is fantastic to stay at if you are in San Francisco! The check-in desk was very helpful and upon request gave me a high floor city view that made the experience much more enjoyable. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and cleaned my room very well. The location is superb since it’s located near many attractions and good restaurants. I left a review and the manager reached out to follow up on it and I appreciated the excellent service. Quick ride to and from SFO.

The location is good, closed to Union square, but the hotel facilities are a bit old and the lighting is not good

The hotel is perfectly located, just a 15-minute walk from Little Italy, Chinatown, and Market Street. At Union Square, you can join free walking tours led by excellent guides. Plus, all the shops you need are right nearby.

The rooms are clean and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay. The staff is discreet yet helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience.

The breakfast buffet is outstanding, offering a great start to your day. The hotel also features a bar, concierge and valet services, and a dedicated event manager to help plan any special occasion.

They say it's all about location, and the Grand Hyatt definitely has a great location. Located close to Chinatown and a short walk to the Ferry Building, it was the ideal place to base my SF stay from.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff, from the moment you arrive, are friendly and welcoming. There's options on site for dining and a few drinks, but also within walking distance of many other attractions.

I didn't feel as though I was wanting anything, they made sure that we were taken care of from start to finish.

It was a business travel, superior location i would say, good service.

It’s okay to stay at the heart of SF next to Union Square. A bit outdated and small. Staff is ok. Go there if it fits your needs, I might use another one.
