Residence Inn by Marriott Downtown/Convention Center

I have stayed in Marriot hotels for 40 nights this last 6 months and this one was the BEST experience of all!. Thank you for the clean rooms, service, and location! Walking distance

If you're traveling to DC for work at the Convention Center, the Residence Inn is your place to stay. It's clean and inviting. The staff is very nice and accommodating. They even have a Milk & Honey restaurant in the lobby! It's located directly across the street from the Convention Center and one block away from a Metro subway station. Great location! Loading and unloading can be a bit challenge during a busy period as there is very little space in the front of the hotel. Parking is valet only at $57/day. Spot Hero has other overnight parking options with in and outs if that's a bit steep for you. Otherwise, it's a great hotel!

Our second year staying here and its easily the best one we’ve tried in DC. The rooms are modern, clean, and well stocked with essentials. Very hard to find a full kitchen in a DC hotel near the convention center. Has a full fridge with the coldest freezer, dishwasher, stove, and dish/cookware. The counter seating is amazing — we love being able to sit and eat as if we had a kitchen table.

They give you 2 water bottles daily, plus detergent, and a sponge. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower are actually great quality and help reduce my packing needs. We were so grateful for the daily water as we had to pack light and it was insanely hot out. These little details really add to the experience.

We noticed our room was smaller than last year and the setup was different, but it didn’t impact our stay at all. Still had all the same amenities. It was still just as great as last year. I sleep on the couch (as-is, not unfolded) and find it to be the comfiest couch Ive slept on. My brother uses the bed and says its great. During the day, the couch is a huge bonus.

The breakfast is half of the reason we return each year. We love that they make their options vegetarian friendly (egg/cheese sandwiches, vegetarian quiche, ect). Its so hard to find a place that put thought into it. Separating the meat from the sandwich (such as providing bacon separate) allows us to have actual options. The quiche was amazing, eggs are great, insane selection and quality. 10/10 breakfast.

Tips for travelers here — the AC is awesome (ty!) but it has an eco function that will turn it off if inactive for several hours. Before bed, just make sure to press any button to keep it running overnight. Also, the showers are great but its a stationary glass wall. Water gets all over the floor, even if you turn the pressure down. Just make sure to have a towel or two in the entrance.

Nice and clean rooms with room service on both days of our stay, which was pleasantly surprising. You don't get that unless you ask these days. Friendly staff that tended to all our requests. Were upgraded to a suite for one of the rooms on our reservation. Kitchen was super helpful as we are traveling with a 10 month old infant. I ordered multiple food and grocery deliveries to be left at the reception and never had an issue. Good job hotel management! You're doing a much better job than some others in the same class out there.

Wonderful hotel and service. Stayed for a few nights while visiting and couldn't have been more pleased. Room was spacious and very clean, and we even had a view of the capitol dome being on the 12th floor near the end of the hall. Lots of TV and free movie choices for relaxing after a long day of touring the city. Rooftop lounge area and restaurant were very nice as well. Everyone was super friendly and attentive to our needs. Pricey valet parking, but that's expected in a big city.

Honestly, I'd I could give more than 5 stars I would. Everyone was incredibly kind and made us feel like we were coming home. The breakfast was nice, but again the wonderful staff helped put it over the top! The valet was helpful and convenient. They let us pack our car and keep it garaged after our checkout so we could finish out our day again. The rooms were cozy and large. I felt like I got much more than what we paid for. Our family will definitely be staying here again!
