The Point Brisbane Hotel

The Point Hotel used to be our regular place to stay for many years, because of the convenient location, free parking and the rooms were always clean and well appointed. However, we were extremely disappointed with our recent stay after we had not been there for a couple of years. Even though we were happy to be allocated a room on the 11th floor, we were greeted by a horrible musty odour as soon as we opened the door. It was very potent, permeating throughout the entire room. The room decor, carpet and furniture are very tired & dated and cleaning standards have dropped significantly. The room was quite dusty, a table had sticky ring marks on it and we were glad to have disinfectant wipes with us. The glass bathroom door had a broken side-strip and there was a hole in the door where a lock or latch was supposed to be. It’s all crying out for a reno. I was waiting to check out at the unattended reception desk for a while, until someone eventually came out, barely acknowledging me. She didn’t ask how our stay was either. Not the experience we were used to at the Point Hotel and we will be looking to stay elsewhere from now on.
