Reviews
The room was great value, especially for a two-bedroom apartment. It has a nice kitchenette and bathroom. The main living space is also very accomodating. Only comment is that the shower temperature is really sensitive, but not enough of a problem to impact the review
Rooms whilst decent size were hot despite the air conditioning and we were in the front of the hotel where the trams ran until 1.30am and started again at 5.30am so not much sleep wouldn’t stay there again
Service was decent The initial accidental multiple charges for bond and car parking, which did seem to be eventually reversed were a detractor.
Overall experience was a bit disappointing which was a shame. Though the location is great and does have paid parking onsite, I would pass on staying here again.
Was easy to find, but upon arrival found it to be very run down. Carpets worn, poor repairs on walls and on the roof. Chipped paint on the walls, plaster on walls unpainted etc. Guest lounge had a single microwave and a empty spot where a TV use to hang, with just the TV cables hanging out of the wall. Foyer was clean, however after taking the small and noisy elevator to our floor we got to our room only to find it smelt like cigarette. Carpets were stained. One of our bedside lamps were broken, and there was a crack in the mini fridge. Bathroom was small, and the toilet roll hadn't been replaced from the last person who stayed. Shower and toilet looked old and dirty aswell.
After complaining we were "upgraded" to the "deluxe" room, which was even smaller but it did have a king size bed instead of the queen we booked, which was nice. But the bedding felt old and worn. This room was dark, with a single window facing the car park. There was damage to the roof, where there must have been a massive hole, and instead of repairing it they covered it with a piece of ply wood. However a corner of the wood was hanging because some of the screws came loose.
The exhaust fan in the shower didn't work, and the shower was like a pressure hose. Literally the water was hitting the wall behind me before it touched the ground.
Was very noisy as the bathroom window couldn't be closed so you could here all the people coming out of the clubs and bars close to the area all night. On top of that, the noise from trams made it hard to sleep.
Lastly I'm very annoyed that we were not allowed to use the two days of car parking we paid for. It was $25 a day to use the inside parking at the hotel. The first day we arrived at 3pm (our check in time) and were charged $25. Then we were charged another $25 the next day, only to be told we had to move our car onto the street before 12pm. It's unethical to charge for daily parking to only tell your guests they can't use the parking anymore. This was a pain as we had planned to go out for the day and didn't think we would have come back just to move the car out to the street before 12pm.
Pros: was walking distance from the esplanade, restaurants, cafes and lunar park.
I wouldn't go stay here again, and unless you have really low standards I'd avoid staying here.
The room was clean. I'm not a fan of the long life milk provided for your tea and coffee. The mattress was way too hard 😫
And the noise from the passing trams was another reason for not getting a good sleep. Parking onsite is good. I'm not sure why you have to put down a $150 security?
Overall, it's not bad for a 3 star rating.
