Best Hotels in Sydney

It's one of those hotels that corporate or business people uses for when travelling for work. What surprised me, was that the TV had access to downloaded movies and shows of all genres. Was a good library of choices

Front desk staff was very courteous and accommodating; went above and beyond to help me locate a lost item. Hotel is walking distance to many, many points of interest. Room was small but nicely appointed

The team are so friendly, the room has everything you could possibly need. Step outside and youre walking distance to everything. The bed was comfy and was quiet to sleep

I think courteous behaviour could be improved by the staff. Location was excellent though. Overall we probably wouldn’t stay here again when in Sydney

Really nice modern clean hotel. Staff all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was standard continental. Location was central and very close to train station

As others have said, the rooms are quite small as the bed does partly block the doorway to the bathroom

The rooms aren't super quiet given the location of the hotel and seemingly thin walls, but it's not rowdy or noisy at night. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location of The Ultimo is excellent

The hotel is in an excellent location close to the markets and China Town. The front office staff were efficient and welcoming. Members of the cleaning staff saw us with bags and offered to carry them for us

Fabulous little reasonably priced hotel located close to Paddy’s Markets and surrounded by lots of places to eat. The lovely young lady who checked us in could not have been more helpful, even assisting with opal cards

After reading some of these reviews, I felt I had to share my experience from my stay at the Ultimo a few years ago on a work trip. If I could give the team more than 5 stars I would

The evening food and drink options were always good and served as our dinner 8 of 9 nights. The location was amazing, only a five minute walk to the Circular Quay and the ferries, trains, trams and buses

We went to a performance at the Sydney Opera House which was less than a 15 minute walk away. The Concierge staff gave excellent suggestions and was always helpful

To be Marriott, I would have expected better since it’s a very big and popular chain around the world. But the position it is in is the best. It really is and I really recommend it

The hotel itself isn’t the best. The location is absolutely great and in a fantastic spot. Also, the lounge and breakfast area was very welcoming. The elevators are EXTREMELY slow

Although a room was not available, we were given keys to an early arrival suite. We were able to take showers and change clothes, then stored our luggage at reception

This hotel and its staff was impeccable! Daniel at the front desk was incredibly friendly and had a wealth of knowledge to share about where to visit and what to see

I enjoyed a few drinks in the reasonably priced lobby bar with complementary nuts, its a good meeting spot. My room was well appointed with an exceptional bath room and a bed fit for weary travelers

Well located and views to die for. The new bar on level 35 delivers some of the best views in Sydney. Its a bit further to walk to the city but this is outweighed by the fact the hotel is amazing

We stayed on the Easter weekend and were treated to an amazing fireworks show at Darling Harbour. We went up to the swimming pool on level 4, a great location to view the fireworks show. Always a pleasure to stay here

My welcome was warm and personal as usual. My room was on the 19th floor with amazing views of Darling Harbour. The hotel is very close and within walking distance to many restaurants and the Sydney Conference Centre

The food was delicious! There was a big variety of food at the breakfast buffet. The pool view was spectacular. The hotel was child friendly and the staff were so friendly and professional

We decided to go to Sofitel for a little getaway with our 3 year old daughter. What an amazing experience it was. The view was phenomenal, I even woke for the sunrise view

The place was clean, staff super friendly, great location, great room! Brittney/Nicole went above and beyond, as did the other staff. Best stay in Sydney!

Beautiful setting, very good staff service, good food. Only not a5 as we got stuck ordering behind a group of 30, so had to wait too long for food. The staff have is an extra drink and dessert to make up for it.

It's a lovely space, though it can get pretty noisy. It's a pretty typical large city bar. Lots of people doing their best to impress whoever they think cares. The range of beers isn't huge, though adequate

A nice hotel in a good location close to the train station and cafes/ restaurants. Rooms are spacious however not much view outside as there are other buildings close to it. Also has a bar with good variety of drinks

Very close to central station, China Town, Haymarket and the Capital Theatre. Staff were lovely and the meal we ate in the restaurant downstairs was good

Very good location for what I needed. Good value for money and good breakfast Room was nothing exceptional but had everything I needed.

Well located, very close to Woollomooloo Harbour and around 2km away from Opera House. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around. The room is big, clean and comfortable

If you need parking they have the garage underground, but will cost $25 per day. I wouldn’t bother to have the breakfast there as the buffet is expensive $38 per person. You can have better and cheaper options around

That was exactly what we needed! The breakfast was very good! Not the biggest variety, but certainly the best food with some lactose free alternatives. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

Rooms tidy, clean and functional. And of course it is a very handy location. Whilst there is a good free breakfast (I think if you book direct), there is sadly no restaurant operating during the day

Nevertheless, the hotel can pay attention to the cleanliness of the furniture in the room and cleaning of the bathtub. To include a bath gel in the bathroom amenities would be a good idea!

Since the check in time was 2pm and no vacant room was available in the morning, I left my luggage with them and was offered the changing room at the swimming pool to refresh myself after the overnight flight

Recently booked into this hotel. It has a great central location and I have stayed here several times. Unfortunately, on the last occasion there was very noisy building work being done to the spa area

Staff are very professional, enthusiastic and patient. The buffet breakfast has a good range without being ostentatious - highly recommend packaging this into your room booking

The room amenities were good enough for the price we paid for. The only concern was the lift that taking too long to arrive when it was peak hours (like check in/out)

*The staffs are so kind and helpful with your needs. Spacious room, toilet is way too small for a gigantic occupant. *It's a really good location for me as it's just walking distance to nearby activities

Nice hotel with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. A key aspect is the rooms are quiet and seemed to have good sound proofing - making for good sleep and privacy

*Restaurant is just on the ground floor and you can also order for in-room service for your meal if you're not in the mood to go out

The buffet breakfast was a wide spread, even my kids enjoyed it. It's just sad they do not re-heat outside food (for my fussy-eater son) But all in all, we had a wonderful stay. We achieved the goal of relaxing weekend

Reception staff both night and morning friendly and very professional. Room was clean and maintained. Bed and pillows comfortable. Breakfast was okay, scrabble eggs a little dry but everything else was good. Thank you

The hotel is close to the airport, with hotel shuttle bookings available during your check-in for $7 per person that covers two suitcases and a carry-on for each person

My flight was delayed by 3 hours but I had no issues checking in. I had complimentary shuttle included in my stay which I was not aware of so I had paid for it. The staff refunded the amount upon my check in

I had dinner here and the food was delicious and good portioned at a good price, and breakfast was excellent. Again really helpful and pleasant staff

Courteous, friendly and helpful staff smooth the way in a conveniently located hotel in the St Leonards with good access to public transport into the CBD. Rooms are clean and well appointed

I've been here many times in the last year and they're always so lovely and accommodating. The building isn't the most flash you can get but the people are friendly and its perfect for a little getaway.

Had a 4 night stay and then a 3 night stay. Room and hotel common areas spotless, would go as far as saying cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Food in restaurant very good, as was service and convenience

Had a 5 day stay, the location is excellent, the room large, I was so happy when I saw there was a bath, wasn’t expecting that OR the view of the Bridge and Opera House. The bed and pillows were VERY comfortable

Staff at Reception were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again. The Pool is a good size, with a nice outdoor area

Rooms getting a little dated, we had a 50c sized rust/hole spot in our bath, enough of a deterrent not to use for the duration of our 8 night stay. Laundry room with small cost for washing machine and drier use

Pleasant staff, needed to ask service staff for toilet paper and tissues, not sure if this was management scrimping or if it was an oversight, quickly rectified when questioned, room serviced well otherwise

The big bus tour station is also just two minutes walk from the hotel. We even got to watch the new year fireworks directly from the comfort of our own hotel room. The room service food was good too

We had such a wonderful stay over 10 nights at four seasons Sydney. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic! You can walk to almost all the touristy and shopping spots in the city

Maintenance of the room was very good. It doesn’t look tired and the bathroom was very clean, even the fixtures looked as good as brand new. Special mention to Jordan from the Mode restaurant

Straight after we checked in and went out for the night we came back to a bucket of ice in our room and slippers next to the bed and the water pulled forward next to the bed and our pillows set up nicely

We stayed in a full Harbour view club room and our stay was amazing! The view from our room was spectacular. The staff were phenomenal and you can’t beat their club lounge

Another huge disappointment was the credit card surcharge (adding Approx $90 to the bill) Overall a good experience but unsure if I would return due to value for money

The bathroom was very nice, with bath soap, shampoo and conditioner by Gilchrist and Soammes, exceptionally good. The check in and check out service was good, despite the 3pm check in having a queue of 10 groups

The Sheraton on Hyde Park is a lovely place to stay. Anything that doesn't require human contact is excellent

The view of the park is phenomenal…I can look out the window all day. I also love the location as it is close to CBD, but feels like a world apart thanks to the proximity to Hyde Park

A friend recommended the Sheraton Grand after they’ve stayed a few times. So far I’ve enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room is nice, plenty of outlets for various devices

There are a lot of great food options in the area so it’s not a negative for me, but wanted to mention it for people that like to eat regularly at the hotel

The updates made to the hotel are lovely, certainly improving the quality. We stayed in a Harbour view room and have no complaints. Large room, separate bedroom with a large balcony and nice view

Recently, my husband and I stayed at the Star Grand Hotel on the 7/2/23. We took a premium suite package, which included Harvest Buffet buffet breakfast, parking and a $50 dinner voucher

This was meant to celebrate a special personal event. I was a bit apprehensive as I did read up the reviews of the Star Grand Hotel before coming and they did not paint a welcoming staff picture

One of the best and most affordable hotels I've been. This was a mystery deal and they gave us a massive room with amazing bed and bathroom.

I only ate at the fondue restaurant here. A great range of dipping meats, veg and breads and a superb fonue dip. Several different flavoured fondues with different cheeses

I thoroughly enjoyed my 7 nights here. PERFECT place to be during a visit to Sydney for leisure OR work. I didn’t like the loud vacuuming each morning in the restaurant. I wasn’t impressed with the dinner menu selections

A hidden gem of Sydney! A lovely hotel in such a great location and only a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of Circular Quay and the CBD. Rooms were great and the welcome drink on check in was a nice touch

Once again the Pullman never fails to deliver! With the FIFAWWC2023, AFL and Cirque du Soleil happening we sadly couldn’t get a room and had to stay at another Accor hotel, but you can never go past the Pullman for breakfast, and they delivered! Nothing was an issue and Ines was so attentive and amazing

When we enquired about this, we were told that the membership was only showing silver on their system. It was like it knew about the platinum membership for some things and not for others

The rooms are of a high enough quality, but are now starting to show their age a little. The air conditioning in the room also doesn't seem to be as efficient as we have had in other hotels

The location is excellent, all the key tourist places are within a walkable distance

The hotel looks more grand than what the photos show. The room are specious, clean and new. There are a lot of bench space which is really useful. The room has all the basic amenities you need

The bed is really comfy with premium linen and choices of pillows. The hotel gave us a nice treat for our trip. The bathroom is modern and clean

Rooftop is a great addition and we have used for birthday gatherings before (great in summer). Very friendly and helpful staff

The rooftop bar is good for a social gathering but could benefit from more shade for daytime events. The cocktail menu is varied but pricey, and the wine list is quite limited

The hotel has a lovely boutique vibe, I'm sure it has a storied history. The buffet breakfast's were excellent, as was the dinner buffet! The location of this hotel can't be beat if you want to be in the heart of Sydney
