Devere Hotel

Enough good room, but very bad advice on taxi reservation by the hotel. The 13cab taxi from hotel to airport was charged 125＄, unbelievable charge. This is scammer taxi？？, it should not be adviced by the hotel!!!

Only stayed one night, but to say I will never recover is an understatement. The rancid stench when I entered crippled me, both emotionally and physically. Some blankets were provided, which provided ample warmth. But the fact they were soiled with c-m stains was a bit off putting. I woke up to the sounds of something dying, which wasn’t pleasant I might add. Would recommend this only as a place to lay and die.

I have come on a trip to Australia and I have stayed in this hotel for 1 week. I have been traveling from Europe, where it is winter and I brought some jackets with me. a few days after leaving the hotel, heading to the north of Australia, I realized that I had forgotten my jackets in the closet... really an oversight on my part... but since we are here in summer, I really forgot completely of the same... of course... I called the hotel a few days later, surprised that they had not communicated with me to let me know that they had found them in the room, ... and they simply told me that they were not there... really a shame that if a client forgets a belonging, they steal it... lousy.
...if they find them and return them to me, I will change my opinion about the place... logically.

Hotel was broken into during my stay. My credit card data was stolen from the reception. Including data from one month ago which should have been destroyed. The police informed me and the hotel did not (as yet)

Rooms noisy, location good. Value for money okay, ignoring the security negligence.

If you get room 4.28 demand to be changed to another room before leaving reception. It's smelly and noisy the noise is from the lift clunking away 24/7 and the light that comes into the room is bad from another light in the hotel that is on all night. Over priced for what you pay for. Not impressed and will never be back. Staff friendly for sure best thing going for this place and location from Kings cross station is a short walk but don't waste your money or demand a room away the lifts. You have been warned! Further to this the lock on the inside of the door is broken and looks like it has been broken for quite some time. They really need to give the room I was in some TLC can't answer for others rooms. Really disappointed and I am not a fussy person but when a room stinks and is noisy by a lift shaft right next to the room not impressed and how they can even charge for the room is beyond me.
