ibis Sydney World Square

Great location but with so many floors and one lift operating it was a dreadful experience. Took AGES to get the lift to floor 15 which smelt of paint. Then had early morning drilling above. Air conditioning for the heater was hopeless as I turned it on and it eventually kicked in after almost an hour of playing with it. Some simple instructions near the wall unit would be great. Could not fit my laptop (Apple Mac) into the socket near the desk as the plus sits so low the adaptor/plug (yes it was an Australian Plug) wont go in due to lack of clearance. No water on arrival for a platinum member and did not dare venture downstairs to ask for this. Didnt go to breakfast as the thought of trying to seek another lift on going upstairs to my room and then trying to get downstairs with a bag was a nightmare. I would have received included breakfast but just could not face it with the elevator nightmare. Really poor actually. the lift looks like it wasnt just "maintenance" but instead a permanent thing as on the 15th floor there was a permanent border/frame around the lift. I wont be back.

Pros: Hotel’s location is good. Reception staff is friendly and cooperative. Breakfast was good.

Cons:
Infrastructure is ill-maintained and housekeeping very poor.
Room was gloomy and drab. Air quality inside the room was poor. Carpet was old and dirty, probably not cleaned in ages.

Overall, not worth value for money.
