Metterra Hotel on Whyte
Edmonton, 10454 82 Avenue 🧭 Map
Got upgraded to a suite, which was nice and had great views of the city. I think because they’re renovating certain floors? But I booked a room with a balcony and this room did not come with one. Service was great.
Staff were helpful and friendly right off the bat (with parking). The helpfulness continued when we asked for something to be brought up to our room. It was done immediately and with a smile on their face. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and delicious breakfast. Would definitely recommend!
Room was lovely, staff communication was severely lacking. Valet was great. We stayed for one night, they informed us of fire alarm testing the next day between 11 and 5. We asked front desk what time they would need to enter the room, the gentleman said after 12. Also paid 30$ for 4PM checkout.
Next morning, fire alarms start testing at 930, not 11.
Maintenance worker knocks at 1030, not after noon...
Just overall excellence. From checkin, valet staff, breakfast staff, and happy hour everybody went out of their way to help. I'm from Florida and face colder temperature challenges. The staff provided two blankets to make sure I was warm.
Also, the view from our room was spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in our room with a glass of wine looking at the views.
Service at it's best...
Excellent location, clean and comfortable room facilities
Excellent hotel. Well managed and with a courteous staff. Our room was clean and well appointed. Breakfast is very decent. Our room faced away from Whyte avenue which made for a quiet experience. We would stay there again! Complementary wine tasting is a nice touch! We will be back!

Our Team recently held a 3-day event at Sawridge Edmonton. Their dedicated staff including front desk, reservations, waiters, sales, catering, Creations Restaurant, technicians, and cleaners bent over backwards to accommodate us and any last minute changes we encountered with our group. Thank you to everyone there! If we need meeting space in Edmonton again, we will gladly return! Thanks to all the...
I stayed here July 18,19,20 of 2025. Reunion of 4 friends .Room was VERY CLEAN. Hotel staff excellent. Michael in the bar was very efficient and has a great sense of humor. I booked the breakfast included, it was good. Lots of choice. The only warning I can give is that the train runs right behind the hotel at 430 AM (just like the other hotels along that road) . But that doesn't bother me......The...
Stayed for four days on business. The room was clean and well-equipped, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout.
A great choice for a business stay in Edmonton.
Amazing and excellent service.
Fantabulous experience.
Staff is so polite, Big thanks to Leena for their outstanding service! She was kind, helpful, and made my stay even better. Truly appreciate their hospitality. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. Great location and fantastic amenities—highly recommend!"
this is my hotel of choice when travelling for both work and pleasure. The rooms are clean, lots of parking and the restaurant food is good. Shout out to Yordanya at the front desk, she is always friendly, courteous and helpful.

It was very clean, comfortable bed, the girls at the reception were nice, chatty.
I had my wedding in the Hotel and was provided two halls, one for the ceremony and the other for reception; also I had to make reservation in the hotel for family and friend that were flying from other province to attend the wedding. The design and deco of the hotel halls blew my mind despite the pricing being really reasonable. The staff (esp. Sandra, Joan and Rose) were really helpful in the organising...
We just booked a king suite here for our anniversary and it was amazing.
The dated French colonial style they've maintained is absolutely awesome. This building has a lot of history but with renovations to keep the place from seeming old. Huge jacuzzi tub, fireplace, comfy clean bed, robes... I could go on. It was just really nice and a welcome change from the same basic hotel rooms you'd find at...
Great staff! So friendly
The French lady who works at the bar down stairs is Absolutely amazing ....... I have worked in customer service for years and I was so impressed with her. I stayed twice and both times this lady was working her but off and still friendly !!!! She never slowed down and still always smiling and it was sooo busy. She handled it like a champ! She is the reason I came...
Stayed in the Royal King room. Large well appointed room.
The king bedwas well used and needed to be changed out.
The bathroom is huge and has a Jacuzzi and a two person shower.
A quiet and relaxing weekend.
Will stay again
I cannot express in words how good I feel about making my decision to choose "Chateau-Louis" as the hotel to stay in while on my work trip to Edmonton. Clean and tidy room
The breakfast was very simple, just eggs, potato chips and bread, and there was not much space. I was a little disappointed and had to eat out again.
The hair dryer stops after 2 minutes and I can’t continue blowing.
The only advantage is that it is very close to West Edmonton Mall.
Great location if you need the mall or west side. Breakfast was good, the room clean, ample parking.
We had a great stay. Staffs were friendly. Decent breakfast.
Good area location wise. When it comes to the hotel, noise from other rooms can be heard most of the time. It was a good stay otherwise.
The hotel is a good value for the price, except for the poor soundproofing. There’s no view, but the breakfast was decent.
Clean comfortable Rooms and people are nice but , this breakfast is crap . The sausage patties have a stale sort of taste , not good at all , the eggs are ok and the home fries are bland with no flavour. Cooked partially , put away and then steamed at another date . If u stay here then have yogurt and cereal etc . Shouldn't have to drown everything in ketchup to get it down

Not that clean, leak in unit from above & not informed woke up to soaking wet carpets.
Phone not plugged in & did not realize till later so security & safety concern. Clientele were ? And we were later that tge hotel has homeless people staying there.
You get what you pay for, its fine. The water is hot, the sheets are clean, the AC is cold.
Its an upscale budget hotel and thats fine.
I will say though the gym and all its equiptment its truthfuly terrible and dangerous. From a liability standpoint I think this needs to be addressed. I suggest any staff member, or owner for that matter try out the treadmill... how anything in this gym has not...
It's expensive for a reason, the room is very good
The price is very friendly, the service staff are very polite, and the cleaning staff will clean regularly every day. It's just far from the bus, it takes about ten minutes to walk, but it's okay once you get used to it.
The location is excellent and travel is convenient. T&T is only a few minutes' drive away. I will definitely stay here next time.
I am satisfied with the cleaness comparing with the hotel I stayed in Calgary, although it is only 2- star hotel. The front desk is friendly and gave my children toys to play when we checked in.

Friendly polite greeters-receptionists, location right downtown across from shopping mall was excellent. Will def stay there again.
Would not ever stay again
I am a 67 year old female. My spouse was in hospital. Because I’m from Sherwood Park, I was charged a deposit of 500.00!!! I was apparently high risk of damaging the property because of where I reside. Absolutely ridiculous! If my credit card had declined additional deposit, I would have been denied a room. I was up from 3:00 am and exhausted by the time I got to the hotel...
Nice hotel, very clean and large with affordable price. Will come back next time!
Not cleaned very good
Was nice room and comfortable bed but it wasn’t very clean . Used bars of soap left , bathtub not clean
I stayed here for a work conference
Hotel was fine for what I needed it for
There was a transient person hanging around the parking lot which was concerning
The hotel card didn’t work the second night so I had to go back into the hotel twice- was an inconvenience, since I was in the other building ( room 236)
The mini fridge had a bit of a clunking sound throughout the night-
I would stay again...
So-so. More for sustainability.
The hotel was adequate. The room was quiet enough. But the heating system was poor. All the cups throw away and wrapped in plastic. Throw away mini shampoo and so on. More needs to be done for sustainablity. And the decor is dated.
Beds were very comfy.

Nice clean, small hotel. Good location for tournaments at university. Great Irish pub next door.
Pretty disappointed with this last visit on the weekend. Have stayed here many times but this time was a bit different. Asked the front desk agent if there was anything they could do and, displaying absolutely zero effort, said "unfortunately, no". Even a...
Fantastic location. Whyte avenue may be the most fun street in Alberta, and I am a Calgary man, typically biased against Edmonton but you cannot deny how fun this street is. The hotel itself is awesome too. Great price and everything was clean and well taken care of despite being a cool older building. I guess I wish there was a pool. Maybe they'll build one someday.
Attended a work meeting here in their conference room. The room was kinda small for how many tables they tried to squeeze into the front. Otherwise, It was pretty nice.
Food at these types of hotels can be mixed, but the food served was very high quality and tasted amazing. I wish I had gotten up for seconds.
If your meeting is for a small ish group of like 15-30 would recommend.
Wonderful, clean hotel that's close to all the action of Whyte Ave. Complimentary parking and breakfast were a great perk and they even let us bring our dog for a full family vacation! It even has a bike lane one the street out front for access to the amazing area. Will be staying again!
Came around Christmas time. Stayed one night. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy but it is very well maintained. There’s a nice fireplace in the lobby and a cozy seating area. The staff are friendly. The room was very clean and well maintained. It’s on whyte street so very close to tons of shops and restaurants.

Favourite hotel I've stayed at in Edmonton so far. Great price and the room we had was amazing. We stayed in the King Suite which was quite large and roomy. Balcony view was amazing. Best hotel breakfast I've had to be honest, pool was awesome too. Lots of restraunts in walking distance and nice area to walk around with the legislative building right there. I missed his name but the manager working...
It's not the nicest hotel out there, but the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area and I would say 100% worth it. We stayed during a heatwave and the AC kept the room nice and cool.
The rooms themselves are older and could use some renovations. There was water leaking from the roof in the hallway and the elevators weren't the...
The A/C in the rooms is amazing. During a heat wave where temperatures were in the mid 30s, it stayed a cool 18 through the day and overnight. Room was clean and didn't look as run down as other people have mentioned. It had a tub, balcony and dove brand toiletries. Staff were great. Breakfast was good and the fact that hot breakfast is included is awesome. No bacon though, just sausages. This place...
The location is great. Very central in downtown Edmonton. Service is good, and rooms are okay. Each room has a balcony which is a nice touch, but otherwise rooms are pretty standard albeit a bit dated.

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and found the location amazing. It was very easy to get to the conference and other parts of the city. The breakfast options were great as well. Good rooms for the price. Only gripe is we specifically asked for a reasonably quiet room that's as close as possible to the doors and elevators, and we got a room right beside the room they were renovating and it was the farthest room from the elevator on the floor. Our hot water also didn't work. Otherwise, no complaints.
Excellent hotel, we got a jacuzzi suite and it was great! Bed was very comfortable, and overall it was a refreshing experience compared to other hotels we've stayed at. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that it wasn't very soundproof, as a sports team came back from partying at 3am and woke everyone up. But that's more their fault than the hotel's, and the hotel...

The hotel is on the older side and probably in need of renovation, but it is in a great part of the city of you are headed to the mall. It has 4 family rooms (they have bunk beds in a side room with sliding doors) on the main floor, which are great for families. We stayed in a king suite with a pull out couch for the kids. Room was ok. Tv remote did not work. Staff was not very helpful or knowledgable in area dining. Breakfast was ok, so glad it was included. Hot tub not working either.

Breakfast room was small, limited seating, felt crowded. . I was unable to enjoy the hot tub as their was another guest in it for more 6 hours. It seems that some guests were residing at hotel. My room was cute.
I'm not sure if I like this place. We could hear all the noise from the lobby. Kids running and adults talking. It was definitely not a quiet hotel. But the room is clean and spacious and the breakfast was great.
Room was clean and sizable. Bathroom is on the smaller side.
There was an older smell in the air in our room when we first walked in but you forget about it quickly. They have Dove products in the shower which is really nice because my skin doesn't feel dry when I get up in the morning, even with the A/C on.

Location for this hotel is great as it’s a quick 8-10 minute drive to West Edmonton Mall. The rooms are average, our room was supposed to be two queens but had 1 king and a double bed, which was odd. The breakfast is pretty standard, one meat and eggs, cereal, waffles, fruit; no spectacular but gets you full. The rooms cleanliness was mediocre (pieces of food in the corners and closet). Had a very nice stay. The breakfast is great. The pool is awesome. However I wasn’t too pleased with my room this stay. We opened the one drawer to find someone else’s dirty clothes inside. For the rate of 70$ per night and for 3 adults and 3 children, it was a nice place to stay in. Better than most of similar hotels that have higher rate than this one. They did seem to have all the tables up front a little too close together making it hard to get to your seat. They had table service but it was difficult to place drink orders as the staff did not come around. Still we had a great time and would go back.
Went here to a YukYuks show where they host fundraisers. Had a blast!!
It would have had a 5⭐️ review if the management understood to have enough staff for these events. The staff that was working did a very impressive job trying to keep up, though the lack of planning puts a huge amount of stress on the staff that is working. Also decreases sales/profit and tips as it takes so long have an order...
I truly enjoyed my stay at the Century Casino. The Room was very comfortable and quiet, I had some fun in the casino and lost but I have no regrets. I would love to stay her again next time I am visiting friends in Edmonton.
Clean hotel, approachable staff, friendly atmosphere, decent restaurant, fun sized casino.
