Excellent guest service for the room and the dining area. Not many hotels would offer that but it's a great addition to have a water dispenser beside the ice machine to keep us hydrated. I also love hotels with guest laundry - very convenient.
The free breakfast was good. Kids love making pancakes. Walking distance to most of the tourist areas nearby.

Pros:- The hotel boasts a fantastic location, and their breakfast spread is definitely worth a mention. Con :- While the illuminated Huntington manger caught my eye and impressed me with its visual appeal, the actual hotel, unfortunately, failed to live up to the front-facing charm. Tucked away at the rear, the aged building lacks the uniqueness I anticipated. Moreover, the personal care products they provide leave much to be desired in terms of scent. It might be a wise move to pack your own preferred personal care items. Getting that underground parking spot was a bit of a hassle. I shelled out an extra 15 bucks thinking I'd have it sorted, but ended up stuck in the regular outdoor parking, which honestly wasn't all that great. So, if you're planning to stay there, do yourself a favor and make sure to book the underground parking well ahead of time. Trust me, it's gonna save you some trouble! There was a lady at the reception who rarely wears a smile or answers you courteously. Personally, I believe her demeanour could benefit from a touch more warmth.

I don't know that there's an eloquent way to say this, but there was feces on both our sheets upon arrival. Yep you read that right, poop on our bedding and it wasn't ours and not just one bed, but both. Upon alerting staff they immediately cleaned our room but yikes. when we went to check out we had to strongly advocate for some type of compensation. After some awkward deliberation, they very hesitantly gave us a small discount on our stay. I just had so much higher expectations for the price we paid. Aside from the fecal matter the hotel was mediocre at best. It was very outdated with an odd smell and so so loud. I will say house keeping and the younger girl at the front desk were lovely and the beds were very comfortable.
I will never stay again and would recommend that anyone who doesn't want to encounter a biohazard nightmare do the same.

The rooms have low quality finishes, but they seem newer than most. The ceiling has popcorn with some damage. The bathrooms are in decent condition with once again low quality finishes but everything works. We even had a small kitchenette and our room which we were not aware of so if we were staying longer we could certainly use that. The entrance is on the back side of the building from the harbor so it was a little confusing checking in at first. Very convenient to the shoreline and walks to the tourist area

This hotel is a good place to stay. Close to the Clipper dock and is just a few minutes walking to the downtown area. The hotel building and grounds are well kept. Our room was clean and well maintained. No visible wear and tear. The breakfast buffet dining room is only accessible by stairs, there might have been another way in, but it was not obvious to me. The food was well stocked with a variety of fruits, cereal, breads, eggs, meat, potatoes and yogurt. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Just one cautionary item: if you need to exchange US dollars, they will not give you the going exchange rate. This is the first time I ever encountered that scenario in BC.

We have many people coming to Victoria where we quide their vacation and make recommendations where to stay and where to eat. Our list of places to visit and stay is long and always with good reason.
This week our quests wanted to attend the empress for high tea. We strongly recommended the Huntingdon based on what we felt might be more private and a place with more character then the Empress. A switch too something new.
The one star rating is based on a couple factors however Carlos gets a 5 star rating as his service was awesome.
Private it was not as there were several mice scurrying around the floor during high tea. There was one other table being served high tea and likely they never noticed however these mice were close and seemingly undisturbed.
We couldn't believe we were having high tea with mice.
The spread was average at best. A few of the pastries were not that fresh!
Disappointed to say the least. More guests arriving and we simply will be directing them elsewhere.

We recently had our second stay at the Huntingdon Manor and we were very pleased. The front desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating even though it was quite busy. Similarly, the breakfast team were very friendly.
The breakfast buffet selection was quite good with a nice variety of hot food, fruit, yogurt, cereal and so on.
The key difference between this stay and our first stay was the room. I don’t know if the beds were changed recently but we both commented how comfortable the mattress was. Perfect firmness for us.
The only minor item I suggest be remedied would be to install a bike rack near the front door. While we would not leave our bikes outside overnight it would be very useful to lock our bikes outside for coming and going during the day.
