Reviews
Room was clean . Fine for just sleeping.
It was Sunday 11th May she arrived at the hotel where the unhelpful male member of staff told her that her booking had been cancelled and did not give a reason.
She had no where else to stay but luckily got a room at the hotel where she stayed the night before. I have not received any notification saying the hotel cancelled my booking. My wife actually said the staff member found it quite funny absolutely disgusting behaviour probably took full advantage that she was travelling alone
- The staff is as nice as they want to… they give very little detail about transport. We had some trouble understanding the Cypriot public transport and when asking for guidance the receptionist just said “the marina bay stop” and we were left on our own.
- The wifi is AWFUL. Used only data for the whole stay!
- The rooms were not clean when we arrived and they didn’t get any cleaner, even though we got room cleaning every day…
- The breakfast okey, but it is nothing like the pictures. There was also a lot of echo in the resection/breakfast area
- The pool in the picture on their site is non existent
- The “sea view” they claim (as shown in their pics) is either into another taller hotel or a parking lot.
- There was no welcoming drinks as they promised or water or “coffeemaker”
+ The only nice thing about this hotel is the location. A lot of nice, local restaurants and near the beach. When you understand the public transport system an excursion to is easy.
I think I wouldn't choose it otherwise.
The hotel claims it's been through a renovation and that maybe true about the lobby but definitely not the rooms.
+The sheets are mostly clean, with some stains every here and there, however they appear to be unwashable stains. Smelled clean and that's what I'm assuming.
+The mattress is quite comfy.
+ there are bathrobes and slippers in the room
+ air-conditioning in the room
+the staff is friendly although not fully competent - cleaners don't do very good job, and for the first 3 days (!) the receptionists failed to inform us that the breakfast is not included and we have to pay for it just showed the way to the restaurant and informed us about the time of breakfast serving when we checked-in(some misinformation as in the offer on a booking website it wasn't clear), same in the restaurant - just noted down the room number and said nothing
+ The food is quite good, the cook was very helpful with providing us with extra soy milk and plant based butter as we're vegan. It's also not too expensive - 8€, but still it's just good to know from the very beginning
(note that on Agoda there was no option to buy a room with or without breakfast, only in hotel amenities it was written 'buffet breakfast' so watch out for it).
+ very close to the beach, restaurants and shops, as well as the bus stop for travelling to the airport or outside Larnaca
-The WiFi is alright except the time when most people are back at the hotel - then it may be unstable especially for working. I personally used my data transfer for doing some working, it was way better.
-The hotel claims (on Agoda and Booking websites) that they have a private beach - they don't - I've already pointed that out to the hotel and suggested they should change the description as it's misleading (I stayed in hotels with no direct access to the water yet had private beach or private sunbeds for guests).
-they claim you'll be welcomed with fruit, wine and water - no such things in the room, not even a bottle of water.
-The glasses and cups are dirty, look like they were used by previous guests but not replaced. Even though we reported that, they were not checked and replaced while cleaning when we were not in the room, and even after we directly asked for that.
-the bathroom is the worst - shabby, mouldy, paint is falling off the walls, it was visibly not cleaned before our check-in as there was a dead cockroach on the floor and the sink was stained after someone using cups/glasses and left markings. Even the bathroom doors were dirty like after flooding when the water dripped with paint down the doors.
It's ok to stay a night or two but not recommended for a longer stay. You can easily find a nice apartment within the same price range and location.
Breakfast is great as well!
