They gave a smoker's room which smelled disgustingly ( I had not booked the hotel myself....). Even more, they would not even allow me to swap the room after I had entered it, saying no other was available. When you book this hotel keep in mind that a sleeping in a smoker's room is potentially harmful, according to findings of San Diego University.

Decent hotel for a good price. Not to fancy but well located near the train station and city center

Decently priced place with kind and helpful staff, very well located close to the central train station, yet in walking distance of the city centre, and with a nice breakfast buffet. The interior design - especially in the rooms - might be a bit old fashioned, but has its charm.

A very old hotel... super hot rooms with this heatwave and no air conditioning. A vague smell of cigarettes as if was normal to smoke in the rooms. All for 120 euros a night, definitely not a bargain!

Pros-3 blocks from train station, walking distance to restaurants (try "Im Alten Zollhaus" up the street) and shopping, clean & recently remodeled. Free breakfast buffet was good. Staff was great!

I went to Aachen on a business trip. To be honest I had a tiny little bit better expectations, but it provided most of what i needed. It was clean, relatively quiet and extremely well situated. Really, train station 5 min away, shopping streets 15 min away. A lot of places to eat around. Although to my taste it was a bit too cold. I tried turning on the heating and it was still cold even when i turned it up at maximum! Not sure if there was a shampoo in the bathroom, they included an universal gel, that smelled nice enough. I would really appreciate a water boiler with some teabags or coffee to have a hot drink in moments of despair because when i arrived, it was freezing. The breakfast is fairly good, varieties of German bred and müsli, which i appreciated. Also they served really good coffee, I had caffe latte (they call it coffee with milk) and got lucky. The staff is helpful and gave me directions to get to the places i needed, they speak English. Recommend!

A very accessible place to the train station and restaurants. Nice,quiet and laid back neighborhood. Clean rooms and helpful and friendly staff,too.
