Where to stay in Aachen

The service wasn't perfect - at least for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was refilled too late. The service staff was perhaps a little too limited. All in all not bad. Price and performance did not match 100%. However, I would definitely go there again.

Even in times of Corona, a great stay with very attentive hosts. As usual, the rooms are well sorted, clean and everything is in the right place. Breakfast corresponds to the general conditions. Unique view of the city from the breakfast / restaurant and from the terrace!

I booked this hotel for swimming pool, and it’s beyond my expectation. The swimming pool is not big, but with shower, fitting room, toilets and shampoo/hairdryer. These rooms and water in the pool are warm and you don‘t need to worry about getting cold after swimming. Really nice for relaxing. I was surprised with how nice the hotel was. The room was simple but pretty. And the people working there were friendly. The cleaners don’t know english tho, so that was not easy to communicate. Good hotel. But not exactly what you expect from a 4-star hotel. Location great, quiet and clean rooms but not fancy, breakfast is noramal and menities are limited: No toothpaste and toothbrush, no shoe polish, no slippers, no iron, no bathrobe, no working chair and no smart air conditioning and heating which made room a bit cold and unpleasant for me.

Hotel was okay. We asked for double bed. And received 2 beds, with 2 small blankets like for kids. Man 185sm was not able cover all his body with those blankets. Shower was good. Breakfast very good. In Hotel a lot of kids

Everything was perfect! It’s a stone’s throw away from the Aachen Cathedral. The only reason I gave it four stars in one of the criteria is because the pillows were not comfortable. I have a bad neck, so having a good pillow is crucial for me.

The room and bathroom of this hotel are not big but sufficient. The room is bright with two large windows, but the large windows are not soundproof. The hotel is very noisy on the street, and the sound of passing cars is huge. We checked in on the weekend. The street pub and passers-by downstairs were noisy all night and did not stop until 6 o'clock in the morning. I wanted to give a bad review, but...

I’ve been staying at the Mercure Am Dom for nearly 10 years when I travel to Aachen. Recently, I’ve tried the new hotel MotelOne, and I think the Mercure Am Dom is a better hotel with larger rooms and better amenities. I prefer this hotel and will definitely stay again.

The location is very good, very near to Dom and Aachen center. Besides the room is very clean, here you can have a quiet and comfortable environment.

My stay at B&B Hotel Aachen City was excellent. I was really surprised at how modern and clean it was. The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast spread was basic but adequate. The location was very central and easy to get around everywhere. I would happily book another stay.

I only stayed at the hotel for a very short night, but my experience was very comfortable. The staffs were very attentive and friendly. I had a little issue with the payment method, and they were willing to answer any of my concerns with the best supporting attitude. Would highly recommend this place to others, and shall return if I ever come back to Aachen because of the ideal location and service

For the price and the location it is fine. It was all clean and the personal are very nice. But it is small! But then again we only paid around 60eu for a night so I'm very happy with it

We arrived after a long time driving in traffic jams and were friendly greeted and helpful assisted. We needed extra blankets and that was not a problem. Our family room was large and with comfortable beds! The breakfast was good and our room was clean. Thanks for a good service 👍😃

Delicious tea and beer! Also the pretty lady Maria at the bar was so kind to give us several time some snacks so we did order more drinks! Was lovely Spanish/German lady ! I did not sleep in the Hotel but the Bar was great and cosy that moment!

This hotel has smaller rooms, but they're impeccably clean and conveniently located. The waitstaff are all kind and helpful; we'll be back!

Really nice staff, fairly clean and spacious hotel. The "Style" part is given by vibrant colors all throughout the design of the hotel. Breakfast is the typical continental but I had way better in other hotels -- although can't compare in Aachen. Overall, good price/quality ratio. Recommended for short stays.

We love this place, we keep coming back every time we visit Aachen. The colors in the hotel are lively, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is great. On top of that the price for a stay is very low and it is walking distance from the center, but you can park your car near the hotel. The personnel is friendly and staying there always makes me have a smile on my face, we would go back every time.

I found this hotel very neat and clean and economical. The star was their huge continental breakfast in the morning. They also provide a free self-service based tea and coffee option throughout the day till 10.00 pm and the free croissants and/ or fruit at the reception.

Great location. Close to famous thermal Baths and the Aachen Cathedral. Shopping. All within walking distance. Excellent breakfast buffet. Fresh and delicious. Conplimenary coffee was also so good! Staff is very friendly and most of them speak English. Room is very cheerful and clean. I was surprised to get such value for the price.

Don't be misled by the facade: the hotel is fine. The lobby is relatively modern. The rooms are of a good size and functional. Nothing extraordinary. Just a good hotel.

Very nice hotel. Very good breakfast. Only about 5 minutes to walk to the dom, town hall and treasury. And about 10 minutes to the shopping centre. The reason why I only gave it 4 stars is: the Wi-Fi wasn't working in our room. If you are reliant on it, it can be very frustrating. But the gentleman said he would look into it.

The Hotel has a perfect location. It is just next to the downtown (altstadt). The breakfast is very good as well. The internet connection could be better. If u depends on internet, I recommend to choose another hotel.

Die Lage ist recht günstig, denn man erreicht den Dom in 10-15 Minuten. Auch das Parken ist kein Problem, es stehen kostenfreie Plätze direkt vor dem Hotel zur Verfügung. Wir hatten ein Zimmer nach hinten, also sehr ruhig und sogar mit einem kleinen Balkon. Es gab nichts auszusetzen, lediglich das Frühstück war etwas mager und dem Prei nicht unbedingt angemessen.

My booking and communications experience with this hotel & its team was great. But their services & empathy really stood out. I had to cancel a trip, a day before my arrival. The bookings team immediately reassured me that they do utmost to resell the rooms, and if successful, refund the booking costs to me. They did so, on one of the busiest weekends, and I earnestly appreciate their efforts.

The room was a bit small but cozy. The breakfast was good, and the staff was very friendly. It was very loud in our room from the traffic, but other than that it's a good hotel to stay in!

I've visited the hotel over many years and being part of a retirement house doesn't detract from the quality service. The room are always in good condition and always clean. Very cozy and completely satisfied our needs. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but it was possible to have breakfast at the hotel. We found it was cheaper and more enjoyable to have food in the town of Aachen. Check in was extremely efficient and an overall very pleasurable stay.

Room was nice and clean but had the noise of a fan from outside room 302. Not good if you are a light sleeper but I got by. Otherwise nice, handy for Alem Aachen FC, 20 minutes walk.

Arrived mid-day and easily checked in on the automated checkin. Found a clean and quiet room 5k away from downtown Aachen. Found a scooter nearby and easily rode into town. Extensive breakfast the next morning. Would definitely stay here again. Great location for the price.

It's a regular budget hotel, nothing to write review about except the breakfast selection was totally worth the price paid for once! Rooms have basic furniture and amenities and a bit weird layout but it works somehow!

Excellent location not far from the motorway but in a traditional setting. Spacious,clean and comfortable accommodation, friendly staff. The restaurant was closed ( for holidays we thought) but a nearby pizzeria resolved the problem . Breakfast in the hotel was excellent.

Price is right for what you get. Rooms are clean and spacious enough. Friendly owner in for a chat, let our motorcycles sit in a nice and dry garage. Dinner and breakfast are both served and of good quality. The hotel is situated in a remote area, but lots of nature around for hikes and drives.

Very kind and professional staff. Great quality breakfast and diner in the restaurant of the hotel. You have a lot of options, (also as a vegitarian and if you don't drink alcohol there are a lot of alternatives). The wellness is excellent and it is just a short walk to the city centre.

Very friendly staff. Wellness area optically nice, but often not properly in function (sauna not warm, steam bath cold benches) and for others eventually okay , but around 26 degrees for the pool having massage jets is at least 4 degrees to low for me, If the wellness area would be as good feeling as it looks, I would also come back privatly and not only for business.

This is a very competent Business hotel. The rooms are well designed. The hotel is well maintained. The staff is helpful and graciously tolerates non-German speakers. The only two negative issues are a below average fitness center and no mini refrigerator in the room.
