Where to stay in Aachen

Beautiful modern hotel in a perfect location, just a short walk to the old town and cathedral. Rooms are clean, stylish, and comfortable, and the rooftop bar has amazing views over Aachen. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Highly recommended for a city trip!

Stayed here for 3 nights on work trip. Great staff. Lovely view from rooftop breakfast/bar. Breakfast good. Nice that soft drinks and beer in fridge on the house. Good to see hotel also showcasing works by local artist. Would not hesitate to recommend.

It was nice that it was close to the conference hall. It wasn't too far from the city center either. It was within walking distance. I also liked the free drinks that were replenished every day.

The service wasn't perfect - at least for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was refilled too late. The service staff was perhaps a little too limited. All in all not bad. Price and performance did not match 100%. However, I would definitely go there again.

Good hotel. But not exactly what you expect from a 4-star hotel. Location great, quiet and clean rooms but not fancy, breakfast is noramal and menities are limited: No toothpaste and toothbrush, no shoe polish, no slippers, no iron, no bathrobe, no working chair and no smart air conditioning and heating which made room a bit cold and unpleasant for me.

The Hotel was very nice. Nice big rooms,great shower,nice staff and decent breakfast. The rooms could really do with a fridge,as they don't have a restaurant and if you bought a salad our sandwiches you had know where to keep them cool. very nice hotel near the outer ring of the city. Only about a 10 minute drive to downtown, 15-20 minutes to RWTH. My room was spacious with a separate bedroom. There was a small kitchen but there were absolutely no plates, utensils, pots, etc. The dining room did let me take a fork, knife and plate to keep in my room. Underground parking is available for €15 per night.

I booked this hotel for swimming pool, and it’s beyond my expectation. The swimming pool is not big, but with shower, fitting room, toilets and shampoo/hairdryer. These rooms and water in the pool are warm and you don‘t need to worry about getting cold after swimming. Really nice for relaxing. It’s conveniently located, near the highway but close enough to the old town. It’s a little dated but nice enough and clean. quiet neighborhood and parking available right in front. The parking is on a steep hill which was a bit of a challenge for us, but our car has lower ground clearance than most.

We had a nice stay at the Art hotel. The room was lovely and very nice breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and a really nice bathroom. However, what stood out were the staff. We had some car issues and they really went out of their way to help us get this sorted. It was really so appreciated to have this support and help when travelling in a different country to home. Quality to price, the hotel was perfect. We needed something close to the train station with easy access to downtown. The room was clean with plenty of room for two people. The staff could speak English and were very friendly and helpful. We chose the breakfast option and just about everything you would expect from a buffet was available. We highly recommend the hotel, especially if you are on a budget

The front desk staff were very welcoming, the hotel was a lovely modern/chic and the room although a tad small by Canadian standards was extremely comfortable. The only little hiccup, is that I never figured out how to get the ventilation to recirculate the air in the room. Otherwise the overall experience was marvelous.

Hotel well positioned to explore the city. The city center is just 10/15 min walk, and the train station just 5 min walk. Thr room was clean and the bed comfortable. I missed the tea/coffe making machine in the room.

The breakfast was amazing, the room was very clean, and it's next to the bus station, making it convenient for travel. It's about a 10-minute walk to the cathedral. It's worth staying in. The hotel is safe. There's the Ibis Hotel opposite, and the Mercure Hotel is walking distance from the cathedral.

Room is very clean and well decorated but not very isolated, especially facing street. Breakfast is average. Reception desk was a bit insensitive (maybe that was my experience) which could be improved.

Location across from the Aachen central station and taxis and buses and 15mins walk to the town centre. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around the hotel. Beds are very firm mattress. No kettle or tea coffee facilities and no bar fridge in the room but breakfast available for purchase in the dining area in the basement. Plenty of cafes next to the hotel. Check in and out easy and staff helpful.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The door was not properly fitted and made noises, but it didn't bother me. The hair dryer was broken, but there was a new one available and I was able to use it without any problems.

Just opposite the train station. It takes about half an hour to walk to the city center. The room is quite large, clean and tidy, and the heating is also powerful. The breakfast is simple, but it is worth the price.

The room met our expectations exactly. The breakfast was excellent, with high-quality ingredients. To our delight, instead of the usual pre-baked rolls, there were good fresh bakery rolls and a fantastic variety of other baked goods.

We had a spacious room on floor 4 although it was bakingly hot, until we worked out the portable AC unit needed water! Internet not working The hotel was good but the internet didn't function and when we went to talk at the person at the front desk they couldn't do anything.

Just ok, location the bonus. No parking at Hotel, but a block away. Location to city center was great, a 6 min walk. The room was small but very clean. The main issue was that there was nothing that could compensate the lack of an AC unit during the warm days. The window opened was also not an option due to the noise coming from the street even during night hours.

Relatively small hotel and that translates into every where in the hotel. The room I was in was really small, elevator is for two people at a time, hallways are narrow etc... Room was clean and service was good. Breakfast was great, WiFi signal and speed was good also. There was no thermostat in the room, got to use the window to manage the temperature.

Always great food at the Heide. The Lammrücken was delicious. Service was really fast and very attentive. My first time was 20 years ago and had the best steak in Deutschland.

Very nice hotel. Very good breakfast. Only about 5 minutes to walk to the dom, town hall and treasury. And about 10 minutes to the shopping centre. The reason why I only gave it 4 stars is: the Wi-Fi wasn't working in our room. If you are reliant on it, it can be very frustrating. But the gentleman said he would look into it.

The Hotel has a perfect location. It is just next to the downtown (altstadt). The breakfast is very good as well. The internet connection could be better. If u depends on internet, I recommend to choose another hotel.

Does a job Not bad, but needs modernising

My booking and communications experience with this hotel & its team was great. But their services & empathy really stood out. I had to cancel a trip, a day before my arrival. The bookings team immediately reassured me that they do utmost to resell the rooms, and if successful, refund the booking costs to me. They did so, on one of the busiest weekends, and I earnestly appreciate their efforts.

I've visited the hotel over many years and being part of a retirement house doesn't detract from the quality service. The room are always in good condition and always clean.
