Hotel Germania

Firstly the location is excellent for all the services this pretty town offers The room we had , 301, was very nicely decorated and more than comfortable with a balcony overlooking the river , castle and the cafe life close by The breakfast room was also very beautifully decorated. The food on offer was extensive and very good quality but some reviews suggested it was the best in Europe which I would say is a little excessive- it was good though Down sides - there’s no long term parking on site though only a 5 minute walk Reception in 9-5.00 , at other times there’s a side door, which if you had come a long way were late tired etc it would not be the reception you deserve

A bit dated, and no AC, but clean, comfortable, charming, and they serve a nice breakfast. The location is perfect!

Wine tastings are free for hotel guests, and the terraces are reserved for guests, so there's always room to sit and enjoy the scenery.

We had an amazing 4 days here. I love the fact that only hotel guests can use the terrace - there was always seats for view over the river 😍

We forgot our passports and Bernd was amazing and sent them directly to us and was good in assuring us that they were on the way.

The breakfast buffet is really good, high quality food, staff is mega friendly. The price is very affordable. Highly recommended.

We loved everything about this hotel. The receptionist / frontdesk guy was so kind and helpfull. Will return in summer.

I can’t believe the poor reviews posted on here! It’s a 14th century hotel in rural Germany. It doesn’t have some modern ammenities like an elevator or lift for stair free access to every room. The building is old and that’s part of the experience of staying here.
Also keep in mind you’re traveling to rural Germany? Take it as an opportunity to learn some German or at least try. That’s the fun part of traveling to foreign countries. The front desk has limited hours, just as B&B’s in the English countryside or Vermont would. Plan accordingly or book a chain hotel.
The price is great, the location is perfect to walk around, and the experience of staying in one of the oldest buildings you’ll find is, well - an experience. There are winding hallways, stairs up and down to different part of the building, and there is historic decor throughout.
A colleague recommended Cochem and I went on a whim. The reservation board in town showed this hotel had rooms and it was such an adventure to explore and stay here. Schnitzel was good and I would stay here again.

A nice hotel in center of Cochem. The rooms are nice, but is the view important, chose a room with view to the river, the "city" view is just towards very close other houses, not an exciting view...

A bit pricey.

Lovely hotel in a great location. The hotel is only 8 min to the train station, plenty of shops and cafes nearby. The breakfast was very nice, the room was good size and very comfy bed. The staff was very friendly. The only thing that was missing it was to have any tea or coffee free of charge , unfortunately no any kettle in the room or any shared area to enjoy a tea.
