We stayed here for 9 nights and really enjoyed the hotel. The room was good, had a closet for clothes, no drawers, room was spacious, bed comfortable, staff were great. The only thing is their Buffett breakfast is too expensive, 17.50 Euro per person. There is a bakery up the street behind the church, it had some great breakfast sandwiches, so we chose to eat there. I come here 2 or 3 times a year and the hotel isn't beautiful but the rooms are big, the bed comfortable and the breakfast great.

An average stay where they don't easily trust their customers. You want a kettle, you need to deposit 20 Euros. You want an umbrella, deposit your room keys.. You have checked in, pay in full for the duration before the room keys are allocated..

The criteria for choosing this hotel was that it was within walking distance of the train station. This is a simple hotel very close to the railway line, the outside is not very inviting and the interior is showing its age. The service is good and the room is reasonably spacious, but the breakfast buffet gave the impression of having been stocked by a discounter.

Second time here, and would stay again. It’s about a 10 min walk from train station. Handy for direct trains back to Düsseldorf or Köln, if attending events there. Clean and comfortable rooms. Downside is if you have the windows open you will hear trains. Breakfast buffet pretty good for a small extra cost

Stayed here on a business trip. For business purposes it was fine. It is not near downtown so you will need to drive or take taxis to most places. Rooms were clean and fairly large for European standards but a bit basic. My biggest complaints (as an American) are: the parking is very hard to spot, the entrance for any non-compact car is very narrow, and the road is undergoing construction that makes it hard to find the way to the hotel. We were here for a fantastic meal about 2 years ago and were very impressed. Since then the concept has changed considerably. No amuse bouche only baguette was the first noticeable difference. Lovely hotel in paradise. 10 minutes from city center and 10 minutes to highway. Lovely quiet rooms in the middle of nature. Only thing I would recommend mosquito screens to be installed to avoid those little devil's coming into the room in the summer time as hotel is next to river and mosquitoes love this area. Fantastic service and the room was everything we needed. Loved the large pot of coffee they give you during breakfast. Neighbourhood is beautiful and we enjoyed going up the funicular 5min away from the inn, and exploring the medieval fortress on the top of the hill.

Family-run small hotel, with friendliest staff, excellent food and cosy rooms. We stayed at the gorgeous and recently renovated room 102 and had an excellent experience overall. The staff cannot be more caring and polite. Every aspect of the hotel is properly taken care of. Easy and convenient to reach by car, on a quiet neighbourhood.

Lovely stay at the Romantik. Staff very friendly especially Herr Cam and gentleman on front desk. We attended a family party and the food was very good. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family in the area.

What can I say, what a lovely little gem in the countryside just outside of Solingen. Very neat and clean, the building is very well maintained and the rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. It has a decent air conditioning unit in the room and whilst I was only able to stay for breakfast on the day, the food was superb. If your looking for a "Romantic" getaway, look no further. Highly recommended

The room is very small, smaller than description, the heating is not like the rest of the high-end hotels, but heating under the window, there is no phone to call the reception, I had to use my phone and search for the hotel number through Google and then wait for the autoresponder, to ask them a question The fan has a thick dust on it, it hasn't been cleaned in a while

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was spacious and clean with tea and coffee facilities in the room. The only downside was with the windows open we heard a lot of traffic noise . Room needed air conditioning as when we were there the temperature was 30 degrees - but there was an electric fan in the room.

All the reception team all the restaurant staff and of course the cleaners !! all staff are wonderful and welcoming. For what you pay, it's amazing. Staff is patient and very kind. Breakfast is great and there is lots of variety. Everyone can have a good breakfast here. Even special options for vegan/gluten allergies. Including fresh fruits/eggs/bacon/sausage/breads(croissants, etc)/fruit jellys/yoghurts and much more. It's noticeable that the rooms aren't 5 stars. But they definitely are clean and well cared for...

The staff is very and accommodating. The hotel is dated even though the rooms appear to be recently renovated. But even though it is right off of the highway, it's in a quite location. Big plus is the breakfast was Vegan Friendly!

Our stay at "Zum Schwanen" was amazing! The huge free parking just a few steps away on Schwanenplatz was a great convenience. The staff was incredibly helpful, and Christian went above and beyond, accommodating our special requests and providing extra storage for our equipment. Super nice guy and great chef!

I love the small town of Langenfeld. so beautiful here. The staff is kind, the room is great, and the breakfast is fantastic. I like that my room had a door to section off the bathroom and entry from the bedroom/sleeping quarters.

Well, what can I say, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was not too bad but quite small. It was clean. The bed was terrible, the matress was far too soft in the middle. The bathroom was small, actually quite right. The breakfast wasn't too bad. There was a good choice. In summery, it wasn't worth the money I paid.

Great hotel in the heart of Wuppertal with its own parking. Rooms are clean, spacious and recently renovated. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Entry is by key card only, which feels very safe. Some rooms even look directly onto the Schwebebahn—a unique touch. And the lounge is a perfect spot to enjoy a beer or two at the end of the day.

Intercity Hotels are always fine for me. The interior looks a little bit luxury although the room-rates are reasonable. Staff is very friendly, breakfast is ok as well. The hotel is located directly in the centre of Wuppertal, lots of bars, restaurants and shops are very close to it. And: the famous "Schwebebahn", an overhead railway, is very close. Try it, you'll love it!

Nice hotel in the center of Wuppertal, however there's a problem with parking spots at the hotel ( only 3 spots!) and Cinemaxx parking isn't always open if you come late night. Really nice surprise. I booked one of the executive rooms because they were advertised as recently renovated. Hotel was modern and room was fresh and clean and very quiet (I was on top floor). Breakfast was also nice surprise with a waffle maker, good selection of meats, cheeses, yoghurt, fruits and a really good coffee machine.

The check-in was time limited and the worst part was that it was not indicated on the booking email or at any time before arrival. If arriving sunday consider all the limitations.

We had a very pleasant 3 night stay in Hotel Alberga. Everything from check-in to check-out was excellent. Our room was large with desk and chairs for work. The shower was the best we've ever had - great pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was excellent with great choice of cereal, fruit, cheese and freshly cooked eggs. The welcome was professional and helpful. Very clean and spacious room which I could easily darken with blinds during the summer night. The floor in the room are tiles (which are much more hygienic than carpet)! My room was to the back of the building and very quiet through the night. Good shower cabin with thermostate water tap. The parking is in the deep garage with direct access to the hotel...

The location is really far away. It takes more than 30 minutes to drive to Dusseldorf and more than an hour to drive back during the morning rush hour. The parking lot under the hotel is 12.5 euros per night. The facilities are quite old, but fortunately they are relatively clean and there is plenty of hot water for bathing.

With parking underground and discounted when staying at the property, there is no other place I would stay when visiting Mettmann Or Düsseldorf. With easy and direct access to busses and trains you can make your way around...
