The location was very good for our planned trip because we wanted to go into the city and also take short trips from there at this time of year. The hotel is very centrally located. There was a parking space nearby that had to be paid for. But that was okay.
Price/performance was good, staff was courteous and friendly.
I think I would go again.

A few meters away from the Christmas market and the hustle and bustle. A little oasis in the middle of the city. The cream puffs were delicious.

Positive: The staff was friendly and tried very hard. Clean rooms and very good location.
Negative: The hotel and the rooms are very old. Investment backlog. Old wooden windows that are leaking. You can slide your palm between the window frame and the window. Accordingly, the rooms are drafty and the noise level is very high. To make matters worse, the heating was completely turned off from around 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. Breakfast buffet is plentiful but dinner is below canteen food.

Conclusion: Extremely cheap, but never again in winter!!

A small, nice, clean family hotel highly recommended. Around the corner is the shopping mile with many shops. The hotel is of course inexpensive and we liked the food. You should love simplicity and not expect luxury. We were there for a week and it was nice.👍💃🥰

The hotel room is clean and in order, breakfast is completely sufficient for the price, even if it's baked rolls, it's right in the city center and for a 5 day vacation 130€ it couldn't be better, completely fine for me

The hotel is simple, the rooms are clean and the room service is very good. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and always eager to please the guests. The food was average.
The management of the hotel is poor. You get the impression that saving money is the top priority in this hotel. A hotel room without a shower gel dispenser in the bathroom, no hairdryer in the room, a small TV with poor sound and no WiFi. In the evening you cannot sit in the restaurant and have a drink; there is also no vending machine with drinks. After 8 p.m. there is no longer any staff in the hotel. The whole thing is not a hotel, but a guesthouse with meals.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days. It wasn't what we expected. It's a cheap hotel. The staff tries to be nice and friendly but it doesn't seem that way.
The house is well located but unfortunately does not have its own parking spaces and those nearby cost a lot of money.
Unfortunately the breakfast wasn't that great either. The same sausage on the buffet for 5 days, no variety. For the evening there were two dishes to choose from, unfortunately not good and most of the dishes from bags tasted bad and the last one had to pay 50 cents for a portion of mayo or mustard.
Even the local citizens say I'm keeping quiet and yes it's cheap.
You had the feeling of being in senior care.
After 8 p.m. there was nothing left in this house and you had to go in through the back entrance.
So I wouldn't recommend it.

We stayed at this Hotel Harz in Wernigerode with 2 families for 7 days. The hotel is very well located in the center and can be reached on foot in just a few steps. Very good shopping mile in the middle of lovingly historic half-timbered houses.
A secure, affordable parking lot is about 400 m away on foot.
The hotel has an elevator, the rooms are clean and tidy, the food is varied, sufficient and very tasty. We felt very comfortable all around.
The staff/team is very friendly and nice
There are many sights in the surrounding area and are easy to reach by car, bus and train.
We will come back and definitely recommend it.
Many thanks to the entire team/staff. LG

We spent a family weekend in the hotel to see Wernigerode - the hotel is well suited for this purely in terms of location.
However, it couldn't collect any more positive points than the location.

The rooms are extremely dated and spartan, although mostly a pleasant size. The carpet is a hygienic no-go for me personally... Many of the furnishings seem to be from the 80s. They work, but modernization is urgently needed. The beds were simply terrible, as the mattresses were extremely sagging and you could feel every spring in your back. A power socket is only available on one side of the bed.

By far the most impossible thing for us was the food and the staff.
There are two dishes to choose from for dinner. As described in other reviews, both dishes seemed as if they had just been warmed up in portions and would normally be found in large canteens. The dispatching by the staff to get all the guests out of the restaurant as quickly as possible had nothing to do with a cozy dinner. Adaptations to food allergies, vegetarianism or even veganism are unthinkable. Supposedly you would have been told when booking that such things had to be reported in advance, but this wasn't the case with us. A friendly inquiry at check-in was rudely dismissed.
The food for breakfast was okay, even if it wasn't entirely clear whether some of the products had a shelf life - dry edges on the sausage and browned fruit were just two examples.
The cleanliness in the restaurant was acceptable, although there were some food residue stains on the upholstery of the seating.

Unfortunately, the staff didn't exactly impress with their friendliness and good service. Although one cannot assume a lack of efficiency, the hotel's tight schedule was always dutifully adhered to. Any accommodations towards the guests are strictly prohibited (for example, leaving out the vanilla sauce on the dessert of a lactose intolerant person or serving coffee at 3:59 p.m. (coffee is only available until 4 p.m.)) - there was no flexibility. This is probably not surprising, especially when it comes to eating - after all, the evening desserts are ready in the kitchen at 10 a.m.

The elevator is only approved for 2 people and feels very... borderline when riding.
There is no parking at the hotel, but there is a parking garage nearby.
You won't find a place to sit together after dinner here.
But hey, is there a condom machine in the basement for that?

I also sometimes find it a little strange that some doors can only be opened with a key, otherwise the alarm attached to the outside of the room door would be activated when the doorknob was unlocked. We still don't understand what the alarm is supposed to do.

We would not recommend the hotel. However, if someone has no expectations of the food and accommodation, perhaps even feels the need for the nostalgia of the warmed-up mass meal from their own school days, the hotel is of course perfect.

Location great. Everything else? Unfortunately, quite a flop.

The hotel is still stuck deep in the GDR.
Very unfriendly staff who wave away questions and criticisms and refer you to your homepage, where there is nothing there. There is no WiFi, no card payments possible, invoices are written by hand. Unfortunately, there are no flexible times for breakfast, lunch, etc. If you arrive 10 minutes early you will be sent away and if you arrive 10 minutes before the end of coffee time you will also be sent away, even though coffee and cake have been guaranteed.
The breakfast is poor at best. Hard rolls that you can't cut with cutlery, sausage and cheese in a very limited selection or always the same. The eggs are boiled so hard that they turn to dust in your mouth. Dinner is pure canteen food. They advertise great food on their menu, but it is only delivered packaged and is somehow heated here, which is why small changes or requests are not possible, which is not possible for people who have allergies or intolerances.
The rooms are an absolute disaster and do not correspond to the pictures on the homepage. Beds are very deep and the mattresses are completely worn out. The bed linen smells like the entire room. The bathroom is extremely poor. A toilet that is on the floor, a sink and a shower where the shower head keeps buckling. There is no hairdryer, no waste bins and the towels for drying are very, very small. Another big drawback is the lack of sockets, there is effectively ONE socket, because the others (2 sockets) are intended for the lamps.
I do not recommend this hotel in any way, no matter how good the location is.
