Reviews
Cold rooms without adequate insulation on the windows. When asked for an extra duvet, the response was a clear no. The duvet provided is tiny and I'm not sure it would fit a taller person than me.. I'm shorter than 170cm for reference.
The room looks lifeless. I mean I've been to several hostels and most of them make efforts to make it a happy place. This one reminded me more of a hospital room. The TV is random and kept switching to you tube often on its own.
The bathroom though is hilarious! The soap dispenser was empty and despite being reminded about it, it never got refilled. There was a strange green and red light that kept blinking all night. I had to cover this with a towl and tissue paper. Hard to describe the sheer weirdness since the hotel/hostel told me this thing blinks and there is no way to shut it down?
The reading lamp was nice , beds semi comfortable.
All in all, the kitchen is really the only good part. A last minute option in my opinion, maybe in summer. Definitely not in winter since it's cold and turning the heater up to 5 isn't comfortable either since the room heats up.
Shower was hard to set up and either too hot or too cold. Also no clear way to shut down the shower, so not very sustainable . Zero toiletries. Tiny towels. If you're a tall person who feels cold and sleeps light, avoid this place.
They probably do well due to the demand for a place like this but if they keep up this remote semblance of a hostel, I'm not sure how long it'll last. It's definitely not a hotel, not a hostel either; more like a refugee when hiking but with individual rooms.
What annoyed me the most was the note on the door trying to force a higher review. And their welcome message asking me to not post anything bad online but to let them know instead. I did let them know and got very unsatisfactory answers.
And finally, the door doesn't seem to close properly and the walls are thin, so you can hear a lot of outside sounds, since there isn't much space between the door and bed. Overall I didn't feel comfortable or safe here.
Oh and the shared kitchen is great. There is an Aldi right next door so you can buy some food and keep it in the kitchen to make later. Some people leave behind messes but the staff cleans through the day. Don't be the messy person though!
Apart from that, all is good: location, quietness, rooms, kitchen...
Staff was friendly. Price was OK. The Bed was OK. Location is Good.
