the niu Mood Hotel, Mainz1 / 16
8.7
Mainz, Mombacher Straße 6 🧭 Map
Overall a nice stay, but a few things to note for first-timers! It was a bit confusing to find at first—it’s labeled as the niu on the outside, not Holiday Inn, so we didn’t realize we were at the right place right away. We arrived late, and parking was hard to come by, so plan to arrive earlier if you can. The room didn’t have a kitchenette, which we expected, and there wasn’t really anywhere to...
Nice good place for short stay. We were a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids). Had to take two rooms adjascent to each other. Neat rooms. Enough space (not like those botique hotels) and with lift access. Towels are provided. Rooms cleaned everyday. Bring your soap, tooth brush, paste etc. Good location too. You can get uber or taxi by apps below the hotel and walk to some supermarkets and ccentral...
Staff pleasant and friendly. Location OK, 1km+ from the station and start of the old town - this walk got a little tedious after a while. Room clean and largely sound proofed. The tiny, thin, single duvet was largely ineffective and did little to keep the body warm at night. The pillows were just as bad. I didn't eat breakfast here and was going to have an evening meal until I saw that the menu only...
We have stayed here for 1 week. Rooms are cleaned daily. Not that noisy from trains unless you have a window opened ( we had a room windows against offices and train rails) Very nice location - bus stops not so far away ( 5 minutes to bus stop and approx 11-13 min to main central station ) We had lunch included ( approx 17-18 euros per day for a person ) and it was very good too. Very satisfying...
the hotel itself is pretty cool. Unfortunately, even though I had the “do not disturb”-card in my handle, somebody just asked themselves in twice. Breakfast was pretty good, but unfortunately some dude gave me an attitude because I wanted some yoghurt an hour after leaving breakfast. Apparently the 12€ breakfast needs to be eaten in one sitting specifically. Weird. Also my room was right next to the...

Great location and lovely breakfast by the river, will definitely come back!
This hotel has for sure the nicest view in Mainz, and only a few minutes from the city center. Just be aware that the rooms with view to the Rhein-river obviously have different categories, hence prices, to avoid being disappointed.
Convenient excellent hotel. Fantastic breakfast. Rooms are perfect. Highly recommend.
Very nice location - it is easy to reach the sights of Mainz and also to have a stroll along the river. During my stay there was some construction, that was not very pleasant. Also, make sure you are staying in the main building, or you will have to walk a long way with luggage... and help was not offered, although I had 2 suitcases. European hotel rooms tend to be small and drab - that was the case...

Hotel a bit tired, o attended a corporate event - buffet service, food just ok, dinner or the 2 lunches. 3 instructions sent regarding a mobility friendly room and put on 6th floor, considered I could use the lifts in an emergency (fires?)! Did move and upgrade me which was nice, but there was missed optys along the way throughout.
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! It's conveniently close to shopping and dining areas, making it easy to explore the local attractions. The on-site parking was hassle-free, and the friendly staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The updated lobby is modern and inviting, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Highly recommended!
If you're looking on here because you're in the army and you're worried about living on the economy because there's no room at the army lodge: stop looking. Stay here. This hotel is right next to a ton of local food spots, the park, the train station, the base, everything. The hotel itself has great views, is well-maintained, and all the staff is super friendly and helpful. Book your hotel for the...
The bar tenders Sia and Josh were incredible! They were very accommodating to all our needs and were so friendly and kind that we will be sad to leave this hotel when we go! We hope to come back next year and look forward to being served by these awesome guys again. Thank you for the amazing service!
Very clean, good facilities and helpful staff. Located close to the centre of town and also useful to get in and out of Frankfurt too. Evening meal at the Bistro was good (traditional local dishes) and breakfast quality was excellent
The hotel has clearly seen better days and there is some maintenance overdue. The building itself has potential tho. The fitnessroom is small and the only wait training machine is completely broken. Some training mats would be great. Furthermore the wellness area is cool but the sauna is not hot enough and lacks a proper heater. What's cool is that they prepare ready to use infusions. The steam sauna...

excellent hotel at a perfect location. The view on rhine river is excellent and the historic city center and Roman remains are within walking distance. The staff are friendly but some appear a bit overworked on a slightly busy day. The communication about challenges with room availability are really poor. Thus the manager may need to take the time to train some of the staff in basics required at a...
We loved everything about this hotel. The location and view couldn’t have been better. The bed was comfortable. The shower head is on the ceiling which my husband loved. Fortunately, they gave us a shower cap so it worked for me too.
This hotel's location is excellent for people visiting Mainz. The restaurant was...okay. Our room was clean.
Great location, nice room, nice wellness area, very friendly staff
Extremely friendly staff and very good breakfast. Overall we felt very comfortable.
Lovely hotel. Wonderful staff; you can taste in every dish the love that the chef and bartenders have for their jobs. Kind, friendly (by a southern American standard), and a refreshing focus on quality over quantity. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so comfortable in any hotel space. Also, I have to mention the spa. I have a lot of influence in my life from American Southern Baptists, and she...

I love visiting Germany, even if it's for only a few days like this recent visit. Wiesbaden was my city of choice this time and Radisson Blu Schwatzer Bock was my hotel of choice. Both were great decisions. Wiesbaden is a nice and surprisingly quiet city and this hotel was perfect for my stay in town. The front desk staff was super helpful in accommodating me with an early check-in... I mean a super...
Little dated and elevation were old but breakfast was very good and very centrally located to the old town and walking section of town
I was looking forward to enjoying the wellness area, but I was told it was not open today. The safe in the room is not working.
Have been many times there on different occasions; can’t review the room, but the rest is absolutely fine. Marvelous ancient building inside with old charm.
Lovely hotel with spacious rooms though a bit outdated (e.g., lack of USB ports, slow internet, open circuitboard underneath an defunct phone). BUT: You just can't beat the location. You are basically in the heart of Wiesbaden. Their team was very friendly and the breakfast option was excellent. Parking is a pain though but that applies to all of Wiesbaden. They don't have their ownparking garage...
Some staff members are very nice and some could be nicer. Food is nice but could be even better. I love the location and the old building, the room was very nice yet some things could do with better maintenance.

Amazing experience in this lovely hotel. Service is exceptional, and the entire hotel interior design and ambiance simply magnificent!
Nassauer Hotel is one of the best and most beautiful hotels ever. A beautiful hotel in every sense of the word. Location, cleanliness, and proximity to the center. It is located in the most prestigious areas of Wiesbaden, the wealthy area. I would like to thank the beautiful Amanda Silva and Carmen for the cooperation and quick response.
Beautiful hotel... Great location and service but.... Running out of hot water!! I do not enjoy cold showers..
I only visited the cigar bar! That was stunning- and if the rest of the hotel is like that, this is well beyond 5 star!
In the centre of the city this is really a pearl :) The food was top class! If you ever want to know how duck is supposed to taste go here ;) thx for the great evening !
The best location. Did you know a natural hot spring fills their gorgeous infinity pool w views, and their spa services are first rate. Do not miss Hannah for your facial and mani. 2 days was simply not enough. Steps from shopping, restaurants, casino, theater, Christmas market. Overall it's not bad, but the level of cleanliness leaves much to be desired: during our three weeks of stay the floor was not washed even once.
The hotel was very clean, and the staff were extremely kind and polite. The price was excellent. Great access to bus, tram, bikes, and scooters. Close to the industrial area, which makes it perfect for business trips. Breakfast quality and variety were also good. I just don’t understand why hotels don’t provide slippers. Also, my room didn’t have a fridge.
The hotel is very good and the stay is very comfortable
The standard of domestic convenient hotels, overall clean and tidy. But the room is relatively small, and the aisle is a bit narrow when a large suitcase is spread out. There is nothing to eat around. It is suitable for a two-day business trip
Decent hotel for the price we paid..however the location is not that great quiet a distance to the nearest bus station and the bus station which is nearby has buses after a long time and the train station is a kilometre away.. apart from that its a fine place if you just wanna relax and be at the hotel for a longer time.. nice lobby .. checkin agent let us store our bags in the. The room facilities are too simple, the mattress is too soft and my waist is very tired when sleeping, the carpet is very dirty, the hotel interior is very simple, not suitable for travel and living for more than 2-3 days; the front desk staff is cold and unenthusiastic, it is five bus stops away from the train station and a 6-minute walk from the supermarket.

Nice hotel clean most all the shops under the hotel . Shopping made it easy without using the car to drive a long distance to shop. Nice location too.
I was really impressed by the hotel - I didn't expect much, I just needed a night in a hotel before an appointment early the next morning. It was convenient to get to by car and the parking garage was huge and excellent. In Germany frequently parking garages are so small and crowded that even with a normal-sized car you have problems getting in and out. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient...
Being a local I take advantage of the lounge for bringing my laptop and getting some work done whilst having an espresso made with devotion by the lovely baristas. The service is impeccable, the coffee very tasty and the atmosphere is great.
The only hotel around that easily accommodates more than 3 people. The super modern looks made the €105 price tag feel like a good deal. We stayed here for 6 nights when we were there for a business. It’s one of the best hotels I have ever been in Germany for its price. It has very modern and big rooms. The breakfast was great. This is my second stay at this hotel. I stayed here a number of years ago. The reception staff is helpful and courteous. The rooms are nicely furnished, quiet and clean. The location is great! It is within walking distance to both the shopping district and the Hauptbahnhof. It is a terrific value for the money.
Maybe my standards are too high, but I'm not agreeing with the number of stars assigned to German hotels.
In one word: average. A bit more extended: location just great, service good, breakfast below average, although still within "ok" range, rooms rather outdated but work well, toilet and shower new and of above average quality. Clean. Overall, an uncomplicated stay in a centrally located spot.
nice hotel, new, comfortable bed, close to the frankfurt airport, good breakfast, parking. on the downside the rooms are small and it is far from city center. all in all a decent comfortable hotel
Yes the rooms are a bit dated but they are clean, the lighting is nice and the bathtubs are amazing and modern. The staff is so helpful and very sweet. When they found out that we were sick with colds they sent up tea, a kettle and fresh lemon to our rooms. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 8 nights and liked the hotel in general. A very simple 2 star hotel with not much to offer, but it has everything you need. The breakfast was good, nothing special but also nothing to complain about. The location is amazing as there are enough restaurants nearby and a REWE ( Supermarket ) right across the road. The Rhein River is also only 5 min walking away.
Like most IBIS hotels, this one is a bit outdated, so one shouldn't have too high expectations. It's a quite an old hotel, but the rooms and facilities are properly maintained. The main downside is that the rooms have no option to open the windows or to bring fresh air from outside, which in this pandemic situation seems unacceptable from my side, but at the reception they inform us that they can cancel the reservation.
A nice hotel that is quite adequate. The staff were accommodating, nice and happy to help. The rooms are a bit dated but the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was private. Conveniently located to the base housing our friends were located in and not far from the charming downtown area of Wiesbaden.
It is not the most modern hotel but it is clean and the staff are friendly. The room was fine but the bed was a bit hard for me but I guess some people like a firm mattress.
