Clean rooms, good river view, polite und informative Staff! I was there for a workshop and I needed a good internet connection and as a matter of fact I thought with a hotel like this you get a connection automatically! Carpets and furniture needs a deep clean. Stained and grubby. Fridges work poorly and the rooms are too hot. Windows open a crack which is not enough to cool the rooms. Staff try their best and are courteous.

Hotel a bit tired, o attended a corporate event - buffet service, food just ok, dinner or the 2 lunches. 3 instructions sent regarding a mobility friendly room and put on 6th floor, considered I could use the lifts in an emergency (fires?)! Nicely renovated modern business hotel. Cosy reception and nice courtyard. Decent bar area. Spacious rooms. The €40pp breakfast is pricey compared to the cafes in town. Has a small indoor pool and a basic gym. Central location.

Rooms are refreshed with loads of commercial grade perfumes. 4 hours of Windows open didn't change the situation. If you are sensible to smells - choose different hotel.

It used to be a really nice place to be in the center. But the last couple of years, the standard has been going down. I found dirty towels in the bathroom and the television in the rooms, are really bad. Mercure really has to be updated. Beds are still good, but I’m scared of what could be hidden.

The Hotel is very central, close to a shopping center (Malakoff-Passage) and has very helpful staff. I had left a laundry bag full of shirts at the hotel. This was sent to me immediately at the house's expense. The staff is also otherwise very helpful! Elsewise it's very good value for money.The breakfast is quite nice, but nothing special.

If you don't have any other option (as in my case), you can choose this hotel. Pretty hard to communicate in English. But they try. The room is pretty small, but clean. The bathroom is very small, very uncomfortable to take a shower. The breakfast gives you very few options. There is an underground parking, very expensive one.

This is an old hotel. The rooms are old and very dusty. Bring a UV torch, the level of invisible stains on the bedroom carpet will make you feel sick. The bathroom is very basic, shower over the bath. There is no evening restaurant service. Staff are pleasant and helpful, and the location is very good, 10mins walk to central Mainz.

I stayed at Atrium Hotel several times for conferences and business meetings - the rooms are comfortable, the staff is friendly, the conference rooms are well equipped, and the food is decent. The hotel itself does not have a gym, you have to collect a card at the reception to access the gym down the road from the hotel. Happy to return for business trips.

Location, location, location... and Schwarzer Bock has oodles of it! It may be one of the old great hotels, or -rather- it probably was. It all feels a bit dated now. Schwarzer Bock is named after the founder whose last name was Bock and who had pitch black hair. It's the oldest hotel in Europe (so the reception told me) built in 1486. It's quaint. Almost has a boutique feel. All the marble in the entryway is original. 600 years old. They have two original stairwells. One marble and one wooden. During my last stay I had a bad smell in room. It smelled of chlorine. The fries that came with my steak were extremeley salty. The biggest drawdown for me, however, was that there wasn't any real wholemeal bread.
