Where to stay in Winterberg

Everything was good except the parking. Their ripoff system steals 15 euro every time you exit, even though it's supposed to be 15 per 24 hours, unless you register your car license plate in the system, then it is supposed to be 9 euro. I regstered my car but they still stole 15 euro on every exit. The reception claimed there should be SPACES in my car number plate! Whoever heard of spaces in a car...

Good points : breakfast and location Bad points : Few of them speak English, communication is not easy.

This hotel has great basics. Great bed, pillows, super silent, it's spacious, the shower was nice, everything was clean, coffee maker in the apartment, pool was very warm and pleasant. I am taking away 1 star for the bad technology that just got me way too annoyed for a 1-night stay. The check-in online got stuck on the credit card validation after I had put all my personal info - I already provided...

I liked everything! Very clean rooms. Comfortable beds. There is a small kitchen, which is very convenient. The view from the windows is amazing. Fresh air. You can sit on the balcony and admire the local scenery. The breakfast is delicious, there is everything you want. The place is an awesome location and easily accessible. Hotel has covered parking (9€ per night), a play room for kids, Pool and sauna. An amazing experience that we will not soon forget! The hotel's location is perfect for a nice walk to attractions in Winterberg (Shopping area, Ski Lifts, Rodelbahn, Hiking Trails, etc.), and a short drive to surrounding towns with other attractions (swimming, mini-golf, boating, etc.). The sauna and wellness area is very relaxing. Soothing music in the background while you enjoy multi temperature...

The staff is very kind and the rooms are very clean and and with 8 beds you can accommodate many people. The one bad thing is the wifi as there is a poor signal throughout the entire hotel. Edit: I should've complained about the wifi so that was on me and it wasn't really bad outside of the room.

Location top, dinners great. Kids friendly, however the kids club they could improve a bit, very small and outdated in my view. Kids buffet can be improved, it was everyday chicken and friet, could add some pasta and beef, carrots, etc. Please be aware that it is a Dutch place.:) Rooms a bit small. Overall, can recommend to everyone, especially with kids and who ski.

Went during winter. Nice hotel, breakfast and diner were also good. Sauna is very beautiful and nice. We booked a 2 person room and also used the ski/snowboarddepot that was included. However, when you have a snowboard and skis, 1 pair of shoes will NOT fit in the locker. The depot is really small when you have a 2 person room. We addressed this to the reception and were allowed to bring the boots...

Location of the Hotel is great, right next to ski lifts. Breakfast and dinner were also great, very well organized. In the morning we would chose our dinner menu. Kids are getting crayons and coloring papers before dinner. Nice pool area. Spacious rooms. Very friendly staff.

Location is quiet, which makes it very cozy. But easy to go to the center and agitation. It has ski slopes and lifts very close. Room was clean and had two beds united. A bit of an effort to sleep in 2. Otherwise, very comfortable, with extra chairs and desk, tv. Ut was warm, which we liked. Bathroom small but has what you need. Winterberg is à place where u can have fun! There are so many things to do that it is à perfect place for everyone. Winterberg is known for some good mountenbike trails, also those are fun ! All litlle and big ways True thé Woods are Very maintained. I stayed at winterberg resort(***+*), this hôtel was also very good and very close to everything ! First downhill trail was 100 meters away!

The room was ok, we stayed there in summer, it was quite hot and the window could only tilt slightly, it could not properly open. No Airco to compensate. Apart from this, the hotel is very nice, good Wi-Fi all over, really friendly staff and the food is exceptional!

Our room was quite basic, but you have everything you need. Breakfast and dinner is buffet style, so you just eat what you want and how much you want. You get plenty of choices for breakfast: breads, buns, cereal, fruits.... The bar is also nice and cozy.

Everything was perfect 👌 The staff is super nice and the Spa is amazing. The food is great and not so overpriced. We were able to stay the entire day at the spa even after checking out. If you are looking to relax and have a good time I recommend it.

My husband and I had a simply perfect time at the Hotel Oversum. Embedded in nature, architecturally beautiful inside and out with spacious rooms, we loved it. The food was outstanding and the spa and swimming pool were the perfect places to relax. In addition, wonderfully attentive and friendly staff. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for an incredible experience.

Positive: location ..in a quiet surrounding, a park, no traffic, good panorama, bright rooms, a few minutes walking distance to the city center, free parking. Sauna, pools all on good condition and very comfortable to use, probably from this perspective the best choice in Winterberg. I didn't like: the pictures of the hotel look nice but in reality it is more design than quality. The Lifts were ugly...

We stayed for 2 nights. Very nicely decorated hotel, cozy atmosphere. Staff is very welcoming. The hotel is dog-friendly. Only downside is a fairly mediocre dinner for a high price. And breakfast is 28 euros per person - breakfast was fine but not worth 28 euros pp. The pool and indoor sauna are very clean. The outdoor sauna was out of order when we visited. The view from the room was outstanding

I cannot comment on the hotel. We stayed for diner. Nice diverse menu with plenty vegetarian dishes. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Recommended!

Very sympathetic and welcoming personal. Charming Hotel, with comfortable rooms and well situated for nice mountain hikes or cycling roads. The kitchen is creative and tasty, with organic seasonal ingredients. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We been recently in this hotel with my husband for 6 nights. It is been perfect, highly recommended. Spa is outstanding!!! So relaxing there. Breathtaking surroundings. Lot of place could visited near by. This is a 4 star hotel with amazing view in the mountains. We were there for six nights, but we didn't have time to try everything.

We stayed at a one room apartment with two elders and two children. The apartment is new and well furnished. Very clean. The location is also very good there are lots of activities available around the park. The hotel is having a SPA with an indoor pool. We will go again .

We came here for our first experience with Winterberg. A spacious apartment with kitchen and bathroom in a separate room. But really guys, the bedroom, had no curtain or window cover of any kind. We went back to the reception and they offered us a pair a bed sheets and a do it yourself. 3 days passed and no one came to offer a better solution and score some extra points. The bed covers where too...

We stayed in the apartments that are 300m from the hotel building and we absolutely loved our stay. It wasn't a busy period so parking was available at all times, it was clean and spacious, quiet and relaxing - all we wanted. The pillows do need an urgent update so I recommend getting a pillow from home if that's something that's a deal breaker for you. The rest was great.

The cleanliness was good and the staff was very friendly. However, the rooms are very clairaudient. Next door with the people in room no. 216 felt like a hostel for party people, very noisy. Therefore it's not fair the price!!

We had a lovely stay here! Friendly staff, very clean and great facilities. We didn't enjoy their breakfast (so I can't judge that), because we had booked an apartment. Swimming pool was great and very relaxing, the apartment was perfect and the location was good! Only downside to the apartments is that they're not located inside the main building, so in winter time it's quite cold to walk to and from...

Beautiful hotel set in the beautiful mountains. We visited with our 4 and 1 year old kids so we could not do any of the hiking around the area but we loved our stay there. We went beginning of October. The view of the mountains from our room was just breathtaking! Must be beautiful to stay here overnight. Its pricey but you get value for your money. They even have rooms downstairs for dog owner

We stayed at the hotel in february 2019 - as we went skiing i Winterberg. A very nice hotel, excellent location and a very nice atmosphere. The staff, especially in the restaurant, are very kind and attentive. Nice with a pool - after a day of skiing.

We had a great company winter event. The only missing star is the furnishing of the rooms and bathrooms. Investment has been made on wellness. Family run, extremely good hospitality, food quality beyond "Gutburgerlich" Surroundings are also great. We would certainly come back!

The guy on the reception desk when we arrived, was excellent, a very friendly and welcoming face ***** He gave us a complete run down of the resort and made us very welcome.

Staff is friendly, especially at the bar. The rooms are adequate for what you pay. At one point there was a malfunction with our shower water, and staff was very nice about immediately helping us change rooms. The work out room is unfortunately equipped pretty bare-bones, and the spa area has been called somewhat outdated.

Solid rooms, friendly staff and good food. A strange plus are the tunnels between all buildings - don't get too drunk or you get lost :)

I had a very nice and relaxed stay at "Der Schöne Asten". The room was comfortable and clean and the service very friendly (if a little inexperienced at times). The menu has been overhauled recently and the new food and drink are excellent . Try the burgers! At peak times there could be a little wait, but nothing bad. This hotel has got lovely steaks and very good service. make sure to book a table - since it's always busy. You have live piano played by the owner/manager. I would highly recommend this place for a good dinner and stay.

Friendly Welcome. Room was ready although they have an unusual check out time of 14:00. Clean sunny room. TV , balcony but no fridge or safe, but large wardrobe. Shower/ WC. Beds comfortable. In the desk was a sealed package, price tag 30 Euros. Initially thought it would be chocolates, but no it said on the back this included batteries and 3 condoms. So fun , not edible ! Breakfast was a high standard...

Room was nice, everything worked fine. Be aware: street side rooms can be very loud coz of the traffic. Breakfast is average, it did not convince us to go for dinner as well. Location is very good, ski lift is about 10-15 mins on foot, city center is about 3 mins. Staff does not speak English but friendly. As you can see in the pictures, an extraordinary ambience. There's so much to see there. The rooms are very nicely decorated. The breakfast is great, something for everyone. You could choose from three menus for dinner. Super tasty. The spa area was great, not so sterile, very nice to relax.

We went there for bowling and it was quite a unique experience. The bowling place had one lane with the lane and bowling balls being different and the controls were confusing to say the least. The staff was friendly but hard to find. Personally wouldn't recommend but it was alright.

Girlfriends wellness vacation 3 nights Was with my girlfriend on March 11, 2024 for 3 nights in the beautiful small family hotel. We had the Mexico themed room, it was very nicely decorated with a small tea corner and very clean. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and there was something for everyone, it was always refilled, the nice lady who kept coming to the tables in the morning was courteous...

We stayed in the Loft, which is about 10 minutes from the Hotel, but is an excellent flat with lots of space and nice living spaces. We had full access to the Sauna (even after we checked out, we were able to come back to use the shower after skiing before driving to the airport). Pleasant stay and the check in process was easy and efficient.

The hotel is very rural and is very attractive for walkers. Excellent care, somewhat dated decor, but friendly staff.

In the meantime we have been to the Landgasthof Wüllner for the third time. As always, everything was to our greatest satisfaction! Particularly to be highlighted was the food (buffet) in the evening. Everything freshly prepared and with that special something! Here again a big compliment to the kitchen and to the always friendly and attentive service. We would of course like to come back next year

We arrived at 16.00 clock in the restaurant. 2 large and 2 small guests. Although the kitchen brigade just wanted to go into the afternoon break, we were allowed to order. Everything is freshly cooked and well prepared. Only the espresso could not quite keep up ...

The location is very nice for parties, family celebrations or workations. Jost and Kathrin run the house with a lot of love. The mix of "old style" and modern country house style is really nice.

Nice big family home away from home. Big rooms with en suite bathrooms, large living room and sauna facilities. Kitchen is workable but a bit narrow. Two minutes walking from the snowfields, 10 minutes from the ski slope. Ski rental at the beginning and end of the street. Private parking. Highly recommended!

The house has about 10 rooms and could house about 20-25 persons. Additional Two rooms were still remodeling. Has a small kitchen with dishwasher microwave stoove oven and fridge. Also a infrared and dry sauna with additional shower. There is parking space for 8 cars. And a small garden with a barbeque (not cleaned...) big living room with dinner table and smal room with an old piano. Some old boardgames...

The hotel is very nice and has a good restaurant. After initially moving into a not-so-nice room (which, according to the nice owner, is now being changed), upon request we were offered another, really great room at no extra cost. Great stay - great thing!

We were there in mid-December and we really enjoyed it. As soon as we arrived in front of the house, we were totally amazed by the whole ambience, how lovingly it was decorated, how beautiful everything was, really a dream. The family that runs the house, the employees, everyone is so nice, friendly and helpful that you just don't want to leave. I then booked an upgrade to the suite as a little surprise...

The beautiful hotel is in a quiet location, the entrance area/reception is lovingly designed. We stayed in the adjacent building for 2 nights. The rooms are modernly furnished and clean. We were very enthusiastic about the breakfast buffet, it had everything we needed to start the day comfortably. The staff was very friendly. We visit Central hotel every time we go to Winterberg Last year we even stayed there. The food is quite good for the money you pay. This year we went there again and had lunch which again met our expectations.Nice and cozy environment in the heart of the center. I blindly recommend this platform a good drink and lunch. Not a pub or a place for teenagers and early Twenties audience.
