A nice hotel for 1 or two nights. We went hiking and the hotel had everything we need. Rooms are good, breakfast as well. Wellness area was disappointing, just 2 small Saunas and a small pool. Location was good for us to start our hiking tour. All in all ok.

Clean hotel, but I miss the traditional German hospitality. Self Check-in and a Robot to deliver your food simply doesnt match with the area and the style of the hotel. Staff very friendly, great location next to the sledge slope. Lovely cottages, nice spa.

The hotel has everything to be a good quality four-star hotel, but unfortunately the service of the staff spoils everything... We had booked a triple room for 2 adults and a child of 9 years old. Upon arrival, there was double bed and a baby bed in our room, a mistake of housekeeping. Of course, that can happen, but after more than 2 hours of waiting, still no solution was offered. Everything was good except the parking. Their ripoff system steals 15 euro every time you exit, even though it's supposed to be 15 per 24 hours, unless you register your car license plate in the system, then it is supposed to be 9 euro. I regstered my car but they still stole 15 euro on every exit. The reception claimed there should be SPACES in my car number plate! Whoever heard of spaces in a car...

An amazing experience that we will not soon forget! The hotel's location is perfect for a nice walk to attractions in Winterberg (Shopping area, Ski Lifts, Rodelbahn, Hiking Trails, etc.), and a short drive to surrounding towns with other attractions (swimming, mini-golf, boating, etc.). The sauna and wellness area is very relaxing. Soothing music in the background while you enjoy multi temperature...

The staff is very kind and the rooms are very clean and and with 8 beds you can accommodate many people. The one bad thing is the wifi as there is a poor signal throughout the entire hotel. Edit: I should've complained about the wifi so that was on me and it wasn't really bad outside of the room.

Location top, dinners great. Kids friendly, however the kids club they could improve a bit, very small and outdated in my view. Kids buffet can be improved, it was everyday chicken and friet, could add some pasta and beef, carrots, etc. Please be aware that it is a Dutch place.:) Rooms a bit small. Overall, can recommend to everyone, especially with kids and who ski.

Went during winter. Nice hotel, breakfast and diner were also good. Sauna is very beautiful and nice. We booked a 2 person room and also used the ski/snowboarddepot that was included. However, when you have a snowboard and skis, 1 pair of shoes will NOT fit in the locker. The depot is really small when you have a 2 person room. We addressed this to the reception and were allowed to bring the boots...

Location of the Hotel is great, right next to ski lifts. Breakfast and dinner were also great, very well organized. In the morning we would chose our dinner menu. Kids are getting crayons and coloring papers before dinner. Nice pool area. Spacious rooms. Very friendly staff.

Really nice hotel with great rooms, services (people and equipment) and food. Location is practical, in the village, a little away from the ski slopes (but a free shuttle service is provided or access by car is very fast).

Very beautiful hotel, with spacious and comfortable rooms. My kids were very pleased by the little details reserved for them such as kids slippers and kids personal care kit with special shower gel, shampoo, body lotion and a wet cleaning paper just for them. The service was excellent and the location is great. We went to the spa and it was clean and curated. Really enjoyed the stay.

Great place to stay for skiing in the Sauerland. The Big Egg building is iconic, the views from the rooms are great, the huge jacuzzi is fantastic after skiing or hiking, and the indoor pool has a diving board and a slide. There is an outdoor pool also but it was winter when I was there. The breakfast buffet is great. Bar was nice and had good wine. Good restaurant options within walking distance...

Great hotel just at the end of downtown Winterberg. Beautiful views of the area. The spa area is huge and very nice. I did not care for the strange ergonomic pillows but that's just a personal preference. We got stuck for a short time in the elevator so be aware. The breakfast buffet is really nice.

I was there for a one-day yoga workshop from the online yoga course. The resort is impressive! The food was excellent. The service was outstanding and very friendly. I would also like to check out the rooms and other amenities.

For us, two people with a dog, the hotel was a true oasis of relaxation over Christmas. It's wonderfully quiet up here, and many beautiful hikes are accessible directly from the hotel. the place was clean and quite. rooms are sufficient for a short weekend stay. not far from ski lifts and has its own parking space. the staff are friendly.

The location is excellent (but be aware that parking space is limited), rooms are a little bit outdated, but OK. The service is really bad, especially the owners are very unfriendly when you have an extra wish (e.g., fried eggs for breakfast) or small complaints (e.g., toilet flush is not working correctly). I suggest to find another alternative if possible.

Hotel room comes with free access to the indoor swimmingpool, turkish steambath, infrared sauna and regular swedish sauna. Very relaxing. Situated right in the center of Winterberg.

The room was spacious, nice breakfast, lovely pool.

All together it wasn't very bad. However the waitress was not very pleasant and simple refused to speak English, she also had no patients what so ever and made the whole experience Al lot less pleasant. The food tasted pretty good, presentation was ok, but not as good as it used to be. The old school German taste wasn't very much there. Not the classic German vinegar salad that we used to love here...

Great place to stay in summer, when prices are literally half compared with wintertime. Great spacious room and a comfortable swimming pool.

One big problem was the lack of a dedicated ski boot room ( there was only an improvised solution). Also, the glutenfree bread in the morning was served only sparingly.

Very friendly staff, and they have their private parking. No need to reserve. They are situated near a tunnel under the centre of Winterberg, so if you walk up the side of the tunnel you are right in the centre! And the hotel is really near the main road. Very convenient.

Perfect place for a ski vacation, you have all the amenities needed for this and more. The hotel is close to the city center and to the ski slopes. The atmosphere is great, the staff is super nice, and the food is tasty. Would definitely come back here again.

As you can see in the pictures, an extraordinary ambience. There's so much to see there. The rooms are very nicely decorated. The breakfast is great, something for everyone. You could choose from three menus for dinner. Super tasty. The spa area was great, not so sterile, very nice to relax.

We went there for bowling and it was quite a unique experience. The bowling place had one lane with the lane and bowling balls being different and the controls were confusing to say the least. The staff was friendly but hard to find. Personally wouldn't recommend but it was alright.

Girlfriends wellness vacation 3 nights Was with my girlfriend on March 11, 2024 for 3 nights in the beautiful small family hotel. We had the Mexico themed room, it was very nicely decorated with a small tea corner and very clean. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and there was something for everyone, it was always refilled, the nice lady who kept coming to the tables in the morning was courteous...

This hotel has got lovely steaks and very good service. make sure to book a table - since it's always busy. You have live piano played by the owner/manager. I would highly recommend this place for a good dinner and stay.

Friendly Welcome. Room was ready although they have an unusual check out time of 14:00. Clean sunny room. TV , balcony but no fridge or safe, but large wardrobe. Shower/ WC. Beds comfortable. In the desk was a sealed package, price tag 30 Euros. Initially thought it would be chocolates, but no it said on the back this included batteries and 3 condoms. So fun , not edible ! A wonderful hotel with fantastic hosts who couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing and mostly homemade. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. It was a shame we were only staying for 3 nights.

We stayed two nights. Hotel is very nice, there are rooms 'in' the hotel but also across the street. So if you stay there you have to go outside if you are going to breakfast, which is a minor inconvenience. The breakfast is of high quality. Few weeks ago we are staying at Sauerland Stern Hotel. We want to describe our experience just with one word : Fantastic ! We found this hotel just by random searching through the google map. We were looking for a hotel close to the ski piste. Sauerland Stern Hotel was at walking distance. During our stay there was a child playground, they called it : Kinder-Eldorado. Arrived without a booking and was able to get a family room. First room they gave us was not made up. Second room they gave us was dirty gooey stuff on wardrobe, splashes up the walls and around the light switch .No coffee or tea. Housekeeping came and said, they had lots of parties. He said he would report it. Cleaned the marks stocked the coffee and left. For the price of the hotel, this is not...

I had the pleasure of staying at the **Sauerland Stern Hotel** during the **BGHW Sifa Fortbildung**, and it was a delightful experience. Spiritual experience. Stayed three nights. As I said before, staff could be more affable. Food was nice though and beds were fine. Bedrooms were clean and spacious. Their price could also have been cheaper

The park is huge and nicely arranged. The houses are well maintained, nicely furnished, good equipped and very clean. The facilities in the park are great for children and the ski slopes are just a 20 mins car drive away.

The rooms in Hotel Hochheide have a Nice view, plus the center of the city is nearby. Also the public transport is very accesible. The swimming pool is at walking distance. Overall its a Nice hotel.

Overall the hotel is good, with good facilitées. The issue is with the staff with an employee being rude, unpolite, showing agressivity and not respecting privacy. I felt in danger ! I had to raise the case to my lawyer.

We stayed for three nights! We had a great room, we enjoyed the breakfast and the location of the hotel was perfect. We also had dinner one night. The portions are big, but in my opinion the food here was not really special. Price/quality was fine. However the staff was really nice and helpful! We will definitely be back!

A location worthy of Germany with nice staff and a restaurant ready for instagram photos. The town is like as to welcome tourists. If you stay at this hotel, don't worry about parking because the hotel has numerous spots including parking for charging electric cars.

For a room over €200 per night and rated 4 star, we expected the bathroom to have at least more than just a 3in1 shower gel. Wi-Fi did not work too until issue was brought up to reception, which only an additional set up instruction was given. Pillow was typical cheap with no support kinda German pillow. Unfortunately, we were allocated a room with adjoining balcony whereby cigarette smoke entered...

A lovely hotel, with wonderful breakfast and excellent pool and spa, right in the middle of town. It suffers a little from old fashioned decor but you can just choose to see that as charming.

we chose the newer 2-room apartment in the photo, we were assigned an old but well-maintained one.Good location .The service and reception were nice. Alot of old people stayed in the hotel, which bothered us a bit. The bar was very small. The breakfast was good, average. We spent a long time choosing a hotel in Willingen, but this one disappointed us a little.

We selected the hotel because of location and our pleasant stay 2 years ago. The hotel has spacious parking. Our room had a spacious terrace with furniture, nice seating area and well equipped, practical bathroom. Breakfast is absolutely excellent and staff is efficient and friendly. We will be back.

A really nice house that I really want to come back to. Quiet, neat, delicious food, attentive service. In addition, there is a beautiful wide view of the opposite ski slope. Depending on the season for hiking or for fun in the snow. Including a training slope for the little ones.

I had a surgery in a near by dental clinic and stayed in the hotel. I live in Dubai and travel a lot to many high end hotels. This hotel is one of the most welcoming and cleanest places I ever stayed in. The owner was so friendly and treated me and my sister like family. The room is spacious and very comfortable. Highly recommend this place. Shuttle service is available too. Perfect place to stay.

We were upgraded to the honeymoon sweet which was very nice. Classic design, big room with a large terrace and spacious bathroom, good bed, pillows and linnen. Great personal service all around! The owner mans the desk, the chef takes orders and serves your meals himself. And boy he can cook! Probably top 3 of the most imaginative, pretty and tasty dishes I've ever had in Germany - healthy local produce...

The hotel itself is comfortably spacious and has a beautiful view. But during our visit early this October, the dam is under renovation, so what was supposed to be “lake view room” just became a room with a drained water view. Location overlooking the Eder Dam, the castle buildings and various views available.

If you can make the hike to the top the view will absolutely be worth it. I made a video of it for you to see here. Don't worry if it is a long drive up the hill, right before the top their is a bathroom stop amongst all the parking spots, the cleanest bathroom I've seen in my life. You should check it out to see how accurate I am. There is also a restaurant and gift shop inside the castle.

Great views, cool sightseeing. Not too many people. Nice gift shop, but for some reason they yell at u if u try to translate book titles with an photo app.

Not really much to do. But you have a very nice view over the Edersee

Beautiful Castle on Edersee, worth the visit. Great area to Hike and Swim afterwards if desire.

Location was perfect. Hotel facilities very good and excellent breakfast buffet.

It was great, we wore there for the lake, and we walked down from the hotel. lucky us, they have a chairlif near the road so you can easily be up there. On my birthday they give us free sect.

Luxury and comfort from 60''s in a 500-inhabitants village. Still - clean, nice breakfast, and if you like bicycle rides, exactly in the right place. They have a castle nearby, too :)

Great stay, our family room was clean and nice. Spa and pool also nice. Early in the morning with little children was fine. Location near village center. Parking in the back site of hotel is free. We went skiing in Willingen from here. (40min drive)

This hotel is a very beautiful hotel, with friendly staff. The spa facilities are very good. Swimming pool inside and outside, sauna in and outside. Bad Arolsen is also a very nice little town . We had a beautiful room ( junior suite ) with very good beds. Breakfast was very good. If possible we certainly will retain here.

The reception was very professional & friendly, I had to go for a walk because my room wasn’t ready until 3pm. In regards to previous reviews: yes some aspects of the rooms are showing wear & tear but the management is apparently renovating room-by-room so as to not cause construction stress for the guests. We are visiting from another country and got to the hotel past early morning. We were in need to find a room and Krebs was absolutely amazing. He helped us with every single thing and did not leave our side until we were all set up. He went back and forth to help us and also spoke excellent English which helped since we do not speak Dutch. His patience, understanding and ability to go above and beyond...
