It mostly depends what you are looking for. For a no frills kite surfing vacationer it's a good place for the money. Even if you come with the family. I'd say that's the great place for kite surfing groups, as soon as there are no folks picky on five star food, drink and entertainment service. I stayed at Villa Taina for 4 days and had a fantastic experience. My room was on the first floor right in front of the pool, and the beach was absolutely beautiful. Velero truly is the best here in the DR. we are on our honeymoon and unfortunately booked somewhere else originally that said they were a 4 star but was a 1 star, & Velero saved our honeymoon. Nicely nestled away from the noise in Cabarete, this great gem of a location is ideal for more relaxed and quieter getaway. Not to say it doesn't get traffic. Also has a restaurant on location and is close to many other options, including a supermarket a 3 minutes walk away. Rooms are clean and well equipped, with the junior suites being my recommendation. My favourite getaway on the north coast.

We spent a quiet relaxing week at this scenic location. Everything was wonderful except our climb up the spiral staircase to our third floor room. The team at this hotel goes above and beyond to ensure that your stay is amazing. The food at the restaurant on site is outstanding highly recommend the mixed grilled seafood and they make the best coffee ever worth a trip just to get a cup!

Great little hotel clean right on the beach

Excellent location for being in the heart of kite surfing!!! Super amiable staff, right next to a couple of beach eateries and in the mix of all kite folks hanging out, really cool even for us wanna be kiters! I especially loved the spotlessly clean room! Great value for this hotel!

The closeness to Kite Beach, with Kite Club Cabarete right next to it was great. Where they were really helpful launching and catching the kites. And Kenneth the portier was really helpful taking our luggage to our room, giving us tips on where to eat and where to buy food for the room. If we had any questions he gladly answered them.

Absolutely peaceful. Additionally, the staff are friendly and superior in every way. If you are looking for a tranquil getaway, this is the place. The rooms are huge with a kitchenette. Love this hotel. It's a Cabarete jewel. We've stayed at the Millennium many times. Always beautiful, peaceful, clean and great service. My husband it's a surfer and when he goes to the surfing beach. I can stay on my own and rest at the beach or at the pool. It's the perfect beach for kite surfing too. Next time planning to take some lessons. There is school next door. I highly recommend it.

Common areas, we feel like staying in a jungle near the sea

Dinner at the restaurant was outstanding. Breakfast and lunch were solid and very good. The lemonade mint ginger drink was phenomenal. Lovely views of the ocean from the restaurants and yoga shala. The cabanas mostly seemed like a 30 second walk to the beach. Gorgeous beach. Note: if you do a day pass, it is required that you pay in cash for the spa and restaurants to take advantage of the discount

Loved the place, the food and the staff. But walking by the beach a person pointed at us with a shot gun literally less than 2 mins away from the hotel and it was very scary and will not do that walk again - something we really enjoyed as it was the path to Encuentro - a surf spot we love - so keep that in mind if you like to walk in nature around the property.

Great, rustic place right by the beach in Cabarete. If you get the Ceviche, just make sure the fish has been sufficiently "cured" by the lemon juice. Had to send mine back to get cooked a little extra. I don't do raw or near-raw fish. That said, we still all had a great meal and enjoyed our lunch immensely.

Amazing place. After traveling in the island for two weeks, we were welcomed by Renee to the luxurious appartment and felt right at home. Spent in this hotel 4 months - 3 in apartment and 1 in a room. Great botanic garden, great stuff, safe place, nice pool. Room wasn't extra, but it served, apartment was cool - spacious, 2 teraces. The onli minus is internet - always up and down, when raining mostly network not available... if you come here and would like to work, I suggest Claro internet sim, otherwise it will not work.

Very quiet - a rarirty in DR - hotel. AC and I think the hot water worked. Some places say they have hot water... What makes this hotel stand out is that it is close to the main drag and beautiful gardens around the pool for great effect. You will pay less if you don't make reservations. Most places in the DR charge the gringo rate over the internet.

It's like staying in a botanical garden, or a rainforest. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and great pool area. The best part is the not only is it literally across the street from beautiful Cabarete Beach, but it's in the middle of the action. Walking distant to amazing beachfront restaurants.
