We had an awesome time at this resort. We loved the beach, the layout of the hotel and the friendly staff. My favorite part was that there were a lot of cats in the grounds.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, but somewhat outdated. I loved the beautiful beach and huge pool. I am going to miss that beach with crystal clear turquoise water

The luxurious amenities exemplary services and prime location are what grabbed our attention to the hotel, We love everything I highly recommend Bahia principe el gran portillo for it's cozy friendly staff serene atmosphere and customer service and the activities is 100

They have a vast variety of food options in the buffet. Their food is also top quality. This resort has so many activities that it’s impossible to get bored

All the days we had quite decent waves but if you want calmer waters you can walk 7-10 minutes to a neighboring beach where with almost no waves

The beach was beautiful and clean and the service was wonderful. Everyone was attentive and friendly very caring staff

This is the first time we have chosen the Dominican Republic for our holiday. Not having the slightest experience in this republic, we honestly chose the presence of a beautiful beach and were right

In addition, what was our surprise upon arrival that this particular hotel was only for adults (without children), for us specifically this was a BIG plus, since we did not see such a description of the hotel on the website

One of the best beaches in DR. One area the water is so calm it resembles a pool. Rivals Siesta Key in Florida

Spectacular sunsets over a sea so calm it could virtually be a mill pond. The tranquillity of the sea is matched by that of the point itself, palm fringed, rarely many people and no traffic noise

But is like a hidden beach so it Took me a few minutes to find it. However there’s really nothing around but villas

An ideal spot from which to contemplate the sunset in all too rare peace and quiet

I recommend, (if you’re a not staying in the area) bring food and water spend the day and watch the sunset

It’s a very quiet hotel with a beautiful property full of trees and plants, located right on the beach and beach path

Wonderful beach property displaying a Spanish colonial architecture, great beach views, with a beach sidewalk shared with other restaurants and hotels to walk and enjoy a different scenery

They arranged taxi services for us, and the housekeeping team was incredible—going above and beyond each day to keep our room spotless. There are lots of great restaurants and drinks just steps away

The good : The location is nice, the hotel is beautiful. The bad: The beach front of the hotel isn't much to write home about especially considering the dirty sun beds and the beach in general in front of the hotel

This review is for the restaurant. Many different options to choose from. Seafood, meats, pizza, etc We went there back to back because of how much we liked it the 1st time. Our dishes were octopus, shrimp and pizza

Superb Customer Service upon arrival. We drove in to inquire if they had a room, no problem , reasonable rate. Gracious host, comfortable , clean rooms , and very well maintained grounds & pool

The hotel was ok. The fridge did not work. 😢The pool was ok and to be honest I would book it again since the bed was comfortable and the AC worked great!!!! I would recommend to my friends and family

Great friendly staff. We got the big suite with a private jacuzzi. Great amount of space and we had about 7 people us. It’s a perfect location. Right in front of the beach and local restaurants.

Nice atmosphere, service was very good, ordered Pizza and Red Wine. Pizza was good, not special but certainly not bad. Ingredients did not seem fresh and sauce tasted from a can but most pizzas in this town are like that

Staff was nice, but the hotel is lacking. The AC was really good, beds were decent, room was clean. They provided a small and flat soap, 1 for 4 of us. Parking there is a nightmare, barely 4 spots for the entire hotel

The problem with this hotel is that other guests usually make parties and play loud music and you can not rest. Also you can hear people walking in the halls. It is one of the lowest rate in Las Terrenas

Well run, well maintained small hotel in an excellent location, easy walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and the downtown area. But, not so close to the main drag that you hear all of the loud motos and ATVs

She made sure we knew where all the amenities were and was very sweet and sincere. There is also a pool, which isn't the biggest but very private and is open at all hours

During my stay, I was the only one using the pool from time to time since the beaches are beautiful, and most people prefer to go to the beautiful beaches in Las Terrenas

It is a short walk from the beach, and there are various beaches along the coast of Las Terrenas that you can enjoy. The reception was very welcoming and informational

There is a restaurant and two pools on site as well as a spa and is well placed in terms of the town centre and a wide range of restaurants

The beach is just across the road, the proximity of the road a noise of the traffic is pretty much the only downside, but unfortunately this is the same for all the hotels and apartments on Punty Popy beach

Liked · The team are super friendly and profesional. Private security, cleaning team, gardeners, reception team, and minigolf cart to carry you around. The pools were great and so was the apartment

) Cleaning team was good, but always seem to come after 5 pm when we were back from the beach, so it was a bit awkward to ask them to stay whilst we wanted to shower and get ready

It is a ocean front property since it is across the street from the beach but it doesn't have a beach club or direct access to the beach, I ended up going to different places to access the beach

Excellent apartments, well furnished, equipped and maintained to a high standard. The complex has a range of one, two and three bed apartments ranging up to duplexes with large roof terraces, so something for all tastes

All the rooms were clean and super cute! We especially loved our two-bedroom. Very unique, nice little decorative touches, breezy and comfy patio, and really nice pool. The staff were also very helpful and nice

We just got back from Las Terranas! We stayed with a group of friends (four couples) at the Albachiara. Two couples had their own room and we shared a two-bedroom room with another couple

It was so spacious and not crowded. The beach was only a few yards away from the pool. Everything was kept neat a d clean from the common areas to the apartments. I can't say enough about the staff

The only downside is that the beach club doesn't sell breakfast nor dinner and that the are no signs to know where things are (got lost a few times), is seems that the new administration is working on solving that so you may find this solve when you come

Excelent place to stay if you have the chance, the beach is beautiful, the building are with an eco-friendly design, leaving the mangrove swamp as it is and constructed around them, pretty close to las Terrenas beach and a few really good restaurant

It's an amazing place surrounded by nature. The whole complex has a river filled with animals running below it which is pretty neat

Only reccomendation would be to bring your reppellant since at night mosquitoes get fiesty in las Terrenas

The shape of the hotel is very unique next to the beach. There are shops right under hotel and close too many restaurants and night clubs. The pools were very and perfect area to cool off and get sun

Pool was impressive, room was neat, A/C works perfectly (not many places in DR heat work well). Able to make quick meals in the room. Good breakfast offering.

The view of sea was obstructed to by tents set up for four wheelers and motos and that’s was disappointing but all this good have been our fault since we didn’t pick perhaps best time to go

The room is quite big, and the double bed room is much more comfortable than the twin room. But the hotel is older and the facilities are older. The air conditioner can only cool but not heat

We really enjoyed the breakfast included with the stay and the croissants were amazing! The space was very big and roomy and the jacuzzi was nice to have although paint was chipping a bit you can tell they make efforts to fix things
