The activities and the entertainment staff was fun and had people moving and having a good time. If you get stomach problems, notify. They’ll help you out and follow up both with you and the kitchen staff
Beautiful resort, the food was fantastic. Staff were good and friendly but not many had very good English. You can walk on the beach for miles and miles
About 25 minute walk down the beach towards Las Terenas you come to a cool restaurant and bar called El Mosquito. We were there Nov 2025 and will be going back next year. Excellent resort for all ages
The buffet food was just okay and after a week it gets to be a bit much, saying that the restaurant itsrlf is lovely and having the a la carte options for 3 nights is great and the restaurants were very good! The location is very pretty it's a lovely beach, but you really are not close to much, you'll have to rent a car or get a taxi into town which is not cheap, but if youre not doing it every day...
All in all it was a really good stay!! With the staff being it's greatest asset!!
The beach is beautiful, those bright blue waters that I think everyone wants to see in their life! There are areas in the resort that are louder and more energetic if that's your vibe - for us we wanted to be in quieter areas, and there was space for that

In addition, what was our surprise upon arrival that this particular hotel was only for adults (without children), for us specifically this was a BIG plus, since we did not see such a description of the hotel on the website
Loved this place! So peaceful and fun at the same time. It's not too big so after some days you start feeling as a big family. The entertainment team is simply the best! I want to be back pretty soon
I would also like to note the good work of the staff in the restaurant; you could always choose what to eat and choose what you liked
, and if you get bored, you can always go on cool excursions, we didn’t regret taking advantage of the excursion, cheerful guide and many beautiful natural places. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends
Overall service from management to food server was great!
Rebooked for another two weeks this coming October 2024. This resort is most Definitely a winner for enjoying all round vacation therapy! 😃😃😃
very friendly and smiling staff. Even though I don't speak Spanish, I had no problems communicating with the staff. special thanks to the animators (Dominica, Javier, Auriel, Cafe, Marie, Connie, Uli

Very satisfied good location Excellent Staff good Parking
Best beach bar in town of the 5 right on the beach from portillo side to ballenas side....pricing and service best on average...
Mosquito beach bar way down other side too but bit higher pricing...
Lovely hotel in first line of beach, with good food and very good service. Great value for money.
Beach clean and cosy, excellent beach restaurant with breakfast at the beach. Pool clean and well maintained, water sometimes a little bit to hot!, rooms cleaned daily, towel service and cleaning by room maid
The location is perfect, with great restaurants within walking distance and the beach literally just steps away. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast each morning was amazing
It was a good place to stay. Thanks for everything.

Our two bedroom suite was very ample and in good shape, except maybe the furniture on the terrace
If you are looking for an exclusive and opulence in Samana, look no further. Great restaurant, beach and pool area. Close to everything yet far enough to have privacy for couples or family. Highly recommended.
Wow, the perfect secluded romantic getaway if you're looking to get away from the crowds and some relatively virgin beaches.
Quick resolve by staff to our queries, standing out were Hugo and Pedro Pablo. In general all staff is very friendly and forthcoming

Great place to stay, great people, beautifull place, clean, customer service is the best, food is super, thanks for everything, we’ ll be back.
Great resort in Las Terrenas, clean rooms, good breakfast.
The spa is very convenient and gives lots of options.
I recommend this hotel.
Great place. With everything cover. Great service. Excellent personnel
I love this place is the third time I stay here I recommend this place is right in front of the beach. The food is great the drinks and the people that worked there is amazing. My best part was the massage.
Hotel is clean, well taken care of, and has all amenities needed. Pool is very good and beach is a few steps away. Special kudos to the ladies at the pool bar.
The place is beautiful. The staff are amazing and the food is excellent. My room is as nice and clean. We had an awesome time. Thank you!

Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are not overly large, but are very comfortable. The area is a little off the beaten path, but more interesting for that reason
She made sure we knew where all the amenities were and was very sweet and sincere. There is also a pool, which isn't the biggest but very private and is open at all hours
It is a short walk from the beach, and there are various beaches along the coast of Las Terrenas that you can enjoy. The reception was very welcoming and informational
It was the highlight of my day since the young men cooking are very sweet and make omelets with much love. There are many other options you can enjoy
We ran into people from France, Spain, Italy, Canada, and relatively few Americans. It definitely helps to speak some Spanish
The people working here are very sweet and attentive to anything you need. Breakfast is included, and it's from 7-10:30 a

Very nice place with easy access to the surrounding activities. Excellent pool, easy parking and the rooms were a good value and in very condition
This is way yo perfect. Peaceful ☺️. Great service. Excellent breakfast. Pet Friendly 🥳. Can ask for more🏝️
The WiFi is very slow probably an upgrade can help.
Nevertheless, I would stay there again for all the good reasons and return the favor of not addressing the owner on any fashion
We went all over the country , best place we have ever stayed. Plus, everything you will need is around the corner.
All the rooms were clean and super cute! We especially loved our two-bedroom. Very unique, nice little decorative touches, breezy and comfy patio, and really nice pool. The staff were also very helpful and nice
Even though I am owed nothing for staying there, after three attempts to simply say hello and congratulate him on the resort (thinking I was being positive). He appeared to have contempt for U

Las Terrenas, Avenida Benelux 1 🧭 Map
Good place to stay, it's a 2-minute walk from the beach and affordable for families. The kitchen is well equipped, water abundant and hot water available. The only issued I've had there it's their upstairs shower drain
We stayed a week in las Palmas. Since we had some important questions to ask, we contacted the hotel 4-5 times before the arrival. The communication was fast and effective and we were satisfied with the answers
The cottages (we lived in number 21) are nicely designed with a lot of beautiful pictures inside and on the porch as well as colourful furniture. The kitchen has all amenities necessary for making meals and coffee
When we came, we found the staff super friendly and assisting every way they could
Sergi Martorell, the manager, was very efficient in solving the problems that have arisen and answering multiple questions we had regarding our week stay in las Terrenas
is much more of a challenge for a small establishment in a somewhat remote village in a developing nation than say Daytona Beach. I had nothing but positive, friendly, and helpful experiences with the staff at Las Palmas

Las Terrenas, Calle Francisco Bono 2 🧭 Map
The receptionist/manager is very hospitable and accomodating. We highly recommend this hotel as there is no question it has the best value on the beach
2 minute walk to ideal soft-sand palm-tree-lined natural beach. Beautiful private swimming pool. Fantastic open menu breakfast included. Restaurants and bars in each direction. 10 minute walk to town center
This room had a really large carved wooden armoire which was okay for hanging clothes, but the room had no drawers for the rest of your clothes. Hotel has a full breakfast included every morning
At night there’s fun lights that change colour in the pool, the kids loved that. The beach is just at the end of the street but there’s mostly fishing boats so you can walk either way on the beach to find a quiet spot
Room was large, with 2 queen beds, a bedside table, a small chair and table, and a large table/storage area that had the TV. Air conditioning worked well and room had a ceiling fan
The pool is a nice size for kids with lots of place to get it in and out and there’s a small toddler pool attached. They keep it clean and the water was clear to the bottom

Housekeeping did not always provide. Service in the restaurant for breakfast was great. It is a good place with good value overall
The property is older but for the money and location and amenities we thought it was a good deal.
Carmen is a star, great stay!
Carmen, who worked reception, was so wonderful and nice and helped me with everything. The room was simple but had everything I needed plus a large balcony with a great ocean view!
Great location and convenient to shops etc. Would stay there again. Access to amazing beaches.
Gray only feet away from the best beach in Dominican republic very good five stars
However, our air conditioners were not working properly, and it took almost an hour for the maintenance person to come check-it out and that was after we went to the front desk to ask for an update

The pizza “Las Terrenas” is delicious! Good service and affordable prices! Good environment too, and excellent music.
Was there to celebrate my cousin's 50th birthday. The owner and staff are the absolute best -- super friendly and accommodating. I'm one who enjoys the simple things in life and I was truly in my element
Restaurant and Beach Bar on the property , excellent food & service. Pizza was excellente!!!
Very happy we stayed at Las Cayenas Hotel & Restaurant,
Thank you to Nathan & Staff
Friendly staff and good music as well. Very affordable and dinner for 5 was about $4,300 pesos. Will definitely be back when come back to Las Terrenas
This review is for the restaurant. Many different options to choose from. Seafood, meats, pizza, etc
We went there back to back because of how much we liked it the 1st time. Our dishes were octopus, shrimp and pizza
Superb Customer Service upon arrival. We drove in to inquire if they had a room, no problem , reasonable rate. Gracious host, comfortable , clean rooms , and very well maintained grounds

The owner reached out to me as soon as I made my reservation. I was able to text him with questions before and after our arrival. The staff greeted us and made sure we were comfortable for the evening
Very good experience at Castillo Romano , miss Morena and mister Teo are the best human beings and hard working people.they treat us like a family, very nice people.
My kids loved that we were staying in a "castle". The experience is very different from staying in a traditional hotel. Very much a bed and breakfast and would be a great location for a family reunion or wedding party
All-in-all we felt safe, secure, attended-to and slept great. We will stay again if we are in the area
The warm welcoming by the staff and of course you feel like home❤️
Owner is very communicative and has staff on site to meet your needs. we missed breakfast since we had other commitments at 8am. fully stocked kitchen so you can cook and refrigerate food

This is a great place to stay, it's very new, just opened in January, but it's one of the best in the area, the pool is great, rooms are cozy and spacious, breakfast is good, our only minor complain would be that the wifi didn't reach very well into our room, but, but everything else was just perfect
Great location within walking distance of the beach and restaurants. Staff very accommodating. Nice clean room that leads right out to the pool. Parking on sight. Definitely would book again
Wally’s 50th birthday 68 people came to celebrate
We didn’t have go weather but made the best of it one day was good and I was leaving that day out of 6 days hopefully when I can come back it won’t be raining again
The location is a good base for exploring the wider region (by car). With under 10 rooms, it has a really nice vibe, though everyone is quite close together so it is not super private! Overall we loved our time there
Excellent small luxurious feeling hotel. Customer service from the owners, to the receptionists, to the maintenance staff, all amazing. Free breakfast included and central safe location close to all the fun

Las Terrenas, Pueblo de los Pescadores 🧭 Map
Fun concept to look like a cruise ship. Very nice rooms. Great staff. The location is ideal if you want to have excellent access to the beach, shops and restaurants but the traffic is very noisy.
Amazing place! Perfect location, spacious and spotless rooms, and the breakfast was absolutely AMAZING—truly a highlight of the stay. Highly recommended! ♥️
Pool was impressive, room was neat, A/C works perfectly (not many places in DR heat work well). Able to make quick meals in the room. Good breakfast offering.
The view of sea was obstructed to by tents set up for four wheelers and motos and that’s was disappointing but all this good have been our fault since we didn’t pick perhaps best time to go
The traffic noise is loud for sure so I don’t recommend booking if you’re sensitive to noise or air pollution. But if you like to be right in the middle of a bustling area, this is a great oasis
One request we have is for the poolside bar to be open more often. Over the 3 days we were there, it was only open Saturday night and closed early

The beach in front of the hotel. Was amazing. Very quiete and private. And the food!!! Best food in Las terrenas. Gerald the French chef will make you fall in love with his food ❣️
Always a Great Stay!
Always a pleasure to stay here. Rooms are clean and quaint. Property is beautiful. Food is very good. Staff is friendly.
Good food at restaurant, try the mahi champagne cream sauce
The good : The location is nice, the hotel is beautiful. The bad: The beach front of the hotel isn't much to write home about especially considering the dirty sun beds and the beach in general in front of the hotel
They arranged taxi services for us, and the housekeeping team was incredible—going above and beyond each day to keep our room spotless. There are lots of great restaurants and drinks just steps away
Wonderful beach property displaying a Spanish colonial architecture, great beach views, with a beach sidewalk shared with other restaurants and hotels to walk and enjoy a different scenery

Amazing hotel, great staff. Excellent service! Definitely will stay here again!
Personal, weather, food , place everything was amazing , The reason for our trip was for my birthday and all the staff, including the owner and manager Betania, made me feel welcome and like family. I recommend it 100%.
We loved the breakfast; you can choose between eggs or pancakes. It includes a fruit cocktail, natural juice, coffee, and bread. There are a wide variety of restaurants and spectacular beaches around Las Terrenas
The breakfast was so cute and cooked to order. Fresh fruit, omelette, and natural juices. The pool is open 24/4 and is great after a long day of adventures. The area is super walkable, I had a blast!
Great experience!

Hotel Costa Las Ballenas
Las Terrenas, Playa Bonita, 32000 Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic 🧭 Map
The restaurant is excellent and so is the breakfast which was included in my rate
We stay at costa las ballenas for three-night. The room is nice (mosquitoes friendly 😅). Elena was a super host, always ensuring we needed anything and with multiple recommendations for our next steps at the island.
Great ambience, open air and 50 metres from the beach. Beautiful Caribbean decor, a varied menu and attentive service
Most of the time the noise level in the restaurant is very low with tasteful quiet music. But there's an awful DJ blasting on weekend afternoons. This is a loud country full of people who like to turn up the volume
Also, two of the three nights I spent here there was loud music or loud dirtbike noise in the middle of the night from neighboring villas. There are local roads bordering both sides of the property
If you like that this is the place for you. If you want more consistency in your sleep experience look elsewhere

Breakfast was the perfect start for a day around the best beaches of the area!
Fantastic boutique hotel
We really enyoyed our stay here. The place is super nice and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious too. Would definitely stay here again!
The room has plenty of space, with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, small refrigerator. Very clean as well as the bathroom. Hot water and amenities included. A large front yard, a beautiful pool
The breakfast itself is a must. Fresh fruits, fresh juice, coffee or tea, eggs with ham and cheese, bread, butter… delicious. And the last but not the least. Don Henrique, the owner, is a gentleman
